I'm still trying to work it. Family will be out of the country during the show though. Still want me to show up? lol -
Concensus on why my Weber's acting up?

Well, replaced the fuel filter in the engine bay just for shnits and giggles. Wasn't that. Might try the fuel pump that was in the hatch tomorrow at work if it gets slow enough. Aready took the float and sending unit out of the hatch to fix a faulty gage. Cat maybe? -

I was {} <---- this close to making it this year. But my good buddy just shot me down, so I won't have him to pal around with. Next year the coupe will hopefully be complete and I won't be able to find an excuse not to make it. Well, unless it's in some remote place like this year. -
Evans Creek Meet yada yada

I put my spare set of mudders on. THe dancing shoes ain't gonna see no kinda terrain that might gouge or otherwise make them ugly. One offs with no way to replace one. -

Thanks you guys. They say that one will be in later this week. . . I wonder if they deliver. Shoulda asked. Probably, if I have them bring it to my work. hmm Today is my free day to drive long distances. lol Rebuild kit i only 29 bucks for the deluxe one. -
Another look at the one I did.
-
That green is my favorite ea81 color. Nice one Brian.
-
The usual 32/36 with the electic choke. Before I tear into it. It sputters and jerks on any kind of hill or heavy acceleration. It was fine until I did a really steep hill climb. Floats right? Fixable or replaceable? Good source for a rebuild kit?

It's supposed to rain all week.

Do you mean leave the North at 2? I'm thinking the earlier the better. With there being a lot of us, we're gonna want as much camp ground as possible. That, and I'd like to get some wheeling in on Friday with daylight to burn. Maybe we should work out a plan for a group of us to get there earlier to claim sites for the group.

Evans Creek Meet yada yada

It's terrain similar to Walker Valley. Roots, ruts, rocks, climbs, dropoffs. The weather man would be best to ask about dusty or muddy conditions. It could rain, (dance for it) other wise it will be very dusty. There's a 7 mile logging road before the actual parking lot. Then there's lots of main line roads conecting the trails. If so, bring an extra air filter or two. I mean that. -
How about tires? I'll have some 215/75/15 BFGoodrich Mud Terrains on Forester wheels, a set of 5, for sale at teh end of the month. They'll bolt right onto your OB. You will be in love.

Cool car Scott, fun thread to follow.

Roll Call for UNcracked EA81 Dash
ezapar replied to Greenley's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
83 coupe. The dash is pristine, not a blemish. Gray. Don't believe me, too bad. -
I've owned 5 ea82s. Only one of them was worth a crap. I would never own one again. Numchux' list is impressive, but most of those motors I'll never come in contact with and have a chance to put a few thousand miles on to give an informed opinion of. So 253 and 20g and the rest will just have to stay a mystery to me. The ea81 is an awesome engine. Hands down, the most bullet proof. If you can kill one before it hits 250k miles, you did something wrong. I've owned many 2.2s none of them (knock on wood) have ever given me even a hint of trouble. That motor just plain kicks rump roast. I'll trade your horsepower for reliability any day. My wife's current imp has been flawless for almost 5 years now.

I'll make an honest effort to attend next year Mick. (But where will Indy ride?)
-
Have you tried letting the bottom of the shock go? Just separate it from the trailing arm. The arm will ddrop more, giving more room to undo the axle.

21rst and 22nd of August. You'll have to buy a trail pass for each day @ $5.00 each. You an get them at the store in Wilkenson, Carbonado too I think. What to bring: YOUR CAMERAS!!! Let's get this on film and make them all wanna come next time! spare tire(s) good jack Subaru tools. ie:10mm 12mm 14mm 17mm 19mm 21mm 22mm 32mm 36mm your other tools spare axles front and rear. As many as you have, you can leave them at the camp sight to drop weight. Fluids, ie: water, antifreeze, oil, 90 weight, brake fluid. . . Tow strap. winch or come-a-long or two. shovel. couple blocks of wood. camping gear and food. Trash bags to haul your stuff out with you. We tend to pick up garbage along side the trail when we stop too. *edit## Got two way raddios or cbs? Bring 'em _____________ Those of you who choose to come without a rear locked diff or LSD will be needing to stick to simple trails. There will be plenty of rigs there besides ourselves, and they get pissed when an unprepared ride breaks or is repeatedly stuck and blocking the trail. Lift kits will be more successful and keeping floor boards and rocker panels in tact. more as I think or it. Who's in? Let's get an unofficial official head count. On topic please. I've seen that car out on the water. Looked something like this?
-
I was more impressed when you did this: I've got a picture in my photo album of me being swept down stream in a river in my white hatch. That was scary stuff.
-
Congrats Mick. But DONE! ???? lol I don't think so. These types of rigs are never done. On the road yes. Done no.

Started one for ya bro. Just to let you konw how not capable your car is just yet, even with big tires. . . Do you own tire ramps? Take them and place one in front of your passenger rear tire. Place the other in front of your driver's front tire. Now try to slowly drive up on them and tell me what happens next. The terrain at EC is not level and flat. It is very hilly, with LOTS of off camber stuff. Meaning, one of your tires will be off the ground often. Meaning that only one of your tires contacting the ground will actually be spinning. Which means you ain't moving. Welded diff for the win.

No problem. I think it's a good idea to let the new guys know what's up. Cuz ya see, about the second time we're having to pull out a new guy cuz he didn't believe us, that's when folks start getting impatient and less fun is had. Feelings get hurt, tempers flare, all that. Wolf, you'd do well to listen to Jeff, he's been wheeling these Soobs for teh better part of 10 years. Do a search in the off road part for welded diffs, there's plenty of threads there that will help you. Maybe put an add in the wanted section of the classifieds and ask to see if anyone has an extra they'd sell cheap.
