That'll push right out. lol If you keep it up, it'll be as pretty as Ken's in no time. *That would be me who got the call yesterday afternoon from a very excited Mick who had a pretty gnarly story to tell about his adventures. *

Bbq Cancelled Due To.....
ezapar replied to 86ruguy's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Up at the top of the Meet and Greet page is a Sticky for McBrat's USMB members map. If you look at it, you'll find that there aren't too many members in Tacoma. I happen to live in North Seattle, but never saw your post. I noticed youposted Monday, gave everybody till Sunday to RSVP, but by Wednesday you were already up in arms because of no reply. I gotta level with you. I hate the Tacoma traffic and probably wouldn't drive to Tacoma for a bb-q. Make it in a central location, closer to other members. Pick a park you're familiar with or something. -
Thanks for the luck, I know we'll need it. That or for one of the guys in AU to quit bragging about how popular they are and take the initiative to arrange to send some to us. I doubt I'll ever try rock crawling in an EJ car. Crappy approach and departure angles just won't allow that stuff. If it's gonna get a huge lift, then might as well add in a transfer case and the d/r tranny won't matter anyways. . . But in the mean time. An EJ d/r would be really sweet for hill climbs and the like. Slow trails, or snowy climbs like the one that did in your clutch when you followed us up to Greenwater. The EJ d/r would have to be way stronger than an EA, and you could probably get a clutch that's ten times as strong. Well better anyways. Exidy.

Yeah yeah, and how much do those cost? I'm talking about a factory skid plate to protect the oil pan. You hit the nail on the head. If the exaust gets taken out, the car gets a little louder, you heli-coil the holes, replace the exaust, go on. If the oil pan gets taken out, you lose oil fast and probably over heat your engine before you even know it. I've never seen one. Nor on a legacy either. Jamie said she took her legacy to a dealership to get work and when she picked it up the skid plate was mounted.
-
So I recently got my hands on a skid plate meant for a 96-99? legacy GT. (SubieGal's old one, thanks for letting me have it Ed ) Thinking it would bolt right up, I grabbed it. In the past, I tried to fit a ea81/82 skid plate, but it didn't seem long enough. Well. The Leg GT plate is virtually the same size as the older one. The holes are drilled in different places, but it's the same skid plate. The Leg GT plate wound up having the holes in the wrong place too. I had to grind them out quite a bit to fit it. It fits to the same holes in the core support, (although my imp's core support only has two holes) and to the front two bolts on the little plate that sits under the engine crossmember. The older style ones mount to the rear bolts on that little plate, hence why I thought the old skid plates were too small. So yeah, the "hard to find" skid plate for the impreza has been under our noses the whole time. ea81/82 will work fine with a little drilling. I imagine the legacy 90-94 will be the same as the impreza, but someone will have to experiment to find out for sure. EZ

It's still in Seattle, so quite a bit closer. You'll take the Northgate Exit, (one after the NE 85th Str) and follow Nothgate Way Westbound for about 2 miles or less. *Northgate turns into Holeman Road after you cross Greenwood Ave.* wongleflute's is on the left side of the road when you get to the top of the Hill. Big orange sign. If you see a Mikky D's, you went too far. (not the mikky ds next to I-5) -
A lift is about 350 bucks. If you don't have that money, then you don't have the money for bigger tires and wheels, so you don't need to worry about how to cut your fenders, and you're just wasting time and cyberspace. Please feel free to read the FAQ at the top of the page, it will give you answers to a couple of your questions. A little common sense will tell you how to get more "clearance under your axles" as well.

How do you plan on doing the lift?

I've been under the impression it was in the evening. 5-7 would be perfect. I'm tempted to go find some snow for a few hours during the day. -
Great weekend rallycrossing in Oregon

Yep, he was much happier when I showed him how to disable the ABS. I wish I woulda taken a still shot of it, looked pretty friggin cool. Albi is a pretty nice guy, it was good to see him. He had the "first timer" excitement. -

Great weekend rallycrossing in Oregon

That was a pretty awesome Rally X. I was worried about how many cars were there, but like you said, they kept it well organized, it ran like a well oiled machine. I spent all morning kicking myself for not bringing my M/Ts, but in the end I think it was too sticky and we were better off with Ken's *doctored* rally tires. Ken and I co drove my OBS, his imp isn't ready yet. The little bastard did pretty good, considering it was entered into the Modified class, running against some seriously horse powered cars, full blown rally cars with their drivers ta boot. So Ken and I managed to get an exact tie for 4th place. Not good enough to get any medals, but good enough to get Ken some of those points he was hoping for. All I can say is I wish it had more poop. Here's Ken at the wheel with my wife for balast. We found the car moved a lot better with one of the two of us not in it. lol There were a couple of sweet lifted Soobs there too. Anybody care to take a stab at who this was. Lifted Outback with 29 inch Swampers. (only you who weren't there ) You probably would remember him best by his stunt at WCSS. -
The Rallitek Baha had the first bumper. I know because I was at John's in Eugene when we designed the prototype. Helped mount it myself.
-
And I guess the newest OZIFIED sitckers are too new for any of ya to recognize them. . . Note the drivers side of my front bumper.
-
Did you any chance see the pic of Rob's hatch going thru the water. He followed me. And the teaser photos don't even show difficulty of the trail we went on when we got seperated from the Soobs. If I had brought my impreza, it woulda been like bringing a pellet gun to a bazooka fight. I had my toy high centered for a second on the way down, notice the clearance I have under the doors. My imp woulda got killed right then and there.
-
Uh let me think. . . Guess it's cuz I have the TOYOTA. We weren't on just plain old snowy roads or plain old gravel roads. Don't worry, the impreza will get plenty of action this weekend.

Red Robin Meet and Greet March/April?

If it rains we'll be ok. Noah is always looking for a date. -
I back them up from time to time, I have a pile going back years. . . but hadn't for a month or so. It was in my mind to burn a cd the morning I came in to find I couldn't get it to work. . . Could be worse, I coulda got good and mad and smashed the computer like I felt like doing.
-
You bet. We don't even need a big group. Just about any weekend for a day. Just not these next two weekends. lol We have few requirements, all of which you met. All you need is the sticker. Guess I need to get some more magnets ordered from Tex. My last one finally died.
-
It took several tries to get the cds to load, had to stick it in the cd rom instead of the DVD like the instructions called for. Lost a couple thousand (no really) photos including mass irriplaceable ones of my boy. . . but it's up and running like it was from the factory now.

My computer went on the fritz. (or so I thought) It was actually the monitor, but had me confused for a week or so. I wanna thank good ol' Edrach for taking his time to come by and let me try one of his monitors. Doh! All better. And I wanna thank Tex for calling to vollunteer his and Nomica's help if me and Ed couldn't figure it out. Let's just say I "felt the love" that day bro. EZ
