  1. lol I towed my friend Shaun's Datsun 310 back to Washington for him last October, and we had to take his euro license plate off cuz it kept dragging lol...
  2. lol want to talk about a holy grail? Try finding a Syncro Doublecab. For those who don't know what they are, the Doublecab is basically a Vanagon, with four doors instead of two + sliding door, with a bed. Not all that uncommon, but of the syncro version they only imported eight I think to north america, and of those one was destroyed during transit. Def. would not mind a doublecab, those sure do turn more heads than a Vanagon, but I also wouldnt' mind finding another vanagon when I get home :-P
  3. That pic was taken up by the hospital in Corvallis, at the walk in clinic.
  4. Submerge them in a coffee can with enough oil in there (MMO works, or mix MMO with motor oil) and submerge each one under the oil, and pump the lifter (if it won't pump, that's fine, means there is oil in it) That's what I did when I redid the heads on the turbowagon before WCSS6, no tick...
  5. Finally got a decent pic of it last time I was back in Oregon http://community.webshots.com/user/hondasucks1983/ in the "Oregon" album
  6. ahh okay, not the oen I almost got :-( Did you get it from an older man who had bought it new? Used to be one in Albany that this older gentleman drove, he called me once cuz a couple of my friends told him I was a Subaru freak, and he needed a master cylinder or something for it.
  7. EA82 wagon with STi drive train :-P OR: Honda civic with a hemi OR: Celebrity with a twin-turbo Northstar :-P
  8. okay, turbowagon has started smoking. Only gave me a nice blue cloud ONCE when i stood on it going around a corner, but what its current habit is, is a nice puff-cloud if I coast down in gear. I found the rough idle/dying problem I think, found a hose that is sucking air that doesn't have a clamp on it, hopefully that stops the idle problems. As for the smoke, I really hope it's just a PCV, but if it's rings, I might be needing an SPFI short block in the near future...
  9. wait, so the car you just sold to Paul, is the one I almost bought from west scio auto salvage? Well, at least it didnt' get crushed.. The one they had, if I remember correctly, was missing one of the quarter windows.. I did manage to save the keys and the rear emblem though
  10. WEren't they called like MPV or something to that effect?
  11. Yeah it's a 2.7, but I have one in my shed all ready for it, just have to put it in :-P Thanks for the offer though, Bill... I might be in need of a short block though, depending on if I have shot rings or not...
  12. Hey, this is the USMB not C++ :-P There used to be a Dunkin' Donuts of 99 in Eugene, but last time I was down there was like, almost 2 years ago..
  13. Yeah there are plenty, Mary's Peak area, coast range logging roads, Snow Peak, Shotgun Creek, Brownsville Timbers..
  14. yeah if the title is in his name, and he went throught the legal process to obtain title for it, then the previous owner's title is null and void and he has no legal right to the vehicle. The fact they took 4 days and you had to call THEM, is very suspicious, I'd be gettting SOA and the cops involved ASAP
  15. I was THIS close to having one of those, 1970 4 door, from West Scio Auto Salvage, and the $*$*$@#$ crushed it the day before I came to get it, and the f*cker knew I wanted it and knew I had the money too, I was sooooo peeved..
  16. The work party might be to fix mine... Damn blown head gasket! (Or cracked head, one of the two... Along with a sh*tty tranny..)
  17. Bugs are air cooled, most vanagons are water cooled (I think 83 or 84 was the last year for air cooled vanagons) so the logistics of putting a water cooled engine in is a lot easier (Although it can be done in a bug)
  18. it must just be a Subaru thing, with people adding an extra letter.. ForRester ImpreZza and now TribeCca lol...
  19. yeah OnStar was in the LL Bean Outbacks (adn the H6 3.0 high end model too IIRC) but was dropped after GM flew the coop. Might have to go to a GM dealer to get it activated. If you don't want to go that route, here is a good article on hacking the GPS in the OnStar box so you can use it http://gps.hackaday.com/entry/1234000170038047/ shows how to put the chip into NMEA mode and feed the output to a laptop or palm PC or something, I didn't read all of it since I don't have an OnStar box to tinker with.
  20. Rust Scmust. Get some tubing and build a frame for it :-P (That'd be a sight to see, a "back halved" Subaru...
  21. I took a few pics, my digital was dead so I used my phone, it's 1.3 megapixel so the pics arent' too bad. Anyhoo, they are at http://community.webshots.com/user/hondasucks1983/
  22. I guess as long as the turbo wooshing noise doesn't turn into rattling and a cloud of smoke, I'll be okay.. I really need to put my intercooler on, and my BOV...and my 5th injector...
