  1. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16945&highlight=cyclops+wiring McBrat has a diagram somewhere too.
  2. When I first looked at this thread, I read . . . approved by France. lol I thought why the F would he care what France thinks? lol My wife is always behind me with my Soob projects. She allows me all the time I need to complete them. She can't understand why so many board members' wives are so pissy about their hubby's Soob enthusiasm. She likes to 4X too, so that's a bonus.
  3. Yeah, she makes sure me and whoever is helping have lots of beer. I kinda can't wait for this one to be offroad at Evans this weekend.
  4. Looks like a good group of vehicles. Jeff +2, maybe Todd and Jake, Austin, Me, maybe Qman, Brian in his Toyota FJ. Couple of winches on board, plenty of people to push! I'm about as psyched for this trip as any I've been on.
  5. Should be pics and video next week. Maybe dents and dings, who knows?
  6. We're gonna do the trail accross from the campground at Evans this Sunday. It was Hell dry and dusty, but mucky and wet. . . hoooboy! There's no rust on this one.
  7. No turning back now. (notice anything missing?)
  8. I think that's the perfect car for you. You said you wanted to have room for family and stuff. It will make a good daily driver. As for SPFI, I can't comment, everybody in the HP runs carb'd Soobs with Webers. (except Austin with his 2.2 conversion.) As for no power with the Weber up a hill. . . I'd like to see that person say that after seeing me tackle upper 311 at Evans Creek. (or see attached below as Austin makes it up the gnarly hill with plentyof poop to spare) They usually only cut out on radical sideways tilts, or down hill. You also said you don't need it to be super baddass off road cuz you have your 4runner. There you go. The wagons don't measure up as well offroad as the hatchbacks or brats. They're just plain heavier, so you'll go thru clutches. Add a family and gear for all and it will be overloaded. Ask Austin about that. And like a few folks said, the rump roast end is a mile long past the rear tires. No departure. As for a modern interior, what do you need, a tach, radio, and heater? The older ea81s have oil pressure, temp, and voltage gauges stock. Add some GL10 seats to a hatch if you want it modern. The rear axle takes about 5 minutes to swap in or out on a hatch, go with the welded diff, it will make the LSD seem like an open diff. No shnit. Aaaanndd. Hatches can climb up on bigass stumps, we just look funny doing it.
  9. Looks like me and Austin. . . My buddy will meet us there in his big Toyota FJ. He'll be at the campground. I may stay the night down there too, depends on weather. Shoot me a call Jeff.
  10. You have a PM Jeff. I have a passenger already this time Matt. Sorry.
  11. I dont' think I'll be able to camp, I have to help my Mom move on Saturday. I'll just leave bright and early on Sunday. EC it is, nobody with stock rides spoke up, so I can't very well make a case for them can I? :-\ Hey Oneeye. You guys gonna make the trip down? If you want, I'll send you my #, we can head down together.
  12. Evans Creek is more towards your place. Foot of Mt Raineer. You know how to get to Buckly or even better, Enumclaw?
  13. Mike. You know me, I love your ride. (I've got a couple minutes' worth of good footage of you playing at WCSS6 I'll get to you sooner or later) But that lifted gen one wagon is the S H N I T!!!!!! You got any more photos of the wagon?
  14. It won't say. I'll just go to the library and download it with their hi-speed.
  15. I have a 3mb email in my inbox that claims it's the October internet version of a Subaru Magazine, it's from Simon Newton. I did a Google and came up with Simon NewtonSubaru 4WD Club Before I begin 3mb worth of down load on my stinking dial up, wouldn't hurt to know if this isn't some scary hoax or virus. . .
  16. The air dam + flares would be pretty cool indeed. Add that suspesion, and you will have one awesome ride come time to call it complete Garner.
  17. These days, I'm not so quick to answer q's like I mentioned above. But with so many members, someone always does. And I tell you what. I dig watching the replies from the newbies, as they give second hand info. It's kinda like sitting in a circle and one person whispers something in the person next to their ear and so on and by the time it gets back around, what was said is good and distorted. I get a kick out of it. Usually if someone gets the total wrong info, I'll email or PM them and set them straight without embarrasing the culprit in public. (usually) What Jared said about sucking it up is word. Before the board was here, I was offroading Soobs. When I needed info, I went to the local Soob know-it-alls and bugged them. And I bugged them often. Tom at Aaron's, Steve and Rob and Superior, and Brian the Guru. I can't really pay them back, but I can pass on what I know in turn and don't mind doing so so much. And these days, I have so many board members phone #s that I can jsut call them with my question. The search function needs to be put to use more than we need more sticky clutter on the board/s.
  18. The pirate board shmirate board. It still burns from a year ago. Q's like: What size tires blah blah blah? What size wheels are available? HP increase? Jared put together a sweet write up on offroad tires that anyone could find if they spend 5 minutes doing a search. What's kinda messed up is that nobody (well almost) is willing to go out on a limb and try something for themselves. Folks get to thinking this site is like "ask Jeeves" or something. It's cool that we've come together here and helped the States and a few others to advance Subaru knowledge and make it available. But what did everybody do before the USMB?
  19. I don't recall. . . LOL You aren't a rookie my friend. You've been at this about as long as I have, been to EC almost as many times as I have. How's your water problem?
  20. Yeah? And I don't really like nursing newbies thru EC anymore. That sounds mean, but my time 4 wheeling can easily be ruined by spending all day pushing and pulling and fixing folks cuz they lack experience. I've been thru the most difficult trails at EC, lesser ones there are pretty boring these days. And like I said, stock Soobs can get into our play area near Black Diamond. But if everybody's hearts are set on EC, I'm game. Me first. Keep up if you can.
  21. Thanks Jeff. How do you guys feel about Kanaskat (SP?) out near Black Diamond? There's mud and hill climbs and off camber stuff and water holes and trails galore to play on. I guess why I suggest it over EC is that stock Soobies can have fun there too.
  22. Sorry, don't read all the posts. Ryan, I think Ken wants to talk to you. . .
