Attn Scott in Bellingham 30's are on
one eye replied to one eye's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
30's are on now!!! Jeff -
I would think that those where the ones that I got. I took them off a "camo" hatch, but one axle got stuck on me. and a blue wagon. You should have swung by my place. I was probably doing something subaru Oriented:) . Not only that I have all the parts you would have needed to do the "GD axle swap". But it's all good. I'm going to let my Brat lay low for a while, I figured I'll beat the crap outa the new Gen3 wagon for a while. I just hate the Idea of mashing in a quarter panel in on the brat. Oh scott by the way the Wagon Does have 30x9.50x15's on it now. Bad part is one door doesn't open any more but it sure looks cool:banana: I'll post some pics up later today. I have a job interview at 10:00 in Everett. So I kinda got to get going, but I'll put them up later today. Jeff

I think that may 3rd would be a good day to go up to walker and try out the new ride anyone who wishes to come, may come along. If this day doesn't work we could try the week before or after. And by We I mean I. Meeting place At GI Joe in Mt.Vernon @ 10:00am Rob, Scott, Will, Alan, jess, Bo, Kenny, Eric, Ken true2blue, Gloyale? any of you guys up to it? I'll ask a few couple of the other guys around here that aren't on the board. Jeff

Ya I know. You should steal it. Todd has one in the back of his shop. You might ask him. I talked to him about it a while back and he said something about it, but my A.D.D. was kickin in pretty bad that day, But maybe, just maybe he might part with it and send it to a great home. Jef

Let's find ya a Gen3 Will. Then you can come play the "watch this" game while wheeling. I can't wait. Jeff

Looks like two so far and maybe Walker, no date is set yet. Jeff

I used to "own" this thing about 2 years ago. It was faster that heck. It had good oil pressure and everything. I think with a little TLC this thing will make a fine rig. Nice Score!! If I find anything else I'll be sure and point it your way Chris. Jeff

The sun roof is hard to get used to just because it rains here all the time and somtimes snows, but I forget to close the dang thing. There should be an idiot alarm that goes off to say close the lid, but other than that it's great. All the cleaning stuff has burned off the engine so I don't have to play the "what is burning up game" anymore. But I love it. It is probably the nicest thing Tami and I have ever owned. I would recomend one to everyone. Jeff

Well I had a mullet I cut it all off yesterday, :-\ Didn't really want to but I looked like a hillbilly and I just heard that it was 2008! anyways they said they would give me 50 bucks for a finders fee, and that's cool to me. I rather have my parents be in a Subaru rather than a new GM car. I did get a free hat today from the dealer so that makes it all worth while right there:rolleyes: . Our Insurance only went up $1 from the 98 Dodge that we traded in, So that's not to bad I don't know how much it is a month for it though, I'm not the bookkeeper for the house hold. I'm jsut told to make money. Jeff

I agree last run was kinda messed up. It would help to stay together. Jeff

Other than the PS leak That looks perfect!! I wish I had one. Jeff

It seems for the last 2 months straight we have been able to get a wheeling trip in. I don't see why we should stop now, it only makes since, 3 months 3 trips. I don't know where or what day it shoud be but I would like to try the new wagon out pretty soon. It still kinda has that rod knocking sound but I think if it blows up I just put another one in it for WCSS10. Anyways who's up and where does everyone want to go? Lets go Wheelin' Jeff

This one is mine, Will made it, I have a gen1 bumper and a sign for a skid plate, Will just put tabs on it and bolted it on. The very bottom is bolted into the hole where the stock skid plate used to bolt up at. This one is Woodys. He also has a road sign but he has an A bar with the homemade bumper I hope that helps some Jeff

Bang, they call him quick draw McChris:lol: ya let him know in no time flat. Jeff
-
That is going to get his goat. Jeff

Cool I take pics once it comes out right under the intake. I have done it 3 times on a few of my other cars before, So it wont be anything new to me. This is why I have a cell phone and a tow strap everywhere I go:) the EA82 timing belts and motors in general kinda scare me they tend to like to break.......... alot:confused: , Don't get me wrong some are good, but some are bad. Jeff
-
that's cool:rolleyes: I used the one that where in there. That's gonna come back to haunt me, knowing my luck.:-\ If I do have a rod knocking should I just run it till things get real bad or till I get my other motor done? Jeff
-
The lifters are all good they are not knocking anymore I replaced those. no noise is coming from the lifters or heads. No like chris was saying there where only those little rubber ones in the corner
-
Ya you pretty much got it. That was what was going through my head but it wasn't really quite right. Jeff
-
It sounds like the knock is coming from the bottom end, kinda like it is right back behind the carb. right in the middle of the motor. not from the head at all. It almost sounds like there is a 10mm nut in the bellhousing area but I know there is not one there. I don't think you need to go back and retorque the heads but I might be wrong. I never did it on my touring wagons motor This may be a stupid question but what is the HLA? Jeff

All the Rvt that was on the new cam housing, was removed by me. I didn't put anything back in its place. I just got it really clean and put it back on. Jeff
-
Sorry, EA82, oil was up, filter was old. 89,000miles,one of those overseas motors, it had a blown head gasket but I fixed that. Only rvt looked like it was on the cam housing and there was not much there. Last night I change the oil and filter. Just went to the store and she is still knocking. not bad but you can tell it's there. Jeff

I just put new head gaskets and all that fun stuff on the new lifted wagon from Scott in Bellingham. After I got it done I had a little mishap with getting the flywheel bolt tight, So that came off going down the road, and the the timing belts came off. Before this happened though I had one lifter making a bunch of noise, so Chris and I seafoamed it and tried all that stuff. It still was making noise, Then I finished it off. So yesterday I took off the cam housing and replaced the lifters, once I got the cam housing off I realized that the cam was seized, It would not spin, So I had about 4 of them sitting on the floor so I just replaced it and put it all back together. Once I got it started again I could here a knocking in the bottom end of the motor do you think this could be related to having the cam seize? Jeff

Ok I remember what I did, GD you are right, I had a 79 brat EA71 and A, I think 86?? EA71 2WD 5sp, hatch I replace the motor in my brat with the motor out of the hatch, I was able to change the bellhousing in those two, since they where both EA71. Sorry I was Wrong:-\ Jeff
