HELP with axles PLEASE!! :)
one eye replied to audio_file's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Good to hear you got that bad boy on there finally. Sorry that I have not helped you one bit with the XT but I had to go back to work. Trust me I would love to go work on Axles rather than Drive a truck that just wants to break in half. I'll give you a call in a few. Jeff -
Sounds good to me but We'll have to talk Jordan into it. Jeff

All the bolts came out just fine, they didn't feel like they was anything wrong with the threads but...... Jordan and I have decided to start from scrach so we bought audio files EA82T. I just think that would be the best for right now it needs to be running by monday or tuesday Afternoon, so This is just quicker. I'll need all this info for later. We will be rebuilding it sooner or later. Thank you for all the help. I'm sure you'll see this thread come up again sooner or later. Jeff

Is there anything you can do If you strip out a head bolt in an EA82T. Me and my buddy Jordan went to replace the head gaskets on His EA82T and 3 of the head bolts just spin, 2 on one side and 1 on the other. I think that this is what made the HG blow in the first place. It looks like someone has replaced the HG's possibly before, and the water pump, but while tightening the head bolts they stipped them causing them just to blow again. I would like to know if any one else has found a way to fix this issue, let me know if you have!!! Jeff

People will just look at you funny as you pull around in the gas station, But I have never had any problems on the road with mine. Only in the snow, you have to kinda watch your self because the rear will kinda want to come around on ya if you are in four wheel drive, and in my brat in the snow it sorta wants to drive straight. Other than that Its all good!! Jeff

WCSS10 Location and Date Set!
one eye replied to WCSS's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
He Eric do you remember WCSS3. I think our whole camp was wasted the whole time we where there, and I think we where camped out right next to where you where camping at. I still feel bad for that one. But at least in this day in age, I'm a bit more mellow. Jeff -
I bought the water pump bolts for an EA71 from the dealer, They where $9.00 a bolt. and it took 2 or 3 days to get. I learned my lesson there. Jeff

Wow, I never know what you are going to say next. You seem to always say something crazy like this. But it is probably true. Jeff

Today Chris (Audio_file) and I Where at Les Schwab in westside Mt. Vernon, and We saw a Gen3 White Wagon. It looked to have oversized offroad tires on it. I was just wondering if the owner of this car was part of the good old usmb here. If not, I'll be sure and spread the word to the owner and let them know that they aren't the only suby wheelers in Skagit County:grin: Jeff

Which is the Better Offroader
one eye replied to The Dude Abides's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Any of the EA81 with a lift and welded rearend break axles. I would go with an EA82, that's just me though. My brat has broke a ton of rear axles and I just have got sick of it. EA82 seems to be the way to go. Jeff -
Maybe :-\ only if it rains, do I get the day off, If I do work, I have to haul 100 tons (no joke) of 1 1/4" minus into a parking lot. Oh and the truck I drive has no radio. Jeff

I heard that it's illegal, but that could be wrong. Jeff
