  1. That looks really interesting... Let us know if there is a change in the overall engine's sound. Oh, that is the Famous Switch I found long time ago, in a Local early EA82T Sedan... See ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/114962-rarest-old-school-subaru-part-or-option/page-12 Kind Regards.
  2. Mo' info, here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/113907-lookin-for-a-front-lil-lift/page-2 Kind Regards.
  3. This is How I Corrected the Front's Geometry, back to Stock Specs again: The 2" SJR lift kit comes with small Engine Crossmember's Blocks to Gain Ground Clearance, I changed them with another Blocks... ...that brings back the Geometry to close to stock measurements, Now the Steering Wheel is Soft again and the car seems to be better to Maneuver. Kind Regards.
  4. What have I done to my Subie, Lately? Beside Driving a Lot doing hundreds of errands, I Corrected the Front's Geometry, back to Stock Specs again.
  5. Twenty Days Report: The Axles stopped clicking, unless I take a U-turn accelerating, And the Overall vehicle's handling is Better and Easier. The only downside is that I lost half inch of Ground clearance. But is better that, than keep changin' axles frequently... Kind Regards.
  6. I bet that the cause is embed among the Text of the First post, see: They want the photos to be sent to their e-mail address, Not posted here. I didn't sent any photos of my "BumbleBeast" because I do not live in the USA. Kind Regards.
  7. A photo collage of our latest family "Gardening" activities
  8. If the engine is the Subaru Original, then it is an H6, Not a V6. In my own humble opinion, very respectfully I kindly suggest you to avoid such project, because despite that anything could be fitted with enough time and money, the H6 engine is way too big for the Brat's engine bay... I've done something similar years ago, I placed another subaru's H6 engine onto an old school subaru wagon, and thus explains my user name here; but that was really a Bad idea, not only for the lack of space, but handling and braking becomes dangerous for the extra weight in the mere front... Kind Regards.
  9. Hi! You're Welcome! Thank you for your Kind Words, which I really appreciate. Awesome! ... Don't forget to share some Photos with us. Great! ... also don't forget to share photos of that, on ~► the LED retrofit Thread. Yes, here in the Caribbean, winter -usually- never gets below + 15º C over zero... ...so many US and Canadian citizens comes visit us during winter times. You do Not need an OBD / OBD-II Reader for the Older Generation of Subarus, powered by the good old EA engines, such like your '85 GL, and my '85 "BumbleBeast", because those older subies are from the Pre OBD Era; instead a port, they have a Red LED light, blinking under the Steering Wheel's Column, right inside the ECU, which gives to you the Codes by the number and space between blinks; see the Following document to find out the Meaning of the Codes on your Subaru GL, you'll only need your Eyes to catch them: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/47526-subaru-ecu-codes-for-1983-1988/ Kind Regards.
  10. My '69 Mercury Comet Coupé already reached 45 Years, all of them with us, as part of my Family ... ... Kind Regards.
  11. Here you can see how the under bumper Halogens looks like by night: There, the main Headlamps where off, I only had Lit the Corner Lights + the 8 LED's I added inside them, long years ago: More info about those, on previous posts of this thread. Kind Regards.
  12. Yes, instead of Halogens, my Subaru "BumbleBeast" has Especial H.I.D. Lamps that were made by "Retro-Solutions" in USA, those has around the normal Yellowish colour (5,000 K) and they also has Dual Beam Low / High, which electromagnetically moves the Lamp when you move the beam stick; with the idea of avoid Blinding the incoming traffic with their Glare: Low beams has a sharp cut in fron of my Subie, while High Beams gives you the feeling as if you are driving behind an enormous Stadium's Lamp. Let me Know if you need more information on the Subject. Kind Regards.
  13. OK ... it worth to share here the Link: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/150266-i-and-another-members-2010-outback-has-burned-oil-found-some-more-information-anyother-members-wsimilar-complaints/ Kind Regards.
  14. Yes, the older engine has MPFi = individual fuel injectors, while the Newer has SPFi = single throttle body injector. You can Swap them, but You'll need ECU & Wiring to be transplanted also... What's wrong with the older engine? Maybe we can help you with another ideas...
  15. I Really Like Retro Games, I collect old school game consoles, as you can see photos ~► Here; so, it is a Shame that I'm so far away... maybe you can share a couple of photos of the event? Kind Regards.
  16. Those H4 are Flösser with 100 High Beam / 90 Low Beam, Real Watts output; however this needs the Plastic Sockets on the Headlamps, to be Changed with Ceramic Sockets, to prevent Melting. Those has been working Flawlessly since December 2009 on the "KiaStein" so far... Also, I could obtain H4 Flösser Bulbs with 130W High / 100W Low, which are intended for use in Rally Vehicles, see their chart: The most Powerful H4 bulb I've seen "in Person" here in Honduras, was rated 170W High / 100W Low, for a Link ~► Click here, but those shall need a complete rewiring to prevent melting the wires and are Not intended to be placed inside Headlamps whose front lense is Plastic, those are "Glass Headlamp" only; Certain local aftermarket parts' stores sell those, but they sell the Ceramic Sockets along the Bulbs as well.
  17. Very Few of those Factory two-tone painted, Touring Wagons I've seen in person, but there are some in Latin America, those came with LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs, which means whatever the factory could stuff on them, because there are not much requirements, except the LHD and Seat Belts... Here is one example, you can see that the letters behind are in Spanish: Yes, I don't see the Roof Raised, so is not a "Touring" wagon, but that doesn't mean that your project is not Awesome... after seeing what you did with your sedan, this wagon might be Beyond Awesome for sure. Kind Regards.
  18. So, since I lost my Job after Fourteen Years, due to political reasons, (and I am Not a political person), I've been helping more people to Fix their Cars' problems, not only old-school Subarus, and as the Newer models has OBD / OBD II systems, I am really in Need to obtain a Good Scan Tool for these cars, because I don't want to bother a friend who has one, each time I need to use it. So, which one is considered as the "Best Option" balanced between price and usefulness? Somehow I am some sort of "Newbie" with this scan tools ... ... so please share with me your Knowledge, any advice will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards.
  19. ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/87523-how-to-swap-the-old-roundie-relays-with-standard-bosch-relays/
  20. In your case... ...Yes, I would install Coil Springs and get rid from the Pneumatic Suspension. Kind Regards.
  21. I was thinking about head gaskets also, especially after reading this: But, also he wrote this: So, I believe the issue might be caused by a mix of this two: weak fan and clogged radiator internal passages. Worth do a Radiator Cleansing, and if that doesn't help, then a second fan or at least a fan rewiring could help. Kind Regards.
  22. I Agree... ...only Loyales Can... Just Kidding The Auction for a wrecked STi is Good idea. Kind Regards.
