More better pics!! I'm totally thinking about it, but it's a one shot deal and I've been hesitant. What did you use to cut it with? You gonna redo your A bar to get some approach?
-
Probably the popping noise is from you not beating the walls behind the rear struts. You have to bash them back a bit with the hammer to keep the struts from rubbing. Go back there and look, you'll most likely see the marks from where it hits. The impreza will still handle pretty sweet with out the sway bar, ask Dusty Rider, I proved it to him last night on a windy road. The little 13mm your car came with isn't much anyways. I'm actually gonna put one back on to get rid of the roll, but I'm stepping up to a 20mm. If you decide it will be more of an offroader than a street mobile, leave it off.

You mean like this? to Sweet82

9-10-05 I'm gonna go up in the Toyota with my buddy Brian and his Land Cruiser. Saturday a.m. sometime. Anybody wanna go up for some wheelin? I mean wheelin' too, not just forest roads. You'll need to be lifted and have some kind of tires added if not a locked rear end ta boot. I'm still gettin the hang of the truck, so the Isabelle trail might be out. Thinking about the Wall. There's a SUPER sweet view at the top. Worth beatin' your rig a little to get there. Anybody?

Try a search, it's been talked about plenty.

Noah!! Hurry up and get back here! The rain is about to begin falling, Evans Creek is SCREAMING for us to get up there and cover ourselves with that good ol' WA. mud. That car is old friends with EC. Good for you for offroading it and keeping up with your skills. lol Deep ruts happen to the best of us. :-p

Thanks for coming out Samo. You too El Toro, good to meet you and your echo. lol (two Scotts) You guys are welcome anytime. Samo's got the bug bad! (btw Mudrat says your trans is ready) I took 'em in and let them do the hill climbs behind the cop shop too. Their cars were perfectly suited for that stuff so they had a blast. Found out a little about just what my new Toy is made of. I'm not gonna brag, just gonna say that I think I spent my money well! It goes pretty good. . . .thru just about anything.

It only looks like a Toyota. It thinks it's a Subaru. . .

I'm gonna try to leave my house before 8 a.m. Saturday to beat the ferry traffic. You have my address? I think you can throw a rock from your house and hit mine. -

I think Tex might be coming out too. Ken's rig isn't ready to wheel, can't find a transfer case. There's some minor wheeling on the property that I was planning on doing with my impreza. Your car will be fine. Feel free to come out just to get away from teh city and enjoy a camp fire. There's a quad out there to ride too. -

Scott. PM me your mailing addy, I've got an extra copy of the Subarubicon dvd I'll send to you. You'll get a look-see at Mudrat's Weeble Wobble and Lumpycam's Unhatched. I'll also add in the vhs to dvd copy of my "Favorite Footage" that shows my Bobbed Brat at the end.

Yeah, but then you have a pile of mud in your yard. lol

You have any more photos of you playing in the soob at Brown's Camp? I saw the one you put up in the Off Road Pic Thread, Nice Shot. Reason I'm starting a seperate post is that I'm trying to keep that thread as comment free as possible. Too much clutter accumulates if I don't, it would be 150 posts long. I went there with a group of Soobs 4 years ago or so. I recognize the hill in the photo, except when I tried it it was pouring down rain and had been for days. My hatch was open diffed at the time, the Super Swampers had no chance. Gnarly stuff.

Not even talking about Tex. lol

*all in fun, all in fun* Or, what to do if: I read a post earlier where one of our more prominent off roaders said that he didn't like mud anymore. Here's why, get this. :-p 1. Mud got in the radiator fins and made it run hot 2. mud got into the bellhousing, had to be cleaned 3. mud got into the air intake 4. it was hard to get the dried mud off the car 1. Water rinsed thru the radiator just after takes care of that. Mike W used to bring a squirter just for that. 2. Water poured into the timing hole while the car is running will clean that out, do it near the time of the mud getting in. Could even save your throw out bearing. 3. DOH! You gotta either cover your intake with something simple like a red rag, or go a little slower thru the mudhole. (maybe spfi isn't all it's cracked up to be) hehe 4. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA Join the club, play you pay. (literally) 10 bucks is the going rate at the local pressure wash car wash to get the better part of it off. I personally think mud is where it's at. We came back from the Rubicon thinking that we could have gone to Walker Valley and experienced the same degree of difficulty, but it would have been wet and muddy. There for funner. I hate dust. (if the said person is offended, pm me and I'll delete this thread)

Looks like I can make both of those, though I'll probably only show for the one on the 18th. Hopin' for heavy down pour. -
I don't want to copy The Austin, but...
ezapar replied to samo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Nothing wrong with copying Austin. He'll be the first to admit when he copies someone else. And he has once or twice. Flat black looks sharp against the yellow Samo, my hood is right behind. The one I replaced my scooped hood with is shiny black, so I'll paint it to match the sides of my imp. And uh. I can imagine swampers under there alright. lol . -
That makes me a little sad, but whatever. What can I do? Next year we'll just have to be more specific when we bargain with them for coverage. LOL
