See? We all started somewhere. Although I looked hard, I couldn't find any pics of you lifting a tire. Only found this:

Go check out the "Site Help and Suggestions" forum for the pics help. Go to the "Off Road" Forum and check out the FAQ sticky for your offroad mods.

We all started somewhere Rob. . . NOBODY in this thread can say they knew it all when they first went out wheeling. And *wheeling* to most of you is finding a bump big enough to lift a tire. (seen way too many of those pics posted like it's epic or something) lol Easy. . .
-
I swear to god I'll make it up again one of these times. . . This one has to be in my top 5 favorite off road Subaru pics of all time! Awesome!
-
They fill the wheel wells nicely Scott. Looks good.

Now now everybody. Opinions are opinions. No need to put up frowns and sad faces. Scott specifically asked for opinions and stated right in the title that there should be no flaming. So. I want everybody to go back and edit their posts to state what they think about the tire. Please delete comments about other people's opinions. Or I will delete those posts. Nobody complained about mud. People stated opinons. Please go fix your posts.

^^^ I agree. The BFG A/Ts don't clean out the sticky mud very well at all. For summer time wheeling, they'll do great. I ran some on a pathfinder I had and really only liked them on the road. You try to take them thru the likes of a muddy Walker Valley and you'll be disappointed.

1998 Subaru Outback Impreza Sport

I prefer my impreza lowered. Or rather lower than a stock obs. I used 98-01 RS springs and plain old KYB GR2 struts. Springs I found used, the struts are pretty cheap on eBay. A 20mm rear sway bar from an early 2002 and up WRX will really change it quite a bit. Then some tires, and you have a pretty sweet sticky car. -
I've been running the stock 4.10s with 33s for years. My clutch is fine, but the little 22re has a real hard time pushing them any faster than 65. With your 2.2, you should be fine. 4.56s oughtta do it.

This thread contains a whole lot of poser pics, very few actual "Wheeling Shots". . . "Ooooh look, there's mud over there by my car!" Let's spice it up a bit with a few oldies but goodies.

Spokane makes Tacoma look glamorous. If you do a search, you'll find a thread I posted a ways back about the good reasons to live here. -
7 bucks to play all day is pretty cheap. The money goes back into the places we play. It's the right thing to do. You can buy a whole year's pass for under 50 bucks I believe.

Impreza 2WD to Lifted 4WD with Dualrange SJR Build
ezapar replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Off Road
Just curious Scott. I haven't had a chance to talk with you in quite a while, we need to catch up sometime. @Brain: I dig the idea of a lifted impreza. But after making my silver wagon tall, I looked around and saw my lifted Toy as well as my lifted hatch at the time. Just didn't make sense to keep it tall. So I lowered it an inch and some lower than stock instead. Now it rips corners pretty good, lifts a rear tire it's so tight. -

^^^^ Quit. . .  Remember the Weeble? I do. 12 inches of lift and 32s. I saw that thing at some really crazy tilts, it never did go over. See that basket on top, that was heavy tools and water and stuff. Guess how much lift this one had? None, only 14 inch tires under a stock mobile. 3 or 6 inches of lift on an impreza won't be any kind of noticable difference. What I wanna know is which one of these projects, ie: justy, jeep, outback, or impreza you're gonna follow thru on Scott? -
I'm gonna move this to non-soob offroad. . . Here's what you sound like you're after. Pretty baddass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1pYFot7Dpo&feature=BFa&list=PLA50DA3288DF44EDA&index=93

and on that note, I'm closing this, don't think we can be of much more help to you.

I needs more wheels

Yep, stronger axles will just break the stubs. Broken stubs can be a real pain to change out because they twist before they break, therefore getting wedged in real good. We had to disassemble the whole diff and reassemble it on the side of the Rubicon when that happened once. This is not a new topic, it is one that I might flame you for though. Don't be so heavy on the gas peddle, know a little more about momentum and how to keep it. In all the years I played out in the dirt with Subarus and welded diffs, I only broke one rear axle. Never did break a front one.

KICK rump roast pics Jeff. I'm so regretting not getting myself up there to play in all of that glorious mud. And those ruts!!!!

Take a good look at the FAQ at the top of this forum. Or, take a good look at the Subarus of the 80s page done by McBrat.

Those things are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo heavy! Approach and departure angles are rediculous. Sell it, use the money to buy nice things for your actual wheelers.
