Maybe I'm Lost in Translation here... When I Wrote about the Lower or the Higher Base Plate for the Coil Spring at the Shock Absorber's Body, I meant that the Local Subaru Dealer used to Sell the Higher ones for the 4X4 models, and the Lower ones for the 2WD (FWD) models. Kind Regards.

Well, Thank you for your Kind Words about me. About this: Basically, you're sayin' that I have the Information Backwards ... ... Well, I saw the Shock Absorbers on the Honduran Subaru Dealer, so they're LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) So, Very Respectfully let me tell you that: or maybe I am Wrong, or maybe You're Wrong, or maybe the LADM Specs got them Backwards, Because the Local Subaru Dealer used to Sell the ones with Higher Base Plate for the 4X4 models, Kind Regards. ► Edited to add the pictures, because Photobucket isn't displaying my images Please Notice the Different Position for the Coil Spring's Base plate in these:

Yes, because the Base Plate for the Coil Spring, is Welded at different altitude on the Body of the 2WD and 4WD Shock Absorbers, but the Shock Absorber's Body is equal. Years ago, I had both (the 2WD and the 4WD Shock Absorbers) at the same time, in my Hands, brand new at the Local Subaru Dealer, one next to the Other; the only noticeable difference (Beside the part Number) is the two ( 2" ) inches in the Welding spot for the Coil Spring's Base Plate on them; the 4WD had it 2" Higher than the 2WD one and that's it. I noticed that using 4WD struts added somehow a Lift on the Rear of my 2WD Subaru. I Believe that since beside the Base plate placement, both Shocks were identical; Subaru switched from selling both, to Sell as Replacement part, the "Universal" Shock absorber, which has three spots to manually place the Base Plate on the Strut Body; the Higher one corresponded to the 4WD Shock's Placement, the Lower one to the 2WD Shock's placement... there are two ( 2" ) inches between the Taller and the Lower spot. I'm not sure the purposes of the Middle placement, it could be for the XT? ... or maybe to compensate (Somehow) Worn springs? ... The Total damper Travel was 160 mm on Both. Photos of those Rear Shock absorbers, including the "Universal" one, are on the Thread whose Link I posted above... ► Edit: I don't know how much time Photobucket will need to reset their monthly Bandwidth usage back to zero, so the Photos could be viewable again, but if you take the URL from each image, it could be seen pasting it directly on the Browser... Yep, that was what I thought... Aftermarket / Dealer installed Air Conditioner; it could have a Backfeed provided Power. You can Bypass it by installing an alternate power source wire, but in some cases it becomes Tricky, because the Alternate Power source could make the A/C compressor to Engage each time the Blower is Powered, or even Worse: It could engage it all the Times, since it will be Receiving Direct Power, that could be rerouted by the old Wiring to the Compressor. Maybe the "New" Relay isn't good? I've seen many New Cheapo Relays that comes bad out from their Boxes. I Suggest you to Try with a Bosch... But also Be Sure that Power gets to the Relay all the Time when Key is in "On" Position. There "could" be some kind of Power Cutoff while A/C (and thus the engine) isn't Running, Depending on the A/C wirings. Kind Regards. -
Not "Exactly" a Lift, but More Travel for the Coil Springs. The answer is that the Base for the Coil Spring is Welded to the Shock Absorber's body, Two (2") inches Lower than the 4WD ones. Mo' info, ~► Here. Kind Regards.

Well, the Increased Power from the EJ22 over the EA82, Also the EJ22 is a common engine so you could find parts easier, and the early ones are Non-Interference, Which means that if the Timing Belt snaps, there won't be internal damage: EJ22 is a BulletProof engine. Swapping the EA82 with an EJ18 is Keeping the same 1.8L Displacement, somehow means too much work for Li'l Gain. Kind Regards. -
In the other hand, the Pontiac 400 could not compete with the Brat in Crawling Mountains in Muddy gravel roads, or on carrying a Fridge in the Back... I Have a '69 Mercury Comet Coupe and I Love Musclecars too, but each car has its own capabilities. That is the Nice part of Car's World: Each car is good, depending on what you need. Kind Regards.

Yes, I'm so sad and sorry for that... You can Not see any Pictures because I have uploaded all of them to the Servers of "PhotoBucket" and they have restricted the Bandwidth from 100 Gb monthly, to 10 Gb Monthly, and I'm using their services since year 2003, so you can imagine how many thousands (Literally) of photos I've uploaded there the Last Decade... Photobucket Sucks! See this Thread for Further Details: ~► Here. So you must wait 'till they Reset the Bandwidth each month, to see the Photos... Yes, you could cut the Honda Coil Springs to keep the Original Height... but it doesn't make much sense, since you can install the Original Subaru coil Springs along the Toyota Shock Absorbers and thus mean to Keep the Original Height. Kind Regards.
