  1. That's right, as well as the Baha, his RS and a beefed 04 STI.
  2. That's right, only the tell. Took a trip to Oregon this last weekend with Ken to map out the fairgrounds for the WCSS this next weekend. Met with Sean and Garner of Rallitek and carpooled with them to Hood River in the new Rallitek 05 turbo legacy. Sean let me drive it for a little while. Wow! Did I mention he's added a stage 3 turbo to it? Yeah, 385 hp!!! I can honestly say it's the fastest car I've ever driven. Although, I guess the Rallitek '00 RS (the "little car") has a stage 3 now too and I'll be having a chance to drive it soon too. I had a chance to drive it some while it still sported a stage 1 turbo and a paultry 280 hp. Since he hasn't got around to suspension mods, (the temp license is still in the window) it was kinda like GT3 when you mod up just any old car with a big turbo and no suspension or weight mods. Fast as HELL, but a little scary to take around a corner a high speeds. Oh yeah, there were 4 passengers in it too, maybe that's why it was a wee bit squishy. LOL 0-100 just like that, just the same. That legacy is pretty sweet for looking so much like a s a a b.
  3. Sooo. . . Do you believe me now? You do know I've installed more byb/pk kits than anybody in the US? Your tech buddy can feel free to contact me if he has problems or questions. chairotsu@earthlink.net
  4. It wouldn't be the first time we passed around a hat to help out a soobie person in need.
  5. (very Subaru related) Help me with my poll on the NASIOC. Jamie (Subigal) has been a big part of the WCSS in years past. Help me get her to attend the Show this year. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=615641 Thanks, Eric Zap
  6. You'd better learn how to spell Rallitek. The pile of raffle stuff is getting bigger. We should have some pretty cool stuff to give away. We possess the trophies, possess the beer mugs. We'll be taking one more trip down on Sunday to map the fairgrounds for the show.
  7. Here's some. http://www.westcoaststompers.com/ CLick "members rides" then Eric Zap. But I am gonna keep my SuperSwampers and rollbar. Lift and Weber will be included with the car.
  8. I know it's a little farther than 500 miles, but I'll be selling my lifted 86 hatch in about a month or so. It doesnt' have any rust except couple small spots of surface rust. . . It would definitely make the trip to CO.
  9. We took 3 of our offroad soobs to Evans Creek and did a couple of fairly difficult trails. I wanna brag about how cool Ken's Brat is with his t-case and solid rear, but want pics to prove. He let me drive it down and back up one of the hill climbs, whooboy, those are some low gears! But my hatch went everywhere it did, no dents no overheating, no problems.
  10. 81-82 dual ranges have the same gearing. The change came in 83. The fourth gear is longer 83+, I'm not too sure about any difference in 3rd. I've had several of both to compare.
  11. You've found the right place. You should be able to find out most of what you'll need to know about your car from here. Welcome aboard. And good luck with your car. Can we see photos?
  12. The fastest one was 4 of us with hand tools and a PK/BYB 4/3. We had Ken's brat back on the ground in about an hour and a half. For your first time, expect it to take a weekend.
  13. Go Flo Go! You got less than 3 weeks to get it road worthy so you can represent the lifted ones at WCSS6. !!
  14. Here you go. Originally Posted by subaru_styles so,,,,,,, any word on calsses yet? There will be a "Best Street" a "Best Off Road" and a "Best in Show" I think we came up with 21 trophies all said and done. as an example. ea81 will include brats, wagons, hatches, sedans, coupes, etc. as in body style, not engine or tire size. A modded street brat with an ej22 will be in the same class as a lifted monster wagon or a bone stock hatch, whether FWD or 4WD. There won't be a "modded" class. or a stock class. We decided this for a couple of reasons. one, funds. We (Ken and I) are having to pay for the trophies out of pocket, they got expensive quick. The second reason dates back to WCSS3. There was a "brat class", and a stock DL won over the others. The third reason being to keep away from arguements as to what "class" each car goes into. This will also make each class have more cars. The prizes will be coveted more this way as well. No more "My xt took second cuz there were only 2 xts" Next year we'll have more funds to come up with more trophies. This year we went with quality over quantity. You guys will dig the trohies, we picked cool ones.
  15. We've Got the Hatch Patrol all over the place these days Ed. Have a good trip, see you soon.
  16. What you said about how expensive it is. . . You could try taking a train to Portland, and then renting a truck and dolly to tow it back. Including gas and train fare, it should be under 200 bucks. I know money is hard to come by, but I think the cost of towing 2 broken brats will cost a lot more. I would advise against trying to tow a brat with a brat from OR to Seattle, there's too many hills in between, and too many places where traffic gets thick. ie: Olympia, Tacoma/Ft Lewis, Federal Way and Seattle. For the record, Ken towed both a ea81 wagon and a ea82 wagon for a few miles with his brat and they did just fine. I think you're doing the right thing by coming here and asking advice rather than trying something crazy like that without checking into it first. Good luck with getting it here. Do you know anybody with an old truck who can help you? There may just be one or two board members who own a truck and dolly who may help you for the price of gas and lunch. . . Who knows. As for AAA+, Ed is right. I've used mine 3 times to save other board members who's cars broke far away from home. It's a real lifesaver.
  17. Yeb, I agree. If the bolts will come out, then then there's not enough rust under there to keep you from lifting it. Rusty rockers are no big deal, same with wheel wells. I get the impression that unrusty soobs are pretty hard to come by in Minnesota. Go for it!
  18. Back to the future eh? Good to meet you. You have a month to get it well enough to follow the caravan to WCSS6. See you there.
  19. We're gonna get a bunch of compatible two-ways. Cheap motorolas or something. (a whole different post I'll stat up when I'm back in Seattle in about a week) We also have cell phones, they work the best. As for more details about a caravan with Ken and I, I will also start up a thread about that with about 2 weeks to go till the meet. We'd love to have you along Scoob, more help the better.
  20. Usually I just bitch about it when folks are late for our meets. This time I'm just plain leaving on time. Ken and I just talked, looks like we'll leave the Tacoma area bout 6 or so. We wanna be among the first to get to the park to be ready for early arrivals. So, if you do beat us there, don't set up camp, jsut wait in the parking lot for us to get there to get things going. See you there!
  21. Dumbest question asked on the usmb this year. . . ie: "Why did you put a solid axle on your brat?" Looks awesome Ken, just like we knew it would!
  22. You can go with QMan and me. I'll be driving my hatch most likely, he'll be in his motorhome too. 60-65 won't be a big deal.
