  1. Usually, the worst ruggin happens on the inner wall. Look for the shiny spot, beat it back. I successfully ran the same tires you have on an unlifted hatch. No rubbing, no damage to the doors.
  2. I'd say look for the shiny spot where it might be rubbing. Beat it back a little, paint over it and wait to see if it gets shiny again. Make sure everyting is tight back there. Hit moving parts with a little bit of spray lubricant.
  3. Happy B-day to you too then Adam. Your Brat was one of the first I ever saw offroad. Made me wish my wife and I both had Brats like you and the Missus. Moosey, you know you still top the list of board members I wanna meet and shake hands with. Happy 4/20 to you guys too, funny to see some of you coming out of the closet. lol Celebrated it with the U Dub and some Full Sail Pale. It don't get better than that. And you know it.
  4. 5 years today mofos!!! (Don't hate the bannana Skip) lol Ya either like me, or hate me, but I'm still here. I've learned A LOT from this board, and hopefully I've contributed a little too. Met some pretty awesome folks, a few who I consider close friends. Subaru all the way man!
  5. You know how I feel G. Choose the one you choose, give 'em the choice as to whether they wanna buy it or not. I'll take 2, ZAP and MRS. ZAP.
  6. I gotta argue with ya Shawn. The difference after going thru a deep mudhole with and without that little cover is bigtime! As in, the end of the throw out bearing or not. I've never seen one shrink and fall in. (not that that means that it never happened before) For a street mobile, don't worry. For an offorader, don't leave home without it.
  7. What war? A beer drinking contest or something? lol You guys only have about 60 soldiers. (please forgive the hijack singletrack, I can't resist)
  8. I used to be partners on one of the fastest RXs on the West Coast. Sounded pretty baddass too. But, ya know what? Now that I'm spoiled by my imprezas, you'll NEVER see me owning one of those old things again. I gotta say, now that I have my OBS a little lifted, I don't miss any of my lifted ea81s, even a little bit. Well, sometimes I miss Bob. . . Not sure what kind of kick rump roast Auto X car an OB would make, they're a little heavy, but I know that they can be tricked out pretty nicely. You've seen the one that made the cover of Subie Sport Mag? I say keep you current Auto Xer, I've seen your results, you do fine with it. Plus it's sweet to beat up new gens with an "old" RX. Use the OB for a daily driver, pimp it out some, keep the RX for racing and the occasional rip across town.
  9. Easy there Zefy. . . If it wasn't for us, you Canadians would be speaking Russian.
  10. Bummer!!! I'm glad you're OK Mike. Looks like I can tell the guy who made the rear bumper that it was pretty friggin solid too. . . Looks like we have to find you another Brat, eh? Here's a quick photo of it. I have more somewhere on CD if you need them. http://community.webshots.com/photo/37919799/60788236zdbdEN
  11. A search found the tire write up. Please feel free to use it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=24979&highlight=tire+write
  12. Yeah, please do Garner. I'll have this one locked so it can drop. Our beer mugs from last year are also display only. We made 75, 55 of them personalized. Sold them all. Only 2 or three ever made it into the beer garden for consumption. Kinda bummed me out, killed the whole reason for making them. . . I'm all for a pint glass with color this year G. Sign me up for 2, one for me, one for the missus. ZAP and Mrs. ZAP
  13. I've sold my last hatch, a blue one I made after last year's show. Moved on to EJ land. My OBS should be able to play by July. It's already half lifted, has 27 inch mudders. . . I'm not afraid to cover it with mud.
  14. If anybody wants to see an RX with an EJt in it, running and driving, it would be me. Ask 'em. lol Can't wait to see it.
  15. Depends on how much we hit it with the water truck that's on site.
  16. I think so. The write up talks about what a pain it was to install it. I think the kits must be fairly expensive for the BAHA too. The responses are funny. It's kinda amazing that it's a Subaru, that a guy is trying to prep for Offroad, and still Soob "enthusiasts" hate on it. lol If it's not a rusty old bucket, it's no good. A BAHA isn't my cup of tea, (although I gotta say that my buddy's o4 BAHA Turbo is a blast on or off road) but I think it's pretty cool to see one lifted. With any luck, we'll be able to get him (lifted guy) to show up at the WCSS this year. . .
  17. Big enough that you'd better be sporting a lift and some kind of mud tires to wanna get into it.
  18. There's a couple more on the Rallitek site, they show the blocks and explain the process. They used a Scorpion kit.
  19. Do you mind if I put the link in the Offroad FAQ?
  20. Although it might look funny, you could just put a cup minus the axle back over the splines. I just spray them real good with a lubricant. Never had a problem sliding them back on. (having a wire brush handy helps too.)
  21. Why would you need a "running total" to make up your mind? Is there a quota. or a minimum amount of people that need to be there before you'll sign up? This is the 7th show. The average attendance has been roughly 100 cars. Last year we had 135 cars, 300 or so people.
  22. Not exactly OZIFIED anymore indeed. . . Just consider the license plate an advertisement. That and once you buy a Personalized plate in WA, it's yours. Not the car's. Only 30 bones a year to keep it. So, sooner or later when I am sporting an ea81ish rig with a PK lift, I can just transfer the plate onto that car. I'd guess Austin has about 11 inches under the rear diff and 10 or so under the y-pipes. That's adding an inch and a half to the clearance under mine. The cool thing about these new gens, that so many of us die hard oldshoolers often hate, is that they have camber adjustments at all four corners. You can buy aftermarket plates or bolts to get even more. We can feel free to push the wheels down instead of lifting the body off of the suspension. The cvs aren't really stressed either, the angle isn't very bad at all. Lots of lift with the ride of a stock Forester/Outback. Still have lots of down travel. I'll be looking to get fid of my 18mm sway bar to gain better travel in the rear.
