  1. As far as I know, I have the only set in America. . . They fit just fine, I've run them for over a year, no problems with lugnuts coming loose. Of course, I didn't use the stock tiny Soob lugnuts, I used bigger ones.
  2. I'm not sure if my spelling is right. . . (hope your buddy doesn't catch it Corky) Know of a link to their website?
  3. We tried the spacers with Ken's brat. Can't remember just why, but he complained about the set-up. I bought his used kit (4/3) and chose not to add the spacers. Slotting the strut towers is an option. Note that the more you push the front wheels down, the more your axles are gonna be hyperextended. A 4/3 is a decent and very useable lift. Ken's 10 inch lift and 31 inch swampers and transfer case and solid rear axle have yet to go where my plain old PK lifted hatch cannot. ('xcept for his trailer, mine's still very streetable)
  4. The coolest ones I've seen had cup holders built into them. I've thought about it, but backed off cuz I don't wanna fill my interior with mud.
  5. Have any of you heard any more about it? When it's coming out. . ?
  6. 30 bucks is too much for me to pay after driving from Seattle. . . They gotta come back down in price if they want me to show up any more.
  7. I don't think so. And more strut length makes for bad camber. As in \ / will be the view of your tires from the front.
  8. Yessir. I'm waiting till everybody (you and one other) get their stuff to me before I ship it.

    Lift Kit ?'s

Just got back from pull a part. Took a look at both a 4X wagon and a 2X wagon, both ea81s. I don't see any reason why an Ozified lift kit wouldn't be 100% compatible with the 2wd ea81s. I've installed 13 of the kits, I would be familiar with them.
  10. Glad to hear you got the help, glad to hear you helped him! Plenty of us have the same story, or one really similar. Comes around and goes around. This is a good place to meet good people.
  11. On a side note. Chances are that that wagon has a LSD in the rear. I'd check if I were you. You can identify it a couple ways. Either wipe off the sticker on the back, it will say "3.7 LSD", or spin one of the rear tires. If the other spins the same way, you're good to go. If it spins the oposite way, forget it.
  12. I'm telling you. . . Too many photos for me to choose from. . . Here's a couple good ones.
  13. How does leave my house at 7 sound? Todd knows where I live, if he can't make it, I can send you directions. Then again, you MV guys might wanna camp there Satruday night. Could you do me a favor and get Todd's # for me? I'd appreciate it.
  14. My 80 DL 4X hatch had an 1800 in it with a single range. I'd almost say hold out for a 4X hatch with the 1800 and a dual range in it, 1982-89. The 16 is getting hard to find parts for. And if hatches are plentyful enough in your area that you can aquire all the parts needed for a 2 to 4X swap, you should be able to find a 4X. Keep the 2X for a daily while you get your 4X up to par. ie: lift, tires, weber. . . Then use it for parts for your 4X. (see attached)
  15. My plates are customized, I'm proud to sport what they say. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1491Call me a yuppie to my face, and we're gonna be fighting.
  16. If it's Evans, count me in. I'll get my buddy Brian to bring his FJ. Leaving bright and early?
  17. My lifted hatch is my daily driver. The lifted hatch I had before it was my daily driver. Bob the lifted Brat was my daily driver before that. . . .and the brat before that and the brat before that and the hatch before that and the hatch before that. . . Why would making your Soob an offroader make it unreliable? Who thinks so and why?
  18. These guys invented putting 2.2s into them, they have $, just not Swampers. The rims are made for Soobs with the 4X140 pattern. Like mine. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/photos/showphoto.php?photo=2182
  19. The wagon looks great. I'm bigtime envious of the front bumper. You guys gotta get Super Swampers down there. I see all these photos of lifted Soobs, but the tires I see on them are pretty tame.
  20. It doesn't work like that. It's an area 51 thing, you mysteriously lose your memory and can't remember any of his cars. Styles. You'll be close to Rallitek too. Look 'em up.
  21. You could just change the timing belt ahead of time. . . That's my approach.
  22. I'm with the idea of a small lift on a legacy wagon. Reliable as Soobs get. Comfortable and powerful for a long ride to work. With the lift comes a little bigger tires and a formidable rig for the snow. Should do fine for lite off roading. Wagons make great camp rigs, legacys are no exception. As for the more you build the less reliable. . . I don't agree. I haven't done the ej22 swap yet, but all of my lifted, weber'd ea81s are pretty friggin reliable. The last one (86 hatch) made a 500 mile round trip to the WCSS6, then a week later drove 1200 miles to Colorado from Seattle. All said and done, David had to change the wheel bearings on one corner when he got there. Shoot, we drove Ken's Brat 900 miles+ home from the Rubicon after he did several miles of it. Depends on how well you set it up. i'd trust my current hatch to go anywhere in the USA I point it. But I do indeed like your idea. If you have the know how to hook up a 2.2, I say go!! As for pre 97, how come? I have a 2.2 in my 97 impreza, it kicks rump roast!
  23. I have a wedding to go to. Have fun you guys. Matt. Do you have snow tires for the pickle? If not, gimme a call.
  24. That's a dangerous area to take ea82s thru. Caleb Svengouli lost a head gasket there, had to leave it. Beware taking ea82s thru South Dakota.
