  1. I'll look @ work tomorrow for the part # for the roll pin punch, I got mine from the MAC truck for $14.99 I think, it works great and doesn't bung up the roll pin.
  2. lol I found it... One of the PCV lines had popped off, it was the little horseshoe shaped one.. Must have vented somewhere that it didnt' affect anything until the boost kicked in but it seems to work great now Now I just need to fix the stupid transmission mount so that it quits popping it into 4WD when I hammer on it... :-P
  3. Try googling or eBay... I found one that works with PocketPC, plugs into a CF card slot...
  4. It's got the wrong grille to be an 84, plus the 83-84 4WD cars had plastic bumpers :-P Nice car though, let me know if you need any more parts, I have a crapload of EA81 parts in my shed.
  5. Stumpy's right, the EA82 heads are not interchangeable like the EA81 heads, since the driver's side head has the distributor in it. (Hence the difference casting numbers)
  6. It's a red light down in the cluster like was said previously, says "AT OIL TEMP" +1 for a tranny cooler (And maybe a trans temp gauge... Wouldn't hurt, esp for long drives...)
  7. Back to the low compression numbers: Did you have all four plugs removed and the throttle wide open when you did the compression test? If you didn't, it will cause a low reading... I'm inline with the others though, I think it's your MBC... My turbowagon doesn't have an MBC, it's all stock, but when you hammer on it it will spike to 15psi and then drop to 8.. (Methinkie it has a sticky wastegate....)
  8. We had one at Wyotech that plugged into a computer, worked pretty good but I can't remember the name of it, but the complete kit (OBDI + OBDII) was like $600 as opposed to $2500 for the Snap-On scanner
  9. Man that is nice, although the translation makes absolutely no sense... Don't think I would spend $6000 though lol
  10. The car now lacks power :-( Idles fine, seems to go good off idle, but the seat-of-the-pants dyno says that the on-boost power is NOT what it should be. It's not anywhere close to what it was BEFORE I put the cams in... Ignition timing is correct, and it idles awful well for the valve timing to be off... Turbo spools just fine (In fact it spools way sooner than it used to, especially revving it in neutral...) Any suggestions? It's drivable but not as fast as it should be :-P Oh, I guess I should probably mention... 87 GL turbowagon with 88 XT turbo motor, Delta 260 street cams (The "original" set...)
  11. I used to get 27 city and 36-41 highway out of my 83 GL-10, 2WD 5 speed... I don't miss the gutlessness but I do miss the fuel mileage! (Although it did eat many a Civic...)
  12. Intercooler's pretty easy, especially if you put a Spider intake off of an 88+ XT Turbo (Pretty easy, but not all that easy to find...) The main hose to replace is the one that runs underneath the turbo, it is a pain in the arse to replace, but it's a lot easier to replace it in your garage than to replace it on the side of the road. Also make sure you keep it cool, turbos like to crack the head if you overheat 'em too much (although if it's an 88 or 89, chances are it's got Gen 2 or Gen 3 heads, which don't have as many problems with cracking as the first gen heads did. I've never had any major problems with my 87 Turbowagon except I discovered that 20 psi + A/C + the two summits on I-70 before you get into Denver = blown water pump gasket :-P Had to limp it back to Laramie with three bottles of stop leak in it... But didn't have any problems with it after that really... (Moral of that one is if your wastegate isn't functioning properly and is feeding your engine too much boost, back off the throttle, even though 20 Psi is fun..)
  13. lol Mike got the nail on the head, someone ordered an automatic WRX... And my rental car was an 07 Prius.... Don't laugh, I drove 400+ miles on $25 worth of gas, and it'll out-accelerate an F150 going up a hill Not as much fun as an STi though (I know what you're thinking.. but it was either an 07 Prius, and 06 Scion xB (automatic) or a minivan...) So I went the economy route :-P
  14. Let me know when you head out of Medford, or wherever you crash that night. I have to work that Friday but I usually get off around 4:45-5:00 and I planned on heading up north shortly after that, would love to caravan although y'all will probably be there by the time I get off work...
  15. Did an oil change on this at work today. See if anyone notices what's wrong:
  16. I found four with decent rubber @ the junkyard for $50 Got 'em on my 90 Legacy wagon.
  17. Beats the bleak brown and sometimes white landscape of Wyoming. Lookin good man, hope to see you @ the show.
  18. Air suspension problems are usually with the o-rings that seal the air lines at the valves, compressor, etc... and are C H E A P to replace, although time consuming. If the problem is not with the o-rings, or a leaky valve/bad compressor, then the problem lies in the struts themselves, and if THEY are leaky, then it's $$$$ to replace, but if you keep the plate that the air bag sits on lubricated with a silicone grease, it should last a long time. Use a spray bottle with soapy water in it, and spray the air line connections with it, bubbles = leaky o rings.
  19. Whether he has the horsepower to back that up or not, I can respect the amount of time that paint job took, it may be "rice" to some people, but at least it's not a Civic with a mis-matched body kit and a spraypainted hood...
  20. w0000t the wagon lives! well, almost... At least it's not going to get made into washing machines...
  21. LoL no, that got sold like, 2003 I think... I'll be bringing one of my subies, and maybe my Dodge truck depending on how many parts I'm going to be bringing up to sell to people...
  22. I'll try n be there, is there a caravan comin up from Cali?
