  1. Decals are fun too. Now it's official, the darks side.
  2. Got those ugly chrome "L"s plasti dipped and the yellow film on the fogs.
  3. Just for the FY!. . . They dropped the XV, they're just Crosstreks now. I love it. It's quieter and smoother than the ones I've had before.
  4. You know you hurt at least Jerry and Mike W's feelings there if not a few others you should at least recognize. lol Who's that kid on the far right?
  5. The yellow one is a memory. IN the flesh. Added me some Yokohama AT-Ss and BAM! (first on STi wheels, right?)
  6. Picked it up tonight. Will show it off after the tires are mounted. Got treated pretty righteously by the dealership, had a great experience.
  7. Yep, fuel pump. Easy to hear in a hatch with no sound deadening.
  8. I wish. 370 bucks for plain old Yukons each, on up to 1200 bucks a side. . . I went cheap, 200 bucks for OEM. It should be fine. If I would have changed out the u joint, I probably would be fine still.
  9. My buddy who's a service manager at a Soob dealership said any old kind of 0/20 would do. It's easy enough to stop in at the dealer and grab a couple of filters from the parts dept.
  10. But there are bright sides to the story. I was so happy I wasn't half way up Evans Creek somewhere when it blew. It was all down hill to get back to the highway. It turns out I have a Dana 44 in the front too. hey. Here I was thinking I had a 30. hehe. And the biggest blessing is just how easy it is to change out an axle. Far easier than any Subaru axle I've ever done. And I've done a TON of them. Waiting for the new axle to show up on Monday.
  11. I guess it was about time for that axle to go, it looks pretty haggard and rusty. The U joint is probably what failed first.
  12. Well, I haven't checked in for a while. I took it up to Snoqualmie with my brother and my old Toyota to play in the snow. Found a couple of feet of snow at the top of the hill. We made a little fire and had a good time for a bit. I tried some crazy stuff and broke a front axle. Had to do the walk of shame and pull out my winch while trudging through feet of snow in front of the guy who'd showed up in his Big ol' Toyota. Then I had to nurse it down the hill at about 4 mile per hour for about an hour to get it to get towed. I didn't have any tools, and there was no chance of getting a replacement axle on Saturday night. So I had to do the ride of shame too.
  13. I needed that this weekend. . . Had to do the walk of shame while I spooled out the winch to pull me out of the mess I was in. Broken outer front right axle. Nursed it back to the freeway and had to call AAA. First time in 20 years 4Xing that I had to ride in a tow truck to get home. Pride hurt.
  14. Um. . . The Hatch Patrol Xmas tree thing ain't gonna happen this year, not enough interest. So instead, I'm going to head up to Snoqualmie Pass and play on Tinkham (sp?) Road. A real nice climb into deep snow. A foot fell a couple of days ago, some will fall tomorrow, and it will be snowing heavily on Saturday. Perfect! Lemme know if you want to follow me and my buddy up. I'll be in the Jeep, he'll be in my old Toyota. Both are fully locked, we have winches.
  15. Well, due to lack of interest, I'm not really into heading up to Greenwater two weeks in a row. However. I am going to go play up on Snoqualmie on Saturday if any of you want to follow me. I'll head up Tinkham road.
  16. These things are pretty frikkin capable, they've taken AWD pretty far.
  17. According to the dealerships, and my buddy who mistakenly popped the tranny drain instead of the oil. . . NEVER touch it, ONLY let the dealer mess with the trans fluid.
  18. The wheels look like the ones Jerry made a bunch of years ago. Cut out the spokes and welded them to a 14 inch hoop. He showed them off at WCSS6 I think. Pretty cool to find a set.
