  1. The rear discs we use come from a tubo loyale body style, same type of car as your Roxxanne, Snowman. I'll tell you this. Not "concrete" by any means, but my testimony. Your braking will improve after you add the rear discs to your car. You don't need a proffessor to help you do the swap, it's a take off/bolt on project. period.
  2. Thanks Mike. That's exactly what I try for. Each has a slighly different theme. This one will follow the last one. No big "road warrior" bumpers, no light bars, not too many stickers. But the kicker will be what I've got planned for the paint job. Yeah. When it's done, you guys will forgive me for not wheeling it I think. Hopefully I can forgive myself.
  3. Les Shwabb is the way to go if you ask me. They are not the best priced place, but you can find them all over the place to honor the warrantee. The last time I scored one, it was about 140 someting all installed and stuff, included shipping. Anybody who orders them has to order them right from Interco.
  4. Bro, I tried to stop by and wake you up yesterday early a.m., but your work truck was gone. Would love to show it to you John. It's actually white, and I'm thinking about pulling it in favor of a black one. I've got video of that trip with the blue brat at reiters. I spent the whole trip reaching out the window to push back branches to keep from scratching the pretty paint. Made me realize I had to sell it cuz I didn't have the heart to beat it. This one may never see mud, I'm serious. Lots of snow though. As for a keeper, it will be untill something better comes along. (that may be a while) I managed to hold onto the tan one for a little over a year, not bad for me.
  5. Here's some new better photos. This one will actually have a name. "Ozy". You'll all understand why soon enough.
  6. I'm really not in a hurry to get it muddy, the paint is too nice to scratch up. . . Washed it this morning, WOW! what a pretty car. . . I actually have thoughts of totally restoring this one. Mostly it needs cleaning under the hood to complete it.
  7. He be the new one. All runnin' and ready. The pic doesn't show the pretty blue color, but so be it, it's really overcast here today. This one is so sweet, I may not ever wheel it. We'll see.
  8. They are rare. But I know afriend who has one. A black 83. I think he paid way less than a 1000 bucks for it, real nice condition, less than a 100k on the clock. I'm never around it with my camera though. . .
  9. Central WA is the mountains. . . But if she does break in Wa, she'll be in good hands. There's lots of us here who can help.
  10. I think the impreza looks sharp like that. Probably pretty fast too. Looks like someone spent a lot of time and money putting it together. Rice could also be putting RX body kits on your plain old turbo loyales. Anything J.C. whitney.
  11. ea81 is the name for the 1800 engine that came in that body style. ea71 is the 1600, it may have that engine instead if it's a DL. A 1982 wagon will have the part you are looking for, never mind if it has an ea81 engine in it or not. Grab the radius arm too. The one you have has been banana'd and bent back straight.
  12. Come see it. No big pics till it's on the road. That should be Tues or Weds. Had to change the avatar since the tan one is no longer mine.
  13. Get a load of that avatar! Told you this one's gonna look good!
  14. The arm you need is indeed one from any ea81. FWD or 4WD.
  15. Cool, we'll work on the wrench. Glad to know it made it. THought it would. That would make me 6 for 6 when it comes to sending lifted soobs across the country!
  16. The tan hatch left for Colorado this morning. I actually had that one for more than a year, a record for me. I'll change my avatar when I get back from the cabin. You guys are really gonna love the new hatch. It already sits on a 4/3. Just waiting for me to lengthen the brake lines. It's short a block for the rear and a bolt, they're on the way. Pics when it's done.
  17. Someone must have. Can't think of a reason why he'd quit posting. Fess up. . .
  18. That was Qman's old hatch. He'd be the guy to ask. I assume you are trying to get a better look at the snorkel.
  19. I won't go into price and cost, but here's what I had to do to get Bob into shape after I bought it. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/offroad/august2002/PDC_0112.JPG http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/offroad/august2002/PDC_0149.JPG http://community.webshots.com/photo/37919799/60788769eqYlqp headlights bulb for 3rd eye headlightbezels grill fenders pounded to shape front bumper rear bumper custom roll bar hood engine exaust new weber tranny windshield t-tops rear slider seats center console dashcover carpet struts shocks rear discs rear trailing arm both front axles tail lights paint, bed, rollbar too bobbed 12 inches of rust from the rear lift kit tires/wheels rear diff battery mirrors radio antenna probably a few things I can't remember. It all depends how dedicated you are, and how much you love the idea of bringing a brat back from the dead. That one took 6 weeks and no end of labor. . . The way you describe your brat and what's needed, I'd give it a 600 dollar value. You could sell the topper seperately for 150 bucks or so. Or you could have some patience and let it be finished when it's finished. You have a nother car to drive in the meantime.
  20. Yeah, it was too heavy with mud. I had to pull the other off too.
  21. Yeah, I went into the first hole in FWD, Doh! You'll also note I asked him to pull me backwards two feet each time so I could keep going forward. Name the other rig who made it thru the whole thing 3 times. . . Which car did you take thru Caboobaroo? ? ? ssshhhhhh.
  22. Here's how I do it. http://usmb.net/gallery/Zaps-Stuff/Flinging_Mud_05shrinky And Dusty Rider says the Swampers are too agressive. hehe . . .never.
