  1. Since that last repair around five months ago, the Air Conditioner system has been working Flawlessly, thanks to God; and with Daphne lubricant, seems to being moved by the engine, using a little less effort. Kind Regards.
  2. This is the Big O-Ring that failed: This is its size: Here's the Set of new O-Rings and its Part Number: And, here are the new r134a and Daphne lube cans:
  3. My repair only lasted a month more, after posting that message, and the culprit was another Leak in the Compressor, which was my fault; let me elaborate: When I changed the small and thick O-Ring on the inner side of the Compressor, I underestimated the Big O-Ring on the outer side of the same Compressor and reutilized the same; only to fail in few weeks... So, I went on a trip to Capital City and purchased more cans of r134a gas and the complete Set of O-Rings for the Sephia's Compressor; but this time, instead of the Esther lubricant, I obtained the Daphne lubricant, that is the one mentioned on the compressor itself, as the required one.
  4. ¡Bienvenido Ricardo! / Welcome Richard! It is not EA82, it is in Chile, so LADM (Latin American domestic market) Specs; came with EA71 from Factory. Others with EA65... With same body style. Kind Regards.
  5. B = Before You know, "Before" and "After" at the timing marks of the flywheel. Kind Regards.
  6. Your Nice Subaru DL also has the tiny holes for the elusive in-dashboard mounted speaker, found on the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs, Subaru Loyale DL. See this example: https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122906-the-awesome-older-generation-picture-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1399660 Kind Regards.
  7. Welcome! Share photos of your build with us... Kind Regards.
  8. My father, the one who purchased brand new this Mercury Comet Coupé in 1969, and I, were about to do a little travel on it, for its Fifty Years Anniversary, and we just obtained brand new 20W~50 Valvoline's "MaxLife" motor oil, brand new oil Filter and a brand new electronic Fuel Pump, as the old one (also electronic, as I changed it two decades ago), started to fail due to low usage rate... when my Father suddenly passed away; he was 74 years old, he wasn't ill nor suffered from any illness, he went driving to a place, where suddenly got a fulminant heart attack. My Family and I feel very, very sad and the emptyness we feel couldn't be described with words. He thaught me how to do basic maintenance on Cars, in this Mercury, when I was a little child; I learned how to change a fuel filter, how to change motor oil, sparkplugs, radiator coolant, etc... and to be with him, learning and doing lot of things, always felt amazing, to the point that a repair felt very exiting. I learned many, many things from my Father, such like Honesty, to be sincer, to be kind, to treat everyone in the way I would like to be treated; to work hard... in fact I started to work at the age of Ten years old, alongside with him, and now I'll continue, like him, until God call me. My beloved coupé will run again, but without him, feels very empty. Kind Regards.
  9. Are you tryin' to sell 'em? if so, please show us Photos of what you have, next to their prices, so we could buy 'em from you. Otherwise, this is nonsense, we all have save spare parts for our beloved subies, somehow. Kind Regards.
  10. Also I had this problem with Sockets... For one / two contact bulbs, it is not a Problem, as I buy "Flösser" brand (Made in Germany) Sockets for 1156 bulbs, here in my little mountany town's car parts stores; Flösser bulbs are also available... ...but the Problem are the LADM (Latin American Specs) Corner Lights and their T-10 Bulbs's sockets; they had a weird three locks pattern, which I couldn't find anywhere. Kind Regards.
  11. Welcome Back! Start a thread regarding the rally car build. Kind Regards.
  12. Well, the time challenge has been met, successfully! Almost three decades and a half of continous ownership of my Subie, all of them running with this carbureted EA82 which is the original engine, having almost everything original inside it; and these last ten years, the engine has been running with the same timin' belts, coverless! However, my beloved "BumbleBeast" has not reached the 100,000 kilometers' goal with the same timin' belts, yet; thus means that the mileage challenge hasn't been met... So, I decided that I'll let this old timin' kit to stay there, working for few months more; I'll report here as soon as anything new happens regarding the subject; meanwhile I must better find a brand new timin' kit... Kind greetings from Honduras.
  13. I don't know if Photobuckshít is still working... thus means that I don't know if the following Photo will display here, but let me try: If the Photo doesn't display... it shows an Honduran Subaru impreza coupé used as cargo hauler, and the original Photo is displayed on this website: ~► http://www.rightfootdown.com/cars/thoughts/the-cars-of-honduras/ Kind Greetings from Honduras.
  14. By the Way, this thread's title must read now "Fifty (50) Years" instead of fourty Kind Regards.
  15. Here in Honduras I saw a grey Loyale wagon with old 80's, Datsun's six lug 14" wheels; and despite that they do fit good with proper offset, they doesn't look nice on the Subie, they make the subie to look older; but that is my very own humble opinion. I would like to share photos here, but I don´t know if the pathetic Photobucket site would let me... Kind Regards.
  16. In my case, the coil springs that I used, were obtained at a local Junk Yard's tempo, so they where not new and that straighten things up for me, because I didn't need to cut anything nor had them too stiff as new coil springs are. Any news on this ride? Kind Regards.
  17. Appreciated Fellows,My 1969 Mercury Comet is running strong like new, despite that this month it reaches its Fifty (50) Birthday, and it has been on my family since new, so we have half century of continuos ownership. The only thing that it might need to be replaced soon, is the Fuse Box, which is the only corroded part on it. it is sad but seems like a lot of great conversations regarding our good ol' cars, which are fading away on social networks such like facebook, and I wrote here with the aim of obtaining info regarding a suitable Fuse Box... nada.I need to find a new Fuse Box, or even better: a new fuse Box that uses modern fuses, because the one on my Mercury is corroded, and uses mini tubular glass fuses, which aren't available here...Please, let me know any ideas or experience you have regarding the fuse Box subject.Kind Regards.
  18. Other version of twin ports, the EA81S https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/155393-the-twin-port-ea81s-why-ea82-not-much-same/?tab=comments#comment-1300613 [/Hijack]
  19. Maybe this thread could be Helpful, also: ~► https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/130950-suspension-improvements-for-subaru-loyale/?page=2 Kind Regards.
  20. I've seen very few Tribecas in my Li'l country, maybe five or seven... Same number of Bajas and BRZ / GT86 Not a single Crosstrek nor Ascend, yet... Kind Regards.
  21. I hope that you find it useful, let us know the results. Kind Regards.
  22. Dear Friend, Please do not hesitate to let me know if I made a mistake and if I should hurry to change the gas + oil on the A/C system, to avoid future costly repairs; I am not an expert on A/C systems... In fact, I'm not expert on mechanics (you can read further, ~► here); I am self taught even on english language, so please let me Know if I'm wrong. Now, answering your question: The A/C system has been working since I repaired it, in the last week of the month of may, and my wife, who really can't live without the air conditioning, says it is performing perfectly. The only difference that we've noticed on the overall vehicle's behaviour, is that the A/C tend to rob a little more Horsepower from the engine, than before; like if it is now around 25% more heavy to spin... Besides that, it still is working flawlessly, blowing icy cold air without leaks. By the way, Ester and Daphne, are women names... interesting that they're used to name compressor lubricants. Kind Regards.
  23. I'm not expert on mechanics, I graduated from the university in year 2000 but as Lawyer... however my favourite activity / Hobby is mechanics; I started with my father, doing basic maintenance on our family cars since young child, decades ago; and besides of basic maintenance, and repairs, now I love to improve cars as long as I can, with low budget; I don't build pocket rockets nor have much money; but I always try to learn and to dare to do something new, hoping to not screw things up... with the kind help of God, and the awesome fellowship on these automotive forums, I've went farther than I ever thought, even in my wildest dreams... so Thank you for your amazing help and friendship, you're awesome. I've not posted very much about my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" because it is simply working Flawlessly, without a single fail nor repair since years ago, which is Amazing; however, I'll update this thread as necessary. Sadly we saw Facebook eating the majority of people frequenting real web Forums like this, where useful information is in certain order and persists; while posts in Facebook fades away easily and looks more like random data... I only access facebook two or three times yearly just to answer some questions from people who writes me there and to share some local photos; but Still I frequent this Forum trying to help newbies, at least pointing them in the right direction. We all were newbies once, isn't it? I try to help with my limited knowledge, is Sad to see fellows departing from the forum where we found a home for our Subaru addiction; also is sad to see how few old fellows here, are not trying to give real help anymore; instead, they keep saying "That's a dead plattform, sell it and buy something newer" or phrases alike, but... Where would be the Fun and the Personal Achievements, then? We love Subarus, and people like me are still attached to Old School cars; in fact, the more I see these plastic, weak and loaded of unuseful tech, new cars, the more I love my rustic "BumbleBeast"; specially being something that I feel like I built with my own hands. Something that always amazes me regarding this Subaru Tank, is that it keeps its natural "New Car Odor" which we smell everytime we jump on it, despite of all these years and miles together ... ... Greetings from Honduras.
  24. Firstly: Sorry for the delay in answering... Yes... the Compressor states that it must use Daphne Hermetic Oil number FD46GX and according to the internet searching I did, it is considered as a "High Viscosity" Lubricant, while having a Nº 46 viscosity. Then I also searched about the Ester oil viscosity number, and I found that it is considered a "Medium Viscosity" Lubricant, while having a Nº 100 viscosity. This is pretty confusing, especially for a newbie on A/C systems like me; and sounded like I just screwed up my compressor by going twice as thick on lubricant, until I read even more information, and I found this website: ~► Compressor oils [SubsTech] on which I found information regarding the subject, written in easy understanding words; and I found two things, one is that Ester oil is semi-synthetic, while Daphne is Mineral; the other thing I found, is that there is an ISO viscosity index that measures low temperature and high temperature flowing behaviour of the lubricant; which you can see in the following comparison tables: Daphne 46 Ester 100 And if you read them, the Viscosity index of the Daphne oil, ends being ~ 108, while the viscosity index of the Ester oil, ends being ~ 110 so, the difference is minimum, as far as I understand. I hope I didn't screw things by using Ester oil instead of Daphne oil... Kind Regards.
