The 3 liter V6 liked to eat head gaskets from what the master tech at work says, but the later 3 liter that takes 5W-30 oil isn't as bad, and the 3.4 liter V6 is pretty good, but I don't know a whole lot about Yotas other than the 22R is a pain in the butt to do an oil change on cuz of where they put the stinkin oil filter... -
I dunno what you are smokin but the Pruis is NOT slow, 75 HP engine + 70 HP electric motor (and that's 70 HP 0-4000 RPM, forget the torque) with what is essentially a CVT (Uses two motor/generators), so when you plant the go pedal, the computer sends maximum power to MG2 + wraps the engine up to peak torque and holds it, so you basically have 140 HP that you can use at any speed. Trust me, they are not a slow little econobox like the Echo is (Same motor, except the Prius has a Atkinson cycle engine), I rented one on my honeymoon, outran a F350 going up a hill...

24-26 is average for a V6 from what I've heard, four bangers get closer to 30 if not 30, depends on 5 speed vs. auto and if it's a wagon or not... But not sure cuz I've never owned a Camry that I drove :-P (The new ones are rated at 26 city 32 highway, 2.4L I-4 automatic) -

I've got a CRAPLOAD of pics from WCSS3, I'll go dig 'em out at my parents house and send 'em to ya. Also have some from the Hatch Patrol meet @ Evan's Creek in 2002, and I have a bunch from WCSS 5,6,8, and 9 but I'll have to dig 'em out and burn 'em to a CD for ya. -
I always thought the EA82 cars looked quite a bit like the first gen Camry (In fact, an EA82 hood will fit a Camry, you just have to widen the hinge bolt holes about 1/8" on either side. I know this cuz I did it lol, everything lines up, just the stock grille won't fit (and I didn't have a Subaru one to stick in there at the time) And I kinda agree with the Gen1 Lego/Gen2 Camry similarity, although I always thought the 91ish Corolla front end looked a lot like the Legacy (Especially the headlights)

Clean the MAF and make sure you don't have any cracked vacuum lines. Does it burn oil? The 5SFE is known for sludging if the oil's not changed regulary, but Toyota will replace the engine for free if it's bad enough (Most of 'em just get a new head though). -
Leave the covers, they drastically increase the life of the timing belt if you run off road... Replace it with an OEM belt, or a good quality aftermarket one (Not one of the cheap $12 ones) eerm.. beltS lol haven't worked on an EA82 in a while..

Here's my $800 deal: 159k, LS-L (Loaded) Here's why it was cheap: PO had a new flexplate put in, and the shop that did it forced the engine and tranny together with the bolts, didn't have the TC fully seated into the pump... So the pump welded itself to the housing: and when it did, the torque converter spun around the pump drive shaft (which stayed stationary due to the pump being seized) and did this to the drive ears: (Had to use the shop press to get the TC out!)

Jessica went to the junkyard and gave them an earful today, they're going to try and source a motor mount and find the turbo piece... I gotta figure out what those parts cost from the dealer... (Especially since the junkyard will get the retail price as what they owe me, and I'll get the parts at cost + 10 ) I'm not too worried about it, gotta wait till the 18th of November to register it anyway, stupid Oregon laws... Just irritates me that I spent $950 on the engine, seat, ECU, and a tail light + trunk panel, and they fork up the engine...

That's how the Highlander Hybrid is, it's got the standard hybrid transmission up front (MG1 is connected to the engine, MG2 is connected to the wheels, computer controlled shunt + power split device (Set of planetary gears) acts as the "gears" in the transmission) and an electric motor that drives the rear diff directly. Also the A/C and power steering are electric, driven off the hybrid battery. The Prius and Camry Hybrids are the same way, just without the rear motor.

So I put the turbo motor in the neutered Legacy today, discovered that the junkyard parts puller decided that he'd just unbolt one motor mount and tear the other one and of course the turbo mounts are different than the non-turbo mounts, so I need a motor mount... And he decided to unbolt the up-pipe from the heads, losing the nuts and one stud in the process AND he decided to unbolt the intake elbow off the turbo and lose it... so I don't have that, or the intake hoses $900 for a stinkin motor and they do this crap... It's okay tomorrow he gets to deal with my wife Anyone have any of the above parts?

Almost looks to me like it's the idler that sits next to the oil pump, if my memory serves me correctly, the oil pump has like a lip around the edge of the pulley to keep the belt on, where the idler that's next to it does not, like the one that's sticking out of your cover.

if it's overfilled too much the internals will slosh in the fluid and cavitate the fluid, putting air in it. Also likes to blow seals, I'm not sure if a quart over will do it but be careful. Does yours have the spin-on tranny filter? you might be able to just spin it off, dump the fluid out of it, put it back on, run the car, repeat until it's to the proper level. Also, the marks on the dipstick are one PINT, not a quart like it is on the engine, so you might only be a pint over. Are you checking the fluid with the car idling in park? (If not it'll look overfilled)

I remember asking the same question at the local Tire Factory, I wanted some TSW Revo wheels for my car (87 hatchback) and he found out that they'd make me a set in a custom lug pattern but it was like $480 EXTRA, PER WHEEL this was also like 7 years ago, dunno if they still do it. -

Modify a stock airbox to fit over the Weber, chances are the idiot at the smog shop won't take the air cleaner off to check, and you could probably tell him it was a stock carb and they'd never know. There ARE emissions-legal webers out there, I've seen them, the usually have extra ports and junk like that to drive the emissions crap.
