What is the "best" pre 90's subaru rally car?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to sumoco's topic in Rally/Racing
Those are Key Words. -
Don't forget that beside engine designation, colloquially EA "Bodied" Subarus means Old School Subies, while EJ "Bodied" Subarus are the Newer gens. EJ15 for Manual Transmission Basic model Imprezas, and EJ16 for Automatic Transmission Imprezas in the LADM. LADM = Latin American Domestic Market Kind Regards.

I hope that soon I'll receive a Rear Disc Brakes' set for my Wife's 2000 Kia Sephia, and thinking about changin' the old Master Cylinder as well; I found that the Models that comes factory with Rear Disc Brakes + ABS, have a Bigger Master Cylinder with longer travel and Bigger Booster, than their counterparts which came factory with rear Drum Brakes - without ABS. I came across this Photos; the first one belongs to the Master Cylinder plus the Brake Booster for the 7/8" (Non-ABS) Kia Sephia with Rear Drum Brakes, and the second photo belongs to the Master Cylinder plus the Brake Booster, for the 15/16" (ABS) Kia Sephia with Rear Disc Brakes, see the differences: I can see that not only the Master Cylinder is Longer, but also the Brake Booster is Longer, on the ABS (Rear Disc brakes) one... Should I change both things? Kind regards. -

Well, I knew that this project was not gonna be easy nor cheap, so I was expecting that somehow... as my local friends says to me, the "KiaStein" slowly became the most expensive Kia Sephia in the Country... despite that I'm not seeking luxury. nor looks... only Safety for my Family. Some times I wish I could sell this and get a newer "Used" car instead, but in Honduras, used cars are very expensive, plus I've gone so far with this built, that better I keep it and use it 'till it fails... then fix it and use it again... and so on... Kind Regards. -

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly ... ► The Good: With the awesome help of Mr. Robert, the dream of converting the rear axle's brakes on the "KiaStein", from the frightful drums, to nice discs, will come true: the part's box, which weighed almost 80 Lbs, is on its way! ... ... From New Hampshire to Florida (USA), then from there to Honduras. (Central America) ► The Bad: It will take "around a month" to be delivered in Honduras ... ... ► The Ugly: I'll have to get a second loan with the bank, since the cost of shipping and handling, plus taxes and customs clearance's duty import fees, exceeds the cost of the parts themselves; according to the information given to me today in the cargo & courier company, despite I chose the cheapest shipping of all: Maritime way ... ... -

The Local Kia Dealer was able to Ask to Korea for a couple of Backing Plates for Rear Disc Brakes, they wanted Lps. 500.ºº ( $ 24.ºº US Dollars) Each for bringing them here... so I ordered them, paying one, and the other will be paid when I receive both. -
LoL! ... ... I always thought it was Red, Dark Red, covered with Mud / Dust \ etc from Offroading, which made it Look like Maroon... My mistake... Kind Regards.

As far as I know, there is a Red Legacy (not impreza) with a AUDM EJ Dual Range transmission in your same city, Moab, it belongs to a Good friend of mine, whose User Name is "Superu" ... maybe you want to buy a Dual Range EJ transmission and do a similar "Superu" as the title of this thread says, here's one Dual Range EJ Trans for sale in USA: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/144426-ej-dual-range-trans-for-sale/ Kind Regards.

Brakes upgrade - XT Turbo - any ideas ?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to VertigoXT's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
The Brakes stops Pretty Good on my Subie, despite the Added Weight, Lift + 15" rims and 25" tires. Usually the Brake system on these Subarus does Not get properly bled, due to its cross pattern not followed as it should be done... Maybe your Subie's brakes aren't properly Bled and / or they need new Shoes - Pads. That is NOT for Brake Upgrading, that swap is for obtaining Rear Parking Brake, instead the Stock Front Parking Brake. Details here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/129779-the-definitive-rear-e-brake-retrofit-solution/ Kind Regards. -
This is Getting even More interesting ... ... According to the Owner, that Subaru Turbo Coupe is a 1988 Model, that says: "Loyale" and in fact it is from Europe; the owner lives in Spain. All that information was posted in Spanish in another Subaru Club named "Club Subaru Todoterreno" where I am also; that club is from Spain. Let me re-post what he wrote about that 1988 "Loyale" Turbo Coupe: This is the Direct link to that informative post: ~► http://clubsubarutodocamino.com/forum/topics/encantederrimo-senores Which translated (by me) to english, says: And even more interesting: a link to his complete Pictures Gallery: ~► http://clubsubarutodocamino.com/photo/album/show?id=1356688%3AAlbum%3A133225&xg_source=activity Let me know what do you think about this Unicorn... Kind Regards.

Yes, but those RX and RS are Sedans, and came without saying "Loyale" on their door's moldings, only "Subaru" or "Leone", Since it is Supposed that the Name "Loyale" existed after 1990 only. But, this is a Turbo coupe, Not a sedan, and is pre-1990 ... That is why it is very Rare, saying "Loyale" it seems no one has noticed that, but me... Kind Regards.
