  1. Axles will swap. you WILL need to replace the pedal cage too. It is not designed , or reinforced for a clutch. You cannot use the automatic box. Also, you will need to look at the crossmember. I believe that is different too. It's far harder than you think to switch to a manual tranny. Oh...how much are ya asking? Todd
  2. I was all excited today. I found this: http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/3964408485.html The only year Outback with the 2.2! Typically, TX cars are NOT rusty, but with this economy, lot's of northerners are relocating. (along with their rusty cars). This car has 123K and is in really good condition! BUT.. reaching into the right rear strut tower, my WHOLE hand went in the car! SO sad. It had an obvious repair to the outside and that was starting to rust again too. It also looked rusty on the rear suspension pieces too. I did not buy. Just curious....how bad of a body repair is this?
  3. Hey Guys: I got an email, (below) from this guy about some NOS parts at a dealership. They look to be 80's-early 90s parts. He sent me PDF files with part #s. He may break up the lot. He also said to ignore the prices on the spreadsheet, they are not relevant. You can also email him directly. gilligan371@gmail.com Best, Todd In a message dated 7/9/2013 11:20:12 A.M. Central Daylight Time, gilligan371@gmail.com writes: To whom it may concern, I am working with my former boss to help in liquidate his remaining Subaru inventory after selling his dealership. I was his Parts Manager. I know there are several aluminum bumber covers NIB along with other accessories and parts. He also has parts for late model cars that the new dealership did not take. If you would be interested at looking at a list of these parts please let me know. Sincerely, gilligan371@gmail.com Jeff Manning
  4. Could anyone tell me what the difference might be between these 2 automatic transmissions? (Both 1991 FWD only) TA 102AA1AA-J3 TA 102AA2AA-M6 I'm not sure how to decipher these codes. Thanks! Todd
  5. If you take that off , you will crack and ruin the chrome insert. You cannot flex that trim. They are majorly glued on. Consider masking it off professionally and paint over it.

  7. How much for the 2WD tank shipped to 76039? I have 2 2WD wagons and would like a good spare for the future. Todd
  8. There is a 4wd tank here....208-642-4966 or 800-331-9630 http://www.cbass.net/ Todd
  9. The tailgate handle is exactly the same as the doors. All you have to do is possibily switch the side that the rod connects too.
  10. In the Factory Service Manual is makes reference to the control valve that may be at issue with delayed engagement. Looking at the manual, (and not being experienced with automatics), this appears to be over my head to remove this and clean it. I know I can manage the replacement of the filter screen, but I would certainly mess up something if I dug further in. Is it even likely that the control valve is at fault? Is it just better/easier to replace than deal with this? Do you think a transmission shop is worth it to look at this? The tranny is at 102K...somehow I feel it's still good and that this issue, (see post #1), is something simple. Maybe not though. Thanks, Todd
  11. Jederick....send me your email address and I will scan these pics I have of your car from about 1999. The car still has the same plate #s. Are you sure it has a knock? Those engines can have weak oil pumps that causes noise. They tend to have a metallic noice to them when they are just fine anyway. Todd subaru3@aol.com
  12. I think this car belonged to a lady that called her "old blue" Robin Bowers was her name. I have a few pics of that car from the past. As a matter of fact, I sent an engine to her FEDEX for that car and it got lost. We got the insurance though. I believe a board member then helped her to to get another engine. She once asked me if I was interested and I declined due to too many cars. That's a sweet car. Keep it original and it will go up in value. Start jacking and swapping and it becomes junk fast. Congrats!
  13. OK...I should know this, but I'm getting old! Are the gas tanks in a Gen 1 wagon (78/79) the same as the 4WD version of the same car? IF not, can a 4WD wagon gas tank be used in a 2WD? I know that a 2WD could not be used in a 4WD, but possibily the other was around would work. Thanks! Todd If you have 2WD wagon tank for sale....let me know. Todd
