Your Forester will do just fine. I drove the impreza last year, had plenty of fun.

Not very often, but sometimes, we get a thread with complaints about folks not paying up or not producing parts. Minimal dishonesty, infrequently. Check this out Last Saturday, had a bunch of Subaru folks meet up at my house, seenig that it's close to I-5 and roughly half way between Eugene OR and Vancouver B.C. Qman, Mike W, Mudrat, two of his buddies, Jim and Greg from B.C. Brian? from the board with the pretty black Brat, Tex, Syphon and Dante in attendance. Mee too. John Mudrat brought up two cars to sell, a gen one Brat, and the lifted wagon. Dante (who we all met in person for the first time that day) bought the wagon from Mudrat. Good old John realized after he'd taken the $ that he'd brought up the wrong title. Dante, without really knowing us, left to go home and get his wife so he could take the wagon home. Get this, trusting me with the keys, and John with a pile of his dough. Came back, got his wagon, it's all good. John also brought up a Brat for Greg from B.C. But, Geg's Dad wasn't able to get the dolly which had been reserved, and didn't have a way to transport the Brat to home. So, they left the Brat in my yard for the week till they can come back, I posess the keys. (Can't drive it, can't bend my leg enough to even get in its little rump roast cab) But still, left a pressious possession in the hands of a stranger. My point being, without knowing us or our reputations, these guys put their trust in us to not disappear with either their money or their Soobs. I think it has to do with the type of cars we deal in, I think trust and good nature just tends to go in hand with Subaru. (now if that one guy would just pay me for the video I seet him and reminded him about after weeks of no payment, weeks ago. . .)

I'm pretty sure we can count General Disorder as being in.

Thanksgiving weekend is fine. Either day. Count me in.

Has anyone moved their fuel tank INSIDE their car?
ezapar replied to incognito's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Miles Fox had a bunch of jerry cans rigged up behind his rear seat in the trash wagon that made it out here. BTW Miles. The big rump roast matt you we talked you into leaving finally lost the gas smell and now it has a new home in Dante's lifted wagon. -
15x6 and 15x7 4x140s for $60 to $70 each.

If money were so easy to come by, folks wouldn't bitch so much. Obviously this isn't the board where everybody has 200 bucks to throw at a wheel times 4. -
And especially a newer gen Soob. Getting them to join us has been like pullng teeth. Think I may just organize this for you Brian.

Lifts can't be that illegal here in WA, Les Schwabb sells and installs lift kits for trucks. Your friend in Tenino is in good company. There are quite a few lifted Soobs in Wa and OR.

Speaking of people NOT following through....
ezapar replied to moosens's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Can and will back up everything he claims. Is slow needs reminding will eventually follow through every time. This from me on the West Coast, he on the East. We've done severaly trades and buy/sells. -
hehe, didn't see this till this a.m. Good to see you and your pretty brat yesterday. (sometimes I can understand why someone wouldn't wann offroad their brat.)

We can have everybody over to my house. Most local folks know how to get here. Some group photos of a diverse group of cars would be cool. There's a few big parking lots near here that can be used to take the photos. We took a couple pretty cool shots of three different lifted rigs together yesterday. Had a wagon, hatch, and a brat in the photos. As for how to get your digiphotos onto a calendar. . . Can't you just save them all to a cdrom? I could do it for you. Gimme a call Brian. This makes me wanna make a photo dvd. I have literally hundreds of photos.

I helped change one out on an STI that was getting all new exaust this Summer. It was just as hard to pull out as the older ones. They put them in good.
-
I've used my angle tool to check the angles of us in photos. Have seen over 40 degrees, both side ways and forward/backward.
-
If you use one that I took, dan I have a copy of the calendar? Two fo the ones Jared picked out I took. I think they're good shots. Go ahead and use them if you want Brian texonrocks and uprock are the ones I'm talking about. Cool choices btw Jared.

There's stuff at the autoparts store called "Bug and Tar". Good stuff, I used to used it to wash off the white roofin truck I drove for a year.

Any matchbox style diecast ea81 models?
ezapar replied to Dante's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Mick has a page of toys available Here's non- stomper stuff http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/toys/toys.html Here's the Stompers http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/brats/toys/stompers/stompers.html I have a few diecast hotwheel size wrx's and even a legacy wagon, but no ea81 wagons. I have a bunch of 1/18th scale diecast Imprezas and WRXs rally and non. I was eyeing one of my hatchback stompers, wondering if I could customize it to make it look like a wagon. . . we'll see what I can come up with. -
PNWSEC - what is to become of this club???
ezapar replied to Subie Gal's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I like the once a year show. This year's was a fun shindig, would like a repeat. But pizza meets and carting aren't so important to me. There are more diverse groups than there were when we had troubles before. Now there are the WRXclubs who separate themselves from the GCers who don't have a lot in common with the outback and forester types who don't have anything in common with the older 70-80s gen. (Who are separated by ea81 and 82 types, split into on and offroaders) Would be cool to get more of the new types to do more camping and offroading like the Hatch Patrol does. Outdoorsy stuff. Even if they only wanna leave their cars at the parking lot, there's always empty seats for passengers. To do is to become a believer. I think that if you can afford 25k for a car that you're gonna spend 1-5k modding, you'd be able to find 1500 bucks to completely build an older one. It was a really happy occasion to see a Forester join us at the last campout at Evans Creek. We were ecstatic. A good way to get folks to get to know eachother or become more diversafied would be to refer pnwsec to the usmb rather than an impreza-only board. Maybe drop the "P" and make the club more general. This year's RallyX season has attracted a lot of us USMBers, we probably number 30 in cars that show. You know as well as anybody how Subaru dominated the Rally events are, by numbers, not necessarily ranking. If we only meet to park the cars once a year, that's cool. You seem to have a great handle on how to throw a good party and get a whole bunch of folks to show up. ************* $.02, also lke Roy's ideas. -
