I too was in denial for years until the addiction was too much to handle and I fell off the wagon and purchased another 1984 subie wagon(Hence back on the wagon LOL)... And with the latest snow fall I understand why I always return to a subaru.. I just wish I had the knowledge of all the other guys on here when it comes to fixing them... Joe

Hey Paul I might be able to make it... Im suppose to move that weekend but the way the house is going maybe not... Say Paul do you have a nice blue low back seat for my 84 wagon???? Oh as for the goofs that go to Harry's well they also travel down to the ez pull.... Some how they even found our back woods yards.. I recall when I was 18 I could go to all the yards in my home county and get heaps of parts for anything... Seems now all the ****heads speaking in strange tongues found there way to my area and Dave's.... :argue:

Well stupid question.. what is a DOJ????? I had a sticking caliper just replaced... But not the rotors... Someone said a DOJ, On the tranny... What is this on the trans.. I think the boots are ok.... I had a guy repack a front wheel bearing on one side... What ya think...

Say my 1984 wagon's steering wheel shakes/vibrates when Im driving.. It only seems to do it when Iam not pressing down on the gas pedal... What do you guys think is the problem and fix?? Joe

See the stupid factory service manual says just push it to one side of the car and then lift out the other end... Just wont budge.. I thought it came out easy so that when I fold down the seat it would remove to carry bigger cargo... Joe Its a 1983/84 wagon... Joe

I cant get my cover to retract/roll back up... Hell I cant even get it off the car... I did the push in one side idea and pull from the opposite side and still it wont come out... HELP:banghead:

I hate to ask a stupid question but again I need a edge-a-ma-cation again.. LOL When you pull one out doyou just open the cover and reove the gears inside or do you remove the whole pumpkin ball...

I would say its a Grounding problem... I dont recall how exactly to fix it but I once had a 78 280z that did the same thing.. I recall taking a piece of wire splicing into another in back of the headlights and then grounding it to the frame and the light worked then... Maybe some of the others could better tell you how to do it... Or if your not afraid to monkey with the wires try it out some.. No never done that before... I removed the whole thing.. took the steering wheel off, all the plastic and the light/ wiper switches plastic part that houses it.. Mind you I was quick iin the junkyard with the crappy hatch.. My car I would be real careful and take my time... But I was surprised how quick it went.. I thought I would be cussin for sure... Thanks ALL AGAIN

Boy is this ATF stuff the Cure ALL for the comon cold or what... Im gonna stick a quart in my 4 speed trans when I change the gear oil and see what happens if it stops that Grinding... Joe

Well you guys are right again... The junkyard removal was a snap... 1/2 hour or a little less... Thanks to all of you Masters of the ancient art of Subaru-ty-doe... Joe Iam still like grasshopper.... LOL

A friend of mine has a rhino dealership and he claims it wont stick well as a undercarriage coating because who would have to sand the whole undercarriage.... Look in google search for POR-15 Or Master Series Rust. It seems the Por-15 you would have to semi clean the undrside... And the Master Series you could just wire brush it and then paint it on.... I want to attempt it on my 84 wagon but Im gonna have to let the winter have at it until spring and its warm.... Or if I can find a heated garage Ill be set... Joe

I was told that if you drain and refill our manual trans with ATF 1 qt and the rest 2qt of 80w90 gear oil it will help stop grinding issues when shifting... what do ya all think????
