  1. When I see you locals at EC, I'll show you how to beat back the wheel wells to get better turning. My 27/9.50s don't rub at all, lock to lock.
  2. We'll all camp at the smae area. There's plenty of room, don't worry.
  3. By 12 noon I plan to be in Portland, or beyond. A few of you have already talked with me, any others are welcome to join us. Otherwise, we'll see you there.
  4. No, I'll just be there for a couple of days then I'll fly back to New York. My mission is to drop of the legacy with my daughter, I'm almost there. I'm at Mick's now, I'll be in Lincoln in the morning.
  5. Week Sam. I hope you get it back in one piece.
  6. A plug for one of the WCSS6 sponsors. Try Rallitek.com They have all sorts of performance stuff. If they don't have it, they can get it.
  7. I started playing in a stolen gen one wagon in '83. Yards, alleys, local woods, anywhere we could. We couldn't break anything on it except the clutch. I've been hooked ever since.
  8. I never said beat the hell out of it. I did say offroad. I use the heck out of my soobs, and rarely dent or smash them. I've gone thru plenty of crazy places without "beating up" them up. (knock on wood) I've never broken a rear axle, and only a couple of front ones. My cluthes have always worked good enough to get me home.Even a gen 1 would be able to have some fun up there at EC without hurting it. I knew someone would ask that. The caption is a little mis-worded. I had a little over 4 grand into that one when it was finished building it. You guys all know me, I like to buy em, build em, wheel em, and sell em. I would'nt get any money back if I put any dents in that one. As it was, I only sold that one for 3500. And like Rob said, you can see by the photo that that one did indeed make it offroad before I sold it. It went thru the Hobbit Trail at Reiters for a test run. I have video of it stuck in water half way up its doors. The same hole G.D. got his wagon stuck in. As well as some rock climbing. Anybody whos' seen Part 4 of my "Offroad Subaru Fun" video series can testify.
  9. Bring it anyways. There's some fun stuff you can play around on without messing up your unlifted rig. You can always ride along with someone else. I like your attitude!! But, I know of several places you won't be able to follow the lifted ones.
  10. See you at Evans Creek Galen.
  11. Brats were meant for offroad. period. To street one is the same as keeping a jeep for the street. . . People who won't offroad their brats bug me.
  12. It's lifted now. I still can't get him to offroad with us ever. I've given up asking. . . He is who inspired me to get a hatch and modify it. Now he's way behind me. He started in the mid 90's I think. I went thru Evans Creek for my first time with him and his family in '98. Way before I'd ever heard of the BYB's or the USMB or the internet period.
  13. my email is chairotsu@earthlink.net try that buddy. I kinda don't see a reason to have both. Oooh oooh, I have an email that says check your pms. . . ? huh? Good to hear from you.
  14. Yeah, I should have said "started out as mine". lol
  15. Good for you guys. I can't wait to 4X with you at Evans Creek. Did you know that the swampers on Death Hatch used to be mine? Indeed.
  16. Jason designed, built, and installed the 4-5 inch lift in one weekend. Including a d/r tranny swap. That thing did well, but he really has a heavy foot and upper 311 is about as gnarly as trails get at EC. He did break a lot of axles, but the lift held together, but I think the rear suspension punched thru wheel wells. He drove it 75 miles+ home from there with straps holding it all in place. Jason was the original Miles Fox. He lost interest and began to build his 99 forerunner. It's something else these days, pretty huge. He lives in Forks, WA now.
  17. Your D/R will be a 3.9. (Unless it came from an RX) You will have to match the ratio in it with a 3.9 rear end.
  18. If you don't lose them, they can get all full of mud and rocks. Makes 'em pretty hard to get off the car. Here's one with pugs and 14 inch hubcaps that I had. http://community.webshots.com/photo/37919799/60788563yXAxQr
  19. Yours is already paid for.As for the blanks, they'll be first come first serve at the show. I'm not gonna be here to collect money for the next month or so. I fly out on Monday. It's gonna be worth it at the show as we're all together.
  20. Finally!! The lady is done with them. It took way more money and hassle than I ever figured, but they're done. I picked them up just now. 55 of you will be holding personalized ones for the "Cheers"!! We also made ones with just the logo but no personal name. 20 or so I think. They'll be available for sale at the show.
  21. Would love a few of the white ones, usmb.net. . . I'll drop some cash in an envelope as soon as I remember.
  22. Well, then I guess it's not so bad that the new car has a gas leak preventing me from trusting it to make a long trip. I was gonna invade you for the 4th, hoped to leave tonight. Have a good time Paul.
  23. In New York, before you can have plates and registration, you need to have insurance. No problem. I called my agent, she gladly added the new car to my policy, gonna cost me 138 bucks for 6 months. And, if I cancel it with in 6 months, which I will whe I give it to my daughter, she'll pro-rate teh policy and give me money back. Whoohoo, gonna cost me about 40 bucks to insure it for 6 weeks or so. So I take my proof of insurance to the DMV. They tell me that insurance isn't good enough, I need to have New York State insurance. OK fine. I call around for insurance. Gonna cost me 286 bucks for 6 months to start a new policy, and they'll charge me 50 bucks if I cancel it within 6 months. . . Whooboy! Gonna cost me 350 instead of 40 bucks. I also had to get my hotel manager to write a letter saying I live there and that my utilities are included so I can prove "garaging" (as in the car is really in New York) Dip*****s! Another 60 bucks, (not 40 like the dealer told me) and I now have license plates and a sticker good till 2006. Only need it till 8/04. . . Criminey. To top it all off, I put gas in it to find it has a leak in one of the gas lines out of the tank. . . Got it to slow a little, looks like I'll have to mess with it tomorrow, meaning more gas and crap all over me. I had meant to jump in and head for Moosey and Connecticut to invade for the weekend, we're off till Tuesday, but don't wanna drive it that far with a gas leak. I'll try again when I get back from my Seattle trip in a week. Or, maybe I'll just plan on heading that way on my way to Nebraska in a month or so. I can take longer that way. . .
  24. Indee, I did buy it to take it to Nebraska to give to my daughter. I also bought it to give myself some freedom from having to share the company truck with 3 other co-workers. s for a road trip, I did that on the way here. Now that I've seen what's on the other side of the mountains from Seattle, I never wanna see it all again. How many corn fields can one person take? As for a legacy over a loyale. I'v had 5 ea82's, I never plan to own one again, they've left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. ej22's kick rump roast.
  25. I was the first to go out with the Baha. Next time I'm telling them I broke something so I can do it over and over. . .
