  1. About these: The New Tie Rods looks Thicker & Longer... I Wonder if Maybe the Difference you found between the Old ones and the New Ones is Related to the part's use, Maybe the Shorter is a 4WD (AWD) part and the Longer is a 2WD (FWD) part, could I ask if Both are Subaru Brand, or if one of those is Aftermarket? Kind Regards.
  2. Also It has been Mentioned here Before: That has been answered as well: Years ago, when I used Ford Tempo Coil Springs in the Front of my EA82 Wagon, I used Non-Progresive ones that I obtained from a Junk Yard; so they has the same measurement between turns, also the ones I obtained looks somehow "Cheaper" than the New ones obtained by Kanurys; their part number is different too; so I believe that Kanurys obtained the stiffer ones intended for the V6 Tempo, while I used the weaker ones from a 4 Cyl model; despite that both are from Gen 2 Tempos. But The Kanurys' Awesome Wagon has an EJ25 and maybe soon will have a Nice & Heavier Bumper... So I believe that the extra weight is the Reason why he chose the Stiffer Coil Springs. Kind Regards.
  3. This thread continues here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/141647-dual-hitachi-carbs-to-single-weber-carb-1980-ea71-gft-5-coupé/
  4. Awesome! That is a Good example of a Clean & well preserved Classic Subaru! Kind Regards.
  5. About This... ...So, You're "Subarooing" a Toyota Pick Up? ... Very Kindly let me tell you: WOW! The Custom Work you've done is far beyond Awesome! I've installed 22R 'yota engines in a Chevrolet Blazer Before... ...But that is Changin' a V6 for an inline engine; but doing such a Swap you're doing requires Patience, Knowledge and High Skills; Can't wait to see Videos of the Final Product. Kind Regards.
  6. (I Forgot to add) So, the Answer to the Age-Old Question... ...for me is the Personal achievement and satisfaction when you Build an Old car to be a Much Better Car, Like TOsborn wrote. A couple of weeks ago, I posted on my Facebook wall, this: "When you want to be Someone, you drive a New Car... When you Know who You Are, you drive a Classic!" Kind Regards.
  7. Well, it depends in each one's needs... Personally, I Believe that a Nice Looking EA Subaru with Well-Done Retrofittings such like Better Suspension, EJ engine, Bigger Tires / Lift, etc... is a Way more impresive and Satisfactory Car than any Newer EJ Subaru which already came -Somehow- with those features... I don't know if I could explain the feeling... I have more people looking at my Age old "BumbleBeast" in a Red Light, even if I am next to a Beautiful Looking, expensive New Car, that along the Satisfaction I feel because that Old Thing is still alive, Runs and Moves because all the Repairs and Retrofittings done by Me, is Priceless... at least for me. Also, I Believe in the "Surprise Factor" which in this case is the Feeling you have when you Bring a Good Ol' Classic Subie which feels and sounds Robust and Metallic, and park it next to many newer thin-plastic Cars... or when you go drive it Uphill in the Highway, fully loaded and still you can left behind many "Ricers" ... Old Subarus has Strong Character, something that has been "Faded Away" in the Newer Gens, which looks so... "Generic" somehow. If I had that '83 Wagon, I will do an EJ Swap and install nice seats, etc... to do a "Custom Made" Ol' Car... or sell that half-done project to another USMB Member who could finish it... Kind Regards.
  8. Thank you for your Kind Answer! One Word: Awesome! Pretty Clean retrofitting Job, I Really like your PandaWagon. Kind Regards.
  9. Welcome! There is another USMB Member from Puerto Rico, Mr. Peter Caramanos from Bayamón, he used to Drive another 86 GL-10 painted in Yellow like my Subies, that subaru was Named as "La Abuela" (the Grandmother) it has Roof and engine lid in Black flat colour. Could you post Photos of your Subie? Kind Regards.
  10. Awesome Photo of the Panda Wagon in Action! ... I Like It! Could I Ask more info on your "Upgraded Springs & Shocks" Setup? Kind Regards.
  11. Adding to Ben's great Advice: I Must Add: Keep it "Cool" ~ Don't let it to Overheat. So Check the Coolin' System & Replace any Brittle Hose... etc. KInd Regards.
  12. ¡Si está muy Lindo tu Subaru! / Yes, your Subaru is Beautiful! Saludos Cordiales / Kind Regards.
  13. Yes, I Know... Once I had a Rear Passengers' Side wheel Stuck due to a Wheel Bearin' Failure while Drivin' at 60 KPH in a Boulevard...
  14. Yes I Know it is an Isuzu Trooper Sold as Subaru, as I already Stated above: That was an Incomplete Repost of my Post, used as Reference for the Pic Only. Also I really don't believe too much that Subaru made Dual Range Automatics, but some other USMB Members have seen them and posted about them since years ago, as you can read, Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/26031-1993-loyale-4wd-auto/?p=211122 So I am just Searching for Proof of their existence, then I found that interesting Photos of a JDM Subaru EA82 which features a Digi Dash with 4WD-Lo and Automatic transmission Gear Numbers... and my immagination flew ... ... and I posted that here Hoping that somebody could Help with more info in the Subject... Kind Regards.
  15. Very kindly let me ask you the reason why? It has a 4" lift, isn't it? ... How much you Dropped the Crossmember? Usually New axles are better than remanufactured ones, but that will depend on the Quality of Both. So, a Subaru Genuine Axle is Way Better than any cheapo Replacement; but E.M.P.I. brand are almost as Good as Subaru Ones. My Lifted "BumbleBeast" eats Cheapo -chinese- Axles every six months, even if I dropped the crossmember... Kind Regards.
  16. Also this Thread might be Useful: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/136206-motor-oils-and-brands/ I Run my Subaru "BumbleBeast" with 20W~50 since Long Years Ago. Kind Regards.
  17. I Believe that SAE 25W~ 60 is way more heavy than needed for that engine, Despite its mileage. This Writeup could be Helpful for you: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/126284-how-to-determine-which-is-the-best-motor-oil-for-your-car/ Kind Regards.
  18. About the Single Reverse Lamp Setup: LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Has always been the World's Oddball, so we got the USDM Standard mainly, but also the EUDM standard sometimes... without a Reason... If you follow this Link, You'll see that EUDM tail Lights in a Latin American Sube, sold in Ecuador, which Belongs to a Friend there: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/50983-strange-and-weird-subaru-stuff/?p=1144383 Kind Regards.
  19. Many thanks to You, OCDan, for the Photo. Now it Explains that the Third Gen EA82 Heads has their Own Casting, and are Not a Derivatives of the Twin Port Heads, Because Underlined EA82 Means Second Gen EA82 Heads. Mo' info & Photos ~► Here. Kind Regards.
  20. Beautiful EA81 GL-10! Is it Turbo or am I Wrong? I'll like to see more Photos of the interior & engine Bay... Kind Regards.
  21. There's something abnormal here: You wrote that even with the Mechanic Fan and the Electric Fan working together, plus the Heather blasting, the engine's temps where around 3/4! ... ... That is Overheating for Sure. So, Beside that your Subie's Radiator must be Clogged (and / or your Thermostat could be Stuck somehow), I Imagine that you Reverse-Wired the Fan, because in the above post, you descibe an even Worse escenario than before in the First post of this thread, where your Subie didn't had a Working electric Fan. Remember: Fans placed Behind the Radiator must PULL (Suck) Air from the front of the Car to the engine bay. That guarantees an Air Flow thru the Radiator when the car is moving, but if you Reverse-Wired it, the fan must be PUSHING (Blowing) Air to the front of the Car, which leads to have an air "Cushion" without air flowing thru the Radiator. So, I Kindly Suggest you to check the Electric Fan's Air flow direction and give us Feedback. Also, you might consider a chemical flush for the Radiator, you know: a Replacement from a Junk Yard could be as Clogged as the used one you removed from the car... and if your subie still runs with a Single-Row Radiator, you shall consider to Swap a Double-Row Radiator there, your Subies' Head Gaskets will be Thankful ... ... Kind Regards.
