  1. Where did you obtained those Blocks? ... Those looks like 3" Did they came with the Engine's Crossmember Spacers? Your Axles will wear ~ 10X faster if you do not Drop the Cross member. In ~► THIS Thread, are many Photos of a Lift Kit Install, maybe you could find them Useful. Kind Regards.
  2. Sorry, but I had to facepalm, if the Blocks really were installed as you stated, between the Coil's top and the Strut. Bratman 18 already wrote how they should be installed, between the Subaru Body and the top of the Strut. Let me Search a Photo for you...
  3. Your Front Strut Blocks, (let me post your Photo here, from the link you gave) Is hard to be 100% Sure with a Photo, but Seems like they have some Degree / Difference between the Alignment of the Upper Holes and the Lower Holes, and thus means that they're intended to be Mounted in certain position to allow a Camber Correction, so if you mounted them Backwards, the Camber goes to the Wrong side. If that's true, it Explains the Camber issues you had. Why don't you Try to mount them in the Other direction? Kind regards.
  4. About this: Maybe it isn't very expensive to send one to Argentina where that Subaru owner lives ... I'm searchin' for one of those intake manifolds here, in Honduras; but seems like People in my country doesn't want to sell the intake manifold alone, only the entire EA71 engine, which is scarce. So, do you have an estimate on How much could cost that intake manifold plus shipping costs? You can tell him directly, because that Subaru Owner is a USMB member too, his screen name is mam147, I added a Link to his Subaru Thread on his underlined name at my First post of this thread. Kind Regards.
  5. Thank you for your Kind Replies. Second Question = Answered. Third Question = Answered. Well, seems like they're Not in the Good Shape as you think they're (by seeing the old Photo) and in the Latin American Country where Mr. Mariano (The Owner) Lives (Argentina) is not easy to find carburator rebuild Kits of that vintage, and he is tired of importing those in pairs ... and you know how tricky a 33+ years old hitachi carb could be...
  6. Once again, thank you for your Kind Words. ... ... I always sign the Photos I Upload, and despite that my Name is JesZeK, "Loyale 2.7 Turbo" is my Screen Name here in USMB and some other Automotive Forums, (that user name was due to a Project I had that lasted ten years, of building a 2.7 Subaru wagon -now dead-, no such animal came factory like that) so it was my Signature only. That procedures are intended for the Rear suspension of the Gen III Subaru Leone, which is also known as the "EA82" or Loyale, ...and some other names... Long story Short, if your car is the one on your avatar, yes, that procedures will work; just be Careful following the instructions ... maybe is good Idea to print them and show them to the Alignment Shop, I hope that they will be able to do such adjustments. Good Luck, Kind Regards.
  7. Greetings, This time I am trying to do my Best to help a Friend, Mr. Mariano, who owns a 1980 Subaru GFT-5 Coupé, which came factory with an EA71 engine that features Twin Hitachi carburator setup. Here is a Photo of his Subie: Here's a Photo of that Subie's Engine Bay: Photos of the Actual factory intake manifold: He is in the middle of the Restoration process of that Subaru, and he really wants to get rid of those hitachi craps that seems like now they're bad beyond any repair, he dreams about to obtain a single carb intake manifold that fits his Subie's engine and fit there a Weber Carb. He already obtained a 32/36 Weber and the Trans-Dapt 2107 adaptor, also he obtained a Single carb intake that was sold to him as "For the Subaru 1600" which is the EA71, but the intake was longer, so we believe it was for the EA81 ... and he already welded with aluminium the Trans-Dapt adaptor to that unuseful -for him- intake manifold, as you can see... By seeing this Photos and seeing the Position of the Starter behind the engine, on a side, I want to Ask (To be sure): ► is that a Fat Case EA71, isn't it? ► Does the Twin Carb EA71's comes with Reversed Valves as the Twin Carbs EA81's does? Here is a Photo of his Original Owner's Manual about the Valves (in Spanish): Words in spanish over the Valve's drawing means: "Exhaust Valves" while words in spanish under same drawing says "Intake Valves". The main Question could be: ► Will a Single Carb EA71 intake manifold fit right to this engine, or not? Due to the Lack of Spare parts, we were crossing Private Messages, planning to cut the Upper part of the EA81 intake, along the welded adaptor, and cut the upper part of the Twin Carb EA71 intake, and weld the EA81 part to the Twin carb EA71 one, without touching the Water passage... Sounds crazy enough, isn't it? Please let us Know your Ideas about that, and the Answers to our Questions, which will be Greatly appreciated. Kind regards.
  8. Dear Glen, Many thanks for your Kind words, which are Highly appreciated. Follow the Rear Alignment Procedures: Kind Regards.
  9. Yeah, but seems like they could be Expensive and Hard to Find.
  10. Yes, you're Right. My "BumbleBeast" rides also with 15" wheels but only 25" tires which are Ideal for Mixed Driving. It has a 2" SJR Lift + Tempo coils on the Front, and my own 2" lift on the Rear (As described on the Writeup) the Ride is Stiff for a Family Wagon but it can Handle the Huge Loads I need to move + 5 people on our Family "Mountain Adventure" Trips, offroading on Weekends without issues, nor tire rubbings; while it handles awesome as Daily Driver during Week Days. Kind Regards.
  11. Dear Mark, I would Love to Join, but since I am Super Far Away is impossible for me... So very Kindly I ask you to post here Photos of the Rally, if you could. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  12. Maybe you can find some Useful Ideas on This Writeup: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/106807-improved-shock-absorbers-and-spring-coils-on-loyales/ Kind Regards.
  13. There's a Difference between Wiring for Manual Transmission and Automatic Transmission. So What Transmission does your subie have? Also, have you already checked for Blown or Rusty Fuses? Kind Regards.
  14. I Believe he want to install it on a VolksWagen Bug:
  15. The Cloud of Smoke? Well, thinking about that, sounds like something done by one of James Bond's cars in a Pursuit... Kind Regards.
  16. Welcome! In LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) the very last year was 1994 Kind Regards.
  17. I already posted a Link to this Thread on the FF1's restoration Thread, maybe the New Owner of the Subaru FF1 can find that EA62, useful. Kind Regards.
  18. The USMB Member 3Sub, found a EA62 engine, (Carbless) Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/141457-ea62/
  19. The engines more often used on VW Bugs are the Subaru EA81 (1.8L without timing Belts and Carb.) the EA82 (Same displacement but with Timing Belts, Carb or EFi) and the Newer Subaru EJ engines... you'll need an Adapter plate to bolt it to the VW's transmission... More info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/forum/29-vanagon-conversion-discussion/ Kind Regards.
  20. You're Welcome. The Subaru FF1 (star) Uses similar engine, there is a Difference on Dry Sleeve and Wet Sleeve design, more info: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/77261-documented-the-1970-ff-1-project-car/page-60 and Yes, you can post Photos here, we Love Photos Upload them first to whatever picture hosting website you want (Such like Flikr, FaceBook, etc... ) then copy the Photo's URL, then, when you're writing a post, open the green button above, under -between- the Smiley and the A. Button, paste that URL in the dialog box and the Photo will display on the Post.
  21. To the Original Poster: Please, post a Photo or Two of your Fender Flares already installed on your Subie. Kind Regards.
  22. Do you have Photos of such Motor? If it Really is an EA62, it is a very Old motor of only 1.3L displacement and In my own humble opinion, it does not worth the effort to do a Swap onto a Bug, due to the Lack of Spare parts around. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_EA_engine#EA-62 Kind Regards.
  23. Yes, also some of the Old Gen Subarus had illuminated switches; the tiny bulbs comes attached to a Rubber base; there are available LED replacements nowadays. http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/R509TFBK12-F4.8-Panel-Bulb-12V-1.2W-Black.html Kind Regards.
