Truth is, Austin's got all sorts of experience and skills when it comes to wheeling Soobs. Imagine how that jeep would perform if Austin were behind the wheel. . . I'm finding it out first hand with my Toy. I followed a group of Toys up a trail I'd never been up before. They were all at least locked in the rear, me open. I made it up with less struggle than they all did jsut for being able to pick a line and knowing when to gas and when to ease it. And Chux, I believe that the ejs have a VLSD in the center diff. They behave as if they are in 4wd when off road. Not once has any of my ejs ever only spun the front wheels. In fact, they tend to send more power to the rear. If you pop the clutch in the dirt, the rears will dig in more than the front.

Bring tow straps, come-a-long, shovel, couple pieces of plywood and a jack at least. Oh, and a camera.

Power is really something else. On one of our HP Xmas tree runs, I brought both the imp sedan and the lifted tan hatch. Imp had good year snow tires, the hatch cooper discoverers. I drove the hatch up, Sean drove the imp. Half way thru the day, we swapped cars. At the end of the day, we both agreed that the imp was way more capable than the hatch. Just having the power to push thru stuff was awesome. Speakin of the HP's Xmas tree run. . . 'bout time to get to organizing this year's.

Probably not. I know enough to air my tires down. Don't worry, I'll be posting plenty of deep snow photos featuring my toy before the Winter is over. Mike, that's the road up to the snow park. Third exit, goes up parallel to I-90. The pic of my car is the spot we went up and barbq'd at a couple of years ago.

Locked. I won't delete it so that folks can see it's been resolved.

Bummer. I couldnt' wait till Saturday. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45950 I'm going back up Saturday too. -
Grabbed my Mom and my boy and headed to Snoqualmie. Snow got about a foot and a half deep at its worst. Beautiful day. Top of the hill. Took some work to get there. Pulled this guy out on the way back down. Told Mom, "Stand over there and take the photo. DOn't let him see the camera till I start pulling." Guy was embarrassed just a little. The little bit of clutch stink was worth it.

I guess I exagerated about how tall, but here they are side by side.

Here's the latest "up"grade to his bumper. lol It can be tough following a toyota. We wound up out at the cabin last weekend after all. Maybe made David believe he hasn't really been wheeling yet. :-p

Thinking about a Steven's Pass run...

I could be into some snow this weekend. Maybe just in the Index area. . . Snowqualmie has some pretty sweet roads in the snow park just past the Summit. I'd probably rather go there. Less drive. I don't know of much to do in the Stevens area, but know lots of roads off of I-90. I'll probably get the mudders back on the imp today even. -
Pretty cool. That sucker needs a LSD or a welded diff. It woulda REALLY walked up those rocks. Sounds sweet.

I wanna see the after he shaves pic. No seriously. It's about time you put a dent on that car. Don't tell richie though. lol

Right on Kelly. I took all of hose pics but 2. I was only missing for one of them, witnessed the rest.

I have plenty of room left. The kumho offroaders I have are actually smaller than these 225/60/16s. They're basically 28s, almost an inch taller than my 27s and much wider than an 8.50. A lot will depend on your wheel offset. The 205/70/15s on OB wheels were so close to the tower I couldn't get a finger between them.

WOW! Any one of those will be serious a serious contender for O/R Pic of the year. Beautiful shots!

Speakin of that. . . I think that for the rest of my life whenever I eat crab, I'm always gonna compare it to the stuff you brought down from up North.
-
Both will work. I went to the garage and managed to dig up 15 of the ones on the right, and one that's just like it but taller. Yours free (special bro price) if you wanna pick them up from North Seattle. I'm kinda close to the Edmonds Ferry. Pm me for my # if you don't still have it.

I believe Ed Rach can tell you the size and # that will work that can be bought from Schmucks.
