  1. Go with a 60 series tire on the 15's, and a 70 series winter tire on the 14"s. I have used cooper brand from the fleet farm for a decent price and road hazard warranty.
  2. I have put carpet on the door panels, and on the headliner. Novel but jank. My las 95 legacy has camouflage fabric 3m adhesive sprayed tot he removable section of the cloth covered panel. Cloth with 3m spray would be neater than used carpet for sure.
  3. If any of you are wondering where the end title scene of emergency vehicles came from, here it is DUI crashes into 3 parked cars (TrashWagon10)
  4. Props to Dustin schmaus for shooting the video for me and the raw files. I have edited this up so far. There is more to put together, but some of the files dropped audio, so i will need access to the original tapes. I plan to do something like "A Closer Look At" series highlighting individual parts, such as taking a head down to the valves or disassembling a single component to its bare bones. I have lots of junk parts i can sacrifice to the video camera before throwing them out. Also, if anyone has suggestions for video topic, i'll need ideas. Thanks for watching and i am glad these videos are useful.
  5. try to feel for an 'in-between' gear on the dist. Mind you that the rotor will rotate some as the gear engages the crank
  6. Yes it will work. Just bolt on the carb manifold. The worst to expect with this engine and its miles is installing new timing belts and seals. It will get you another 100,000 mi for sure if you do so.

  8. Sounds more like an inefficient radiator or fan
  9. Since you mentioned knock sensor, the knocking sound could be triggering it causing it to pull timing and further compound the condition.
  10. maybe it overheated and cooked the engine temp sensor. Also check to see if the egr is remaining open at idle which will cause stalls.
  11. no, the dealer add on will have a crudely mounted stakl where someone would have to make a hole for it. By design, it looks added on. the add on unit has a big daiphragm connectd to some bracketry under the hood, with a lamp pull chain connecting it to the throttle. A factory unit would have a daphragm under the dash connected to the gas pedal
  12. The dealer cruise should be an add-on stalk on the steering column. The vents on the side of the car let the cabin air move through, behind it is a rubber flap that lets air move one way.
  13. Of i am not mistaken, the rear suspension changed the strut design from 2005 and up,to a bushing on the bottom much like an ea82, like that of the 2000 and up legacy. You could go for the springs in the rear, and the front struts should work.
  14. I found an article pertaining to subaru HG failures, and in the article it states that the 1996 ej25d used the composite HG before switching to MLS in 97. http://allwheeldriveauto.com/subaru-head-gasket-problems-explained/
  15. With ea82t, you should have the wherewithall to make major repairs if oyu want to keep the car up economically. Not that it is prone to fail, but don't spend money on something you can do yourself. Preventive maintenance is key, be sure of taking care of the cooling system to avoid trouble, and change the oil often enough. Watch the temp gauge like a hawk, as it is your most important gauge, more so than oil pressure.
  16. maybe the timing belt jumped? if so it can be causef by a weak tensioner, a seizing idler, or the bearing coming loose in one of the idlers. Pull the covers and have a look, run thru the timing belt procedure. Are you sure it's not overheating?
  17. google search the term 'ea82 timing belt' and your answer will bei nt he first results
