Looks like the body damage was minimal. Good to see the Griz out gettin some dirt on it. How many rigs went? Did you catch any video? So is the locker all I made it out to be?

I've got that first photo in one of my brag books! Can't remember if I took it or not. . . lol Good to see you back Ross. Been wondering about you. I think you scared them all into keeping their photos to themselves. :b -
I used to say that too. Most places we go as the Hatch Patrol, we don't let anybody without lifts come with us.

Those are some good ones. I went thru some of the hundreds of Soob photos I have, and had a real hard time picking one. I have MANY most of you have never seen before, but here's the one I came up with. Crappy quality, but gets the point accross just the same. (have it on video!) http://usmb.net/gallery/Zaps-Stuff/XT62 (Sorry, turbone's easy to read and follow instructions don't seem to be worth squat. . .) -
Wanna know why I named my new hatch "Ozy"?
ezapar replied to ezapar's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Bought 7 (this one used from Qman) and installed 12. This one's pretty enough to wear it, even if dent it. I've wheeled it a little, (you thought I really wouldn't?) I just have to be more careful than usual. "second neatest" -
They do indeed have the offset needed on the strut blocks. Enough that you have to beat the firewall in to get them to clear.

Sooooo. . . How long till it's lifted? -
David Sorry I haven't answered your emails, but I think my computer has a virus or someting and I'm afraid to email anybody. I jsut got back on line about a day ago. You have my #, feel free to contact me the old fashion way. About your camber. . . Are you sure you adjusted the struts down? You may have gone the oposite way. You can look at photos of that car, and you'll see that the camber is almost perfect when it's sitting level with the struts adjusted down. I don't see why anything would change with new tires. It used to wear coopers, I sent you a photo with them on. If one of your rims seems different, switch it to the back. See if that changes anything. Like I said, feel free to call me, emails are useless right about now. EZ

If you give that seam a cut about 6-8 inches up, it will fold over easier. You should have to cut the fender a little too. The floor/wheel well will require a little beating back too.

Walker Wheeling run On The Jeep Trail
ezapar replied to one eye's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
If you can talk Qman intomaking the trip, I'll ride shotgun with him and film it all with the digicam. But my purty hatch ain't goin' nowhere near Walker. I've been there a couple of times, I know what that place is like. I like opening my doors. -
are aftermarket air shocks available for brat?
ezapar replied to subiemech85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Harsh. If we run into that here (yeah right) then we can just zip up to one of the local pull a parts and grab a whole torsion bar for 40 bucks or less. . . -

Did you know your rear torsion bar is adjustable? (82+) If you adjust it up and it sgs under the load, you've probably got too much stuff in the back. -

I for one appreciate the invite, but like the man said, this is the 80's gen forum, you have no place for me to post my old school stuff. (don't hesitate to come over here and be a part of the USMB, most of us are pretty nice, only a few grumpy folks like the one who welcomed you.) I do have an impreza as well, so I'll look/lurk in from time to time. -
See, we DO have rust in Washington!
ezapar replied to carfreak85's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The only rusty Soob I've ever owned came from NY and had lived in SLC before making it to Seattle where I became its 4th owner. -
(raises hand) I bought that one thru Moxey Motors for 600 bucks. Lifted it added the Coopers and a LSD and a Weber. I think it still lives in Seattle, though I haven't seen it for a while. The pictures never showed it's real green color. Really pretty.

Dumbest Question ever posted..Sorry
ezapar replied to DaGodfada's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
That's not the dumbest question ever. The dumbest question ever was: "Why did Qman put solid rear axles on his Brat?" -

First in line! -
I've never said "Driveway Queen". I've given a few folks crap for showing off their offroaders with photos of them in their driveways only. This would be my 8th lifted one. I have series of 5 videos with hours of me offroading soobs. I've backed myself up plenty. If this one never makes it offroad, so be it. Anybody who sees it in person would emphathize. And I'll tell you what. If you show me a photo of that big 6 inch Hassey brat that I've been after for offroad photos actually offroad, I'll pay you back with photos or video of this one offroad. But after almost 4 years of asking for a muddy photo of that one, I don't think we'll ever see it happening. And thank you for the compliment.

Rear disc conversion: proportioning?
ezapar replied to Snowman's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If you take the time to scrape off the road dirt, it comes off a lot easier. But I've wrestled with one or two of those backing plates myself. -

He doesn't have a lift on that one, so it appears stock, but doesn't sound stock. -
Engine Swap - Lift Install Meet
ezapar replied to Jibs's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
If you guys can get four people together, the lift will be pretty easy and quick. One person at each corner. We did Ken's silver brat that way, took us an hour and a half to get it back on the ground and on its wheels. (No compresor, no power tools.) -
