  1. I made a fender out of a sign on my 79 Brat way back in the day, the brat was gray with an orange sign, I wouldn't do it, the state patrol played 20 Q's with me. I ended up with one of those faulty equipment tickets. :-\ Jeff
  2. I couldn't get any of my pics up on there, maybe I was over looking everthing but I couldn't figure it out. Jeff
  3. I think the last owner of that car tried that too. It didn't work.... But having oil to go through it would have helped. Jeff
  4. Seafoam wasn't able to fix my burned up rod bearing this morning, but I still love the stuff. Jeff
  5. I like option A, the most. The GM idea is bad you and my dad can go hang out if that's the case. Jeff
  6. Ya it keeps beat with the RPM's. Here is the deal I just went to the Bavarian Autohaus in Burlington witch is just up the road from me, This is the palce where The girl I got the car from last had it worked on. I went there and gave them the name of the girl and plate number and this is what came up: "Work Performed-Completed. Engine dragging badly... pulled trans. away from the engine and hand turned..... engine getting stuck....oil pan has big dent in it oil leaks everywhere.....engine is bad....need to r&r engine. Did compression 1-140 2-180 3-165 4-165 Noise out of #1 cylinder oil..Very low Added units R&R fuel pump timing belt-found timing marks off...R&R timing belt and reset marks." Total price $588.57" The day I bought this car the Girl forgot to say Oh by the way I never checked the oil and I burned the crap out of the bottom end. So needless to say I got F-ed And I'm not to happy about it. She said that it just needed timing belts and now I need a whole motor. The sound it makes is, Loud, and Very shot sounding. anyways I figured it out. And it sucks. I should have known better than to think I was getting a real good deal.          Jeff
  7. I checked the timing belts on this thing and everything is lined up right and I got it to run...........but now it has a loud knocking noise in the rear part of the motor, like #'s 3 or 4 on the motor or the bell-housing area does anyone know what it could be. Maybe a knock Sensor???? I don't know I just hope it is not a rod or valve. Jeff
  8. I'd cool it down if I where you uberoo. Sound like you have some really bad luck with a few of your stunts over the last couple of days. The last thing I would do is start "urban wheeling" in the middle of the night without any correct paper work on my car. I even get that done and I lived in the county back in the day, and I could have gotten away with it but it makes life a whole lot easier in the long run and cheaper. I just got a ticket in my Brat on Jan 22nd for no insurance I knew I didn't have it but I was stupid and drove up to wills house that is about 30 miles away. And I got nailed. In Washington State it is 539.00 bucks alone for no proof and thats what I got. But I got it all Legal now. So anyways I thought I might Add my 2 cent worth to something you wrote on here. Jeff
  9. Very nice. It don't get much better than that one right there. congrats!!! Jeff
  10. The Legacy I just bought makes for 10 subaru's that i own right now, And I still caught my self checking Craigslist for more. I quite drinking two years ago on Feb 28th so I think I repaced my drinking with buying Subaru's......Hello everyone my name is Jeff P. and I'm a Subaholic. But anyways The car should be bought and save it for a rainy day. The best part is, Is that even if you have it there and you fix it up a little here and there you can sell it for a whole lot more in the long run. It would be a good investment if anything. Jeff
  11. Just get it. I just got one for 200 bucks. I don't ever pass up a Subaru under 250. you can always use it for parts if worst comes to worst. I would go get it and fix 'er up. Jeff
  12. I don't know if it'll go up to walker. I think this one will be more for the road, and I'll keep the Brat for Walker and the mud. I would like to get a Legacy Wagon and lift it like that one on the AA lifts website. This is it I think this thing look really cool. Jeff
  13. Scott I checked my messages on my phone and saw that you had called me sorry I didn't return the call yet, Ive been a bit under the weather for the last couple of days. :-\ I'll give you a call this Afternoon. Jeff
  14. Thanks for the warm welcome. It's good to know that there are few guys out there Like me. The very first subaru I had was an 80 hatch 2wd with an EA71, then I got a 79 brat. From there on out I ended up with 2 lifted EA81's and Just latly I had gotten into the EA82's. Once I saw this car I figured it's real close to my house, Cheap, and if I screw up real bad on it I won't be out much. So I was one of those guys who was always going to be the die hard EA series guy for ever and here I am, Putting Timing belts on an EJ22. Jeff
  15. Right on that'll help a lot. I have about 6 or 7 subaru books but none of them went into good detail like this. And there was alot, lot of reading involved, without pics. I wish Subaru manuels came in pop up book verison:rolleyes: then that would be right up my alley. the links that I quoted did not work but the Endwrench ones did. Thank you Jeff
  16. This is my first post in the "newer Gen's" of this subaru Forum. I have had over 35 Subaru's but I seemed to have stepped out side of my box on my last Subaru buy. I have had Brat's, Gen 1 and 2, Wagons, 77-89, and hatchbacks, But yesterday I was on craigslist and I saw a 91 Legacy for 200 bucks, So I called the person up and they said that it had broken a timing belt back in 05, They took it to a shop and had it replaced but they said they could never get it running again after that. I pulled it home and put it on the charger, and about midnight last night turned it over. Someone has taken the mass air flow sen. but it was able to make a little bit of a running sound, or at least enough to let you know that it had fuel and spark and a little bit of firing over left in it. The real bad part of this is I don't know much at all about these kind of cars. All the old school ones are pretty easy to work on but this one kinda scares me a little. I just want everone to know that I might be asking some very stupid question's but That's the only way to learn. So here goes my first stupid one. Are wheels and bolt pattern on the legacy's are 5 on 100 I did a seach but there are a crap load of things to go through in a search with "bolt pattern" Anyways once I dive into this thing a little more I'll have a ton of Q's. Here is what it looks like nothing to great but it should be fun. Jeff
  17. I just hope that's not me, but You know you do owe me a pull if worst comes to worst. Jeff
  18. Since all this is way over my head I would just like to add to all this, I just want to see the big boom that it makes the day she lets loose and you end up shooting the bottom end out, and into or maybe even through the intake manifold. I don't hope that it happens but if it does I just hope the camera is rolling. If that doesn't happen I hope that it is the fastest RX in the States all said and done, Then I can say, "ya... he built that thing in my garage." Jeff
  19. I get the same stare from people in my brat It has a 4" lift . They are either staring at the brat or maybe at me and my sweet 1987 Dokken style mullet, heck maybe it's just the combo of the two. Jeff
  20. That Is cool, I want to lift a sedan, but I don't have one, so I can't. But if I were to lift one I'd wish that it would end up like that. Job very well done!!!!! Jeff
  21. I put anti seize on mine once I put it all back together, I hope to never have that problem again. It sucks! Either that or grease the crap out of it. Jeff
  22. Hey are you ever going to come out and come play with us? If you put a 2"er on your car you would be right up town. March 15th is a run to walker if you wanna come. Jeff
