  1. I would surf around on the Outback forums, your legacy should be the same when it comes to mounting the bar your looking for. subaruoutback.org
  2. Taken lately of the XV. Gettin' closer to 2 years of owning it. Still in love. Believe it or not, this was taken this month. No bs, it's been that nice here.
  3. Turning left yesterday, onto my street from my kid's school. The guy turning left from my street onto 8th wasn't looking and went while I was in front of him. He crashed into the side of my Jeep. His head light was busted, his grill crunched on his early gen prius or echo looking car. If you look closely, you can see the white in two places on my Jeep where his paint rubbed off. Needless to say. . . I love my Jeep.
  4. I can hear you giggling from here. Awesome work.
  5. The CVTs have a 4.44 gear ratio, I think they're faster than the imprezas. We test drove the crap out of the imp and the XV in both CVT and 5 speed.
  6. https://www.facebook.com/events/320539081487595/323848794489957/?notif_t=plan_mall_activity Is anybody from here, specifically Seattle or North of, going to head down? Let's get a convoy of Subarus to bring along.
  7. 4 inches in the front, 3 in the rear. Add some 27 inch mud terrains. Weld the rear diff. Grab a come a long, a strap and a shovel. Go. Work through things as they come up. i.e.: bumpers, stowage, lights. Spend a year doing that. If your car takes you to all the places you need to go, you've done it right. If that car has too many problems with the trails you're on, bail on it and buy an old Toyota truck and repeat the process. After a while I got sick of going down the gnarly hills and wanted to go up them. So I bought a Toyota. After a while I wanted to go up the REALLY GNARLY stuff, so I locked it and added 4.88s. Then I needed a back seat cuz of kids, so I bought a Wrangler.
  8. In the words of the almighty Suicidal Tendencies: 'Just because you don't understand it, don't mean it don't make no sense. And just because you don't like it don't mean it ain't no good.'
  9. ^^^^^^^ The last thing I'd expect to hear. This from a guy who lost his car on the way home. rotflmao. That stuff is AWESOME!!! I'd love to have one of those things.
  10. Indeed. A simple lift, a weber, a welded rear diff and some mud terrains. GO! And Brain my friend, I've seen some CRAZY stuff that those side by sides pull off. None of our little soobs could do stuff I've seen them do. my Rubicon would be speechless if it saw what I've seen. Skip forward to about 16 minutes. yikes!! They pop back in about 27 minutes again. Awesome watch either way. also. This is reply #109. lol No nothing yet?
  11. Then you should search this forum for diagrams and photos and descriptions. Or find someone in your area with one and get under his car and look at it. We can't help you find a kit that you don't have to buy.
  12. Numbchux' diagram is cool, but is far more complicated and really only achieves the same as going clockwise or counter clockwise. Eventually, each tire gets a chance at each corner and at spare which will wear them evenly. Truth. Much easier to keep track of. Also truth.
  13. I'd suggest looking for a vacuum leak. Did you plug the wires back into the plugs properly?
  14. So I got an email today from Subaru of America asking me to apply to be a Subaru Ambassador. Did anybody else get one of these?
  15. I always have a spare. Always. But I've only had to mount one once while wheeling. I still haven't used the spared (same size, different brand) spare that I bought off craigslist 10 years ago for the Toyota. I do rotate the spare on my Jeep, and always did with my Soobs. If you think about it, rotating your spare one from time to time should buy you 25% more tire life. mmhmm.
  16. VERY COOL!!!!!! Thanks so much for this endeavor.
  17. Just drop into the dealer and have them reset your sensors.
  18. I always buy 5 or even 6 tires for off roading. If you rotate them evenly, you can get a huge amount of extra life out of them. These days, I rotate the tires on my Jeep every 1000 miles. You may want to do it every 3k miles. Mark them 1-5 on the inside of the rim and rotate them clockwise.
  19. My advice for the front bumper. . . Cut of some of that plastic so you can raise the skid plat up a little. The forester already has a terrible approach angles, to add things lower than the bumper just kills it even more.
  20. Welcome indeed. Glad to know that something posted here helped you along in getting back on the road.
  21. My 1991 Legacy LS with Outback struts/springs and wheels/tires and the 2013 XV, which is a lifted impreza technically.
  22. I never got to do the Lake Izzy trail. None of the Subarus we brought could make it over the rock on the initial climb. By the time I got lockers in my Toyota, cuz open I couldn't make it, they'd closed it. I went there every other weekend for ever. I miss the hell out of it, it was perfect for learning a Subaru. A little too rough for anything stock (the Hobbit trail), but tough enough to give a challenge to the guys new to their rigs. A few deep puddles to test the cajones. lol And I guess the good old Powerllnes trail up the rocks. . . God I miss that place.
  23. Compared to how it used to be. . . Pretty gnarly is how I'd describe it. Just a few puddles and some fallen logs before.
