  1. I guess someone's been here for a year and hasn't got the jist of things. . .
  2. In 7 years of the show, we've only had one incident of theft. And that person felt so guitly they fessed up and returned what they had stolen.
  3. I'm on the way to Ed's, you can leave his stuff with me.
  4. Appreciated Miles. I'm working with someone who thinks they can put together a TSD rally.
  5. Scott, I know you're just goofing, but if you photo shopped it for how deep it really is there, the water would be up on your windshield. The Toy is sitting at the edge. There are ruts running down the middle. Me too. Although we already have video of us crossing it while it's much more shallow. This last weekend it was crazy deep! One big lake, I was hesitant to skirt the edge in my Toy, and the intake on it sits about at my chest level. (I'm 6'3)
  6. Couple of things I've found. . . Remember, all of my offroaders have been ea81s, but same thing in water pretty much. A simple red rag tied over the end of the intake on your air cleaner can do wonders. It will stop water once. Minimal water will get past it. If you have a weber, then a antifeeze container cut to fit with the opening in the rear will keep water out. Webers seem to be most affected by water that drips off of the hod after the fan belt throws it up there. I personally thing that using silicone on a Soob disty is a bad idea and I'll tell you why: The disty is warm. Water near it will condence to the inside of the disty whether there is silicone or not. Silicone will just make it more difficult to take the cap off. Keep plenty of paper towels or 7/11 napkins in your glove box. Wipe it out, go on. Slow even speed is a good thing too. And Scott, the water in the water hole at Reiters is DEEEEEEP!! The toyota in the photo below had hydrolocked his engine going thru the not so deep part. The yellw rig has 49s on it. They're under. To give you an idea of how big 49s are. . .
  7. East of Monroe on Highway 2. Google map of Goldbar might show it. If you show up stock, there's stuff for you to do, but the trail I found (and most of the ones we do for that matter) would be a little rough on your stock Soobie. Feel free to follow us up it, but you go last. lol
  8. The first time I went there, I got stuck in the same spot you did way back. The water was deeper and stuff, but yeah. I got pulled out by a Jeep. With a chick driving it. There's plenty that can still get me stuck there. I'm still open all the way around. . .
  9. So what's up? Are there no more Soob wheelers in NW WA anymore? Is the date Scott picked a bad one? Why no responses?
  10. No, it's a jeep. Same hole though. Took almost an hour and we broke a come-a-long trying to get him out. Then I made him get in while I drove back in and out of the hole in the Toy.

    Rock Rails??

Sliding and bashing are different. But he's right. Adding a "slider" or nerf bars takes away precious clearance. Once you're mashed in your rockers, you've created more clearance for the next time.
  12. Sounds good to me. I went up there today and found a pretty sweet trail. Billy goat stuff.
  13. We put two bran new ones next to eachother once, they were virtualy the same size. We really couldn't tell which one was taller. If you've got the $, get the radials and not the bias ply. They're worlds different on the road. The bias ply ones get flat spots every night so the car goes bumpety bump for the first few miles every day. You get to re-learn how to drive your car on the road. They "walk" while cornering, so you have to prepare for extra wide turns. The biggest arguement though is the offroad differences. The wider tire can be deflated more without blowing beads. Ken blew both fronts with the bias plys once. The bias ply can't be beat in the mud, but lose to the radials everywhere else. Especially snow.
  14. Sharp. Very Sharp. I love the Hard Body wheels. Got the center caps? How does it do on the freeway? I got this feeling you're gonna be looking for somewhat smaller tires if you're running the stock drivetrain. You are right, or did I miss that thread. . . ? :-\ Turning radius is the shnit. It's one of the very few things I miss about Subarus while driving my Toy.
  15. If no interest for RR, you guys can stop by here at 7. Swap parts, shoot the shnit. Hell, I'll let you two drive the Toy if ya want. lol Noah can drive my imp to make himself want a perfect power.
  16. Ok, Sunday at Tex's. RR tonight still? You guys all 21 yet?
  17. Wednesday is better for me too. But feel free to drop in and see me if you want, I'll be home.
  18. They showed up in the mail today. All you guys who are any kinda local can drop by and pick one up if you have a lifted Soob. I'll give the leftovers to anybody else if you just wanna sport them on your Soob.

    Brakes?

So riddle me this. What's a good 27-29 inch mudder that will fit a 16 inch wheel?
  20. Sometimes there's no pleasing people. . . Mug was too big, the pint glass wasn't a mug. . .
