Whos up for a Labor day 4x4 sesh
ezapar replied to DeathHatch's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
I'm gonna go have some relaxation time at my Father's cabin this weekend. Stress free, leadership free, no organization, no question answering to do. Just beer to drink and a fire to tend. No being responsible for others except my wife. Have a good time. -

I sure would like to show you guys an awesome photo of my hatch in the mud, but the stinkin photo gallery seems to be a little retarded and won't take my photos. . . So I guess you'll all just have to wait until your copy of Noah's cd arrives in the mail. -

No, thank all of you for showing up and having a good time. John Alley of Hood River is as much to blame for its success as we are. He did quite a bit of the legwork. Thanks to all of you who helped as vollunteers for things like setting up the mess hall and putting everything away. And especially thanks to Corky, Genie and Ed for being GateKeeper/MoneyTakers. And thanks to Brian (84SOOB) for selling the raffle tickets for us. You guys kick assssssssss Thanks to all of you for being patient with me as I played "Subaru Cop" and tried to keep order. If I yelled at you for going to fast on the grass or doing cookies, don't take it personal, I had to do it. Thanks for not crashing in the mud pit and causing big problems, only one or two got out of control and had to be "talked to", you know who you are. SO. . . . . . 103 registered cars!!!!!! Same # as USA medals in the Olynpics!! And about 35 who didn't actually park with the "entered' ones. Go on and try to beat that, bet it's a record for gathered Soobs!! -

I'll be at RR just after 6:30. Naomi doesn't get home till 6:30, but RR is a ston'e throw away from my house. See you there! -
Doh! I was filming you (with the tri-pod even) and you had to come over and spray me with mud, so I put away the camera. . . Too expensive to get muddy. Ya looked pretty cool doing it, I'm happy you got it out there E.

Are you still in town? Kick down pal, I'm dying here. You still got my#? EZ -
I'll stand by them too. I've installed 7 on my own vehicles, 11 total. Never seen one fail. Only seen bolts fall out or break, that would be either on the bolt shop, or user error. I'll be putting in another this coming week in my newest newest project. I had to yell at a couple of yokels at WCSS6 who were crying because their prototype next gen PK kit had prblems with the bolts not lining up. "I work at a fab shop, those welds would never pass". My reply was to ask him why he doesn't make his own kit since he works at a fab shop. . . Looked like his kit held together pretty well as he beat the piss out of his wagon in the mud pit we had at the show. I'll go to bat for you anytime buddy! If I did indeed give up too much $ for those couple of parts I need, feel like throwing in a spacer for the skidplate and bolts to match?

If anybody has video of my hatch in the mud pit, I'd sure like to own a copy. My hatch made it from one side to the other 3 times without breaking.

WCSS6 directions to fairgrounds

If that's not your ball of wax, here's John Alley's diretions For those not familiar : Just head up I-84 to exit 64. Head south (right) up Hwy 35 towards Mt Hood. About 7 miles up just 1/4 mile past a big tan Building (Cardinal Glass) you turn on Odell Hwy right and stay on it a little over 2 miles to Summit Rd. Turn left and just over 1/2 mile to Y-East Rd . Turn right and then left into the grounds. There are signs pointing to the Fairgrounds from Hwy. 35 -
Yeah, I know how you guys feel, I've only met about 100-150 board members, I'll only know about 60 at the show. Looking forward to meeting you Snowman, along with plenty of others.

Don't get there too early, they have instructions to keep the gate closed until me and Ken get there to get things going. Noon or after is a good time to show up.
-
Actually, this rain has been good. We want to have a fire to gather around both nights, but we would have been denied if it hadn't rained this week. It will keep the dust down, make the grass a little greener, keep the dust down.

1700miles of Doom (Or a story of Addiction)
ezapar replied to spanky_pete's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Cool story, well told. Don't feel alone in your addiction. I've sold soobs to people from far away. I've sent lifted Soobs to Texas, Idaho, Idaho, Utah and L.A. and back. I'm about to send my lifted 86 hatch to Colorado. Don't ask me to tell you about the 86 hatch I just bought, you'll hate me. -
He says its crapped out on him, wanted me to let you all know that. EZ

I don't really see a way to keep it looking natural back there and keep the tail gate? The outer skin is signifgantly wider if you take out 12 inches. It doesn't all line up anymore. http://community.webshots.com/photo/37919799/60788769eqYlqp
