I want 14s on my 2wd DL
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Subaru_dude's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I ran my 2WD (FWD) Wagon with stock height, with 15" rims and 25" tires for a while, no problems, just a small rubbing on the front fenders, during closed turns only... Also I recommend to move to 15" instead of 14" Kind Regards. -
What is the "best" pre 90's subaru rally car?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to sumoco's topic in Rally/Racing
Check this Videos, Third Gen Subaru Leone (a.k.a: Loyale) Racing in a recent Rally: ~► http://www.youtube.com/user/czechsubaruteam/videos Might serve as inspiration, Kind Regards. -
That was Fun. BumbleBeast was a Name I invented long years ago, during the late years of the 1990's Decade; I was studying Law at the Honduran National Autonomous University, and some months before my Graduation as Lawyer, I painted my other Subaru Wagon in Yellow; then I had the Idea of doing black stripes and painting the Hood in Black; so I had a Drawing of my Yellow Wagon with those black stripes on a paper notebook, and the Girlfriend I had during those years (Which now is my Wife) saw said Drawing and told me that Yellow with black stripes reminds her a BumbleBee... I Never painted the Black stripes to the other Wagon (The Dead 2.7 Project) but since I did that to this one, the "BumbleBeast" Dream came true. Kind Regards.

Yep! , You're Right. Also, long time ago I saved and uploaded the .pdf File of Numbchux guide, to a Web Server; let me share it here: ~► http://www.mediafire.com/view/edqqit6xq9tthx6/Numbchux_EJ_to_EA_Swap_Guide.pdf To preserve it, some documents tend to disappear with time... Kind Regards.

► EJ engine shall come out from the Legacy, along its complete wiring harness & ECU. ► Adaptor plate to fit between the EJ Engine and the EA Transmission. ► Some Modifications to the Engine Crossmember, etc... ► Also you'll need the EJ fuel Pump & Management. Don't forget to read... ~► http://www.numbchuxconversions.com/services.htm ...the Numbchux guide on that Swap. Kind Regards.

Dl Carb suggestions
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Flat4Love's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Weber carbs has a pretty Small, squared air filter Box. But you must not get rid of the PCV system: it sends the corrosive fumes created during combustion, from the engine's interior, to the intake manifold, to be burned along the mixture on the cylinders. -
Dl Carb suggestions
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Flat4Love's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Usually, people here preffer to get rid from the Crappy Hitachi carburator and swap there a Weber 32/36 which is Progressive and gives better low end torque, adds simplicity to the engine bay, and gives a Deep Boxer Rumble sound during acceleration, among other advantages... Kind Regards. -
did they make a baja edition brat?

Hello from Trinidad
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to ColinTrinidad's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Welcome! You must put your Question in the "Newer Gen" Forums, with further details, in order to get assistance... Photos of your Subie will be Great, we Love Photos here! Kind Regards. -
Welcome! You posted this on the Wrong Forum... but here is your Answer: Change that crappy hitachi carburator, with a Weber 32/36, it will clean the area from the Spaghetti of hoses, while gives better lower end torque, better response, and the characteristic Boxer Rumble Sound at full throttle, plus more advantages. See here for Photos & Guides on the Conversion: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/71510-ideas-on-swaping-a-weber-carb-on-ea82's/ Kind Regards.

85 Brat quit not starting
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to kayoteq's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
If it really blowed 18 volts and the tachometer went crazy during startup, "Could" have a fried ignition Module inside the Distributor... but only if the car cranks but never starts... -
LOUD Fan noise

It also could have loose frame mounts... Kind Regards. -
If you could make a Timing Chain or Timing Gear system that could be installed instead the crappy dual timing belts setup on the EA82 engines, I will be the very first Happy Costumer to buy such "Conversion Kit" ... "a Dream come true" ... like this: Years ago, I was "Dreaming Awake" planning on building an Outer Gear Set mounted on ball bearings to drive the Timing in the EA82's, like the picture above, in order to replace the Timing Belts and get rid of them ... but I concluded that it will be extremely expensive to make test, trial & error sets before I could make something to work, it is easier to do the Famous EJ Swap... or Live happy with the Long Lasting, underpowered EA82... Kind Regards.

XT Ride Height Question
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to rlpete's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Believe that rpholz is Writing about the Rear, not the front. If you look the Photos of the 2WD Vs 4WD rear struts that are on the Link I posted above, you'll understand why... Kind Regards. -
Yes, Pictures... we Love Photos Here! Kind Regards.

What have I done to my Subie, lately? ... Have you felt the Seat on your Subie, like Drivin' on a Rocking Chair? One of the four Seat Supports is Weak and tend to break on the EA82. to permanently get rid from that, I made a metallic reinforcement: The complete details and photos are Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/143836-driving-on-a-rocking-chair-fix-those-broken-seat-supports/ Kind Regards.
