  1. This is the Newest member of my Family: Mr. Honey a Golden Cocker Spaniel who also Loves my "BumbleBeast"
  2. Yearly oil Changes has work fine for my "BumbleBeast" and I, no problem so far, using Valvoline's 20W~50 "MaxLife" oil, plus the Napa 41394 platinum oil filter, since 2014. By the way, a local mechanic that I know, has a -new to me- Digital timing gun, which lets you put the ignition timing on the Distributor, in a much more accurate way; I've never used such a thing before, so he did the timing for me, on my Weberized EA82 engine, and after telling me that I had the timing way too high -around 21º- he moved the Distributor to 15.1º and... Wow! ...there's a Big difference, the Engine starts easier and accelerates better with 15.1º Remember that the under-the-hood sticker by Subaru, states that carbureted EA82's should be adjusted @ 8º +/- 2º (EFi Counterparts says 20º) but this Weberized EA82 performs best @ 15.1º as set with the help of that Digital timing gun; now the older light stroboscopic guns and other methods seems very archaic to me, nowadays... Kind Regards.
  3. Maybe a li'l off topic here, but... As far as I know, Subaru is planning to offer a Big double cab Pick-up Truck, based on the Subaru Ascent, just in the way Honda sold their Ridgeline. https://www.ascentforums.com/forum/9-2019-subaru-ascent-general-discussion-forum/6839-subaru-pickup-based-ascent.html
  4. A video of the EA65 engine running: https://imgur.com/gallery/fzRvOy9
  5. I know that the third gen of the Subaru Leone, also know as "Loyale" and other names, was only sold with the 1.8L EA82 engine in USA, but outside the USA the 1.6L EA71 and the 1.3L EA65 engines, were also available on the same platform. So here let me share some interesting details of the EA65 engined versions:
  6. Climate! ... Yes, we have a pretty stable climate here, never goes too hot nor too cold. Usually between 60º F to 80º F ... That obviously helps to extend their lifespan for sure. I've surpassed 84,000 kilometers with them, trying to reach above 100,000 as a goal. Kind Regards.
  7. A better oil Filter, for the EA82 A new Writeup, that you can reach, ~► Here. Here's my beloved "BumbleBeast", fully loaded, off roading somewhere within the woods, in Honduras. Kind Regards.
  8. Thank you, Sir. Also I missed a lot to be here, on USMB, it feels like Home I will post updates regarding on this subject, as anything occurs, but my Goal is to reach the Ten Years mark, which will happen next September, if the Timin' belts doesn't snap earlier ... Anyhow, the "Coverless" Setup has proven to be Better to help elongate the timing kit's Lifespan, without doubt; besides of making a service in that area / engine's front, much much easier. Greetings from the Caribbean, Honduras.
  9. Maybe you could find this Post... interesting: https://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/50983-strange-and-weird-subaru-stuff/?page=97&tab=comments#comment-1372612 Kind Regards.
  10. My beloved '69 Mercury Comet Coupe, is about to reach Fifty (50) Years with us, and the only thing I need to fix on it so far, is the Fuse Box, which seems to be Rusted beyond any safe repair, so let me ask you all a couple of Questions: is it possible, to obtain a New Fuse Box for this car, and Where? I really prefer to Swap the old, rusted one that uses crystal tube fuses, with a newer style one, as I've seen online alternatives for Mustangs and Cougars (its cousins), but I don't know where to find one, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Kind Regards.
  11. Regarding Wheels, my friend Thomas, wrote a great write up, about how to use a 6X139 wheel on these 4X140 Subies see it Here: ~► Kind Regards.
  12. Thank you for your Kind Words, which I really appreciate. Yes, I've changed just the ball bearings in the past, also on the outer belt's tensioner; but the main concern here, are the belts themselves. However, I'm doing an experiment here, to test if the timing belts are more durable by being used coverless on this EA82 engine, rather than being used with their covers. The experiment is about to reach Ten years, which is what I've been waiting, meanwhile my "BumbleBeast" Subaru has been used as daily driver on week days, and as my offroader weekend warrior, running on gravel unpaved roads, plenty of small rocks and dirt, and the timing belts somehow keep themselves clean, much cleaner than before, when they where enclosed onto their plastic covers which held inside oil, mud, dust, greasy residues... etc. Kind Regards.
  13. Thank You! I've done this LED conversion onto much more vehicles, but no photos to share, thanks to Photobucket... Kind Regards.
  14. Yes, there have been some other yellow coloured Subaru Wagons around, including one in the Disney's Movie "inside out" Thank you for sharing, Kind Regards.
  15. Needed Update: More than two years so far, and the system recently started to leak a couple of drops per week Awesome! Kind Regards.
  16. I forgot to mention that had to sell the Gates TCK299 timing kit that I obtained, some years ago, sealed in its Box as it came from USA; now it seems impossible to find it as cheap as I obtained it back then ... ...
  17. Needed update: Appreciated fellows, I've been driving my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" without touching the timing kit that I installed in year 2009, as a long term test, to see if they perform better being coverless, rather than being covered on their original plastic housings. So, this incoming september, they will reach a whole Decade of being functioning as they should, which is far much more than the seven years that lasted the original set that came with the car, when my father purchased it brand new; and much longer than the three-to-four years of average that lasted any other aftermarket timing kit that we used on this EA82. Please notice that this Subie has being with us, since 1985 when it was brand new; with more than three decades of uninterrupted ownership and daily use so far... this Subie is beyond awesome and has payed for itself and all its mods and repairs. This timing kit is about to reach 100,000 kilometers and I know that I'm crazy for doing this, but it still looks good ... ... However I am searching for another, brand new timing kit in order to change it after the ten years' mark / 100,000 kilometers as I planned. The lifted Subie is usually being drove crazily on weekends, on rocky / gravel \ muddy roads, and drove regularly on paved streets on weekdays, not having a single issue so far. Kind Regards.
  18. Dear friends, I am infinitely grateful for your interest in me, which I appreciate deeply. I've been in "offline mode" due to several reasons, but internet access is not exactly one of them, because despite living now in a rural area, in the high mountains of Honduras, there is plenty access to the web from different ways. I have been active on the internet since the late 1990s, and I have published my photographs that accompany my writings on repairs, since I started uploading them to Photobucket in 2003, I accumulated there, many photos (appropriately sorted in albums), which illustrated my write ups; so, the biggest demotivation in my life happened with the Photobucket fiasco, as I explained here: Also, after working for fourteen years in the same company, I lost my job (for being honest and do the right things), but also I was losing my health due to that job, which sent me to the hospital three times, so it was good, somehow, to leave that job forever... That situation finally lead us (my family and I) to move to a rural and quiet area of Honduras, far away from the hustle and bustle of big cities. I gave up my profession and now I manage a business where I have to distribute different construction materials and hardware, in trucks, from warehouses; where I have to take inventories, etc ... and I am extremely busy, with very little free time, since the job is practically non stop, except Sunday afternoons... Also, I travel often, I have had to drive through the seven countries of Central America, bringing parts and machinery, and carrying people too ... mainly in trucks, but sometimes in the car of my boss, and a couple of times in my Subaru "BumbleBeast" when the load is small. By the way, my Subie hasn't failed nor needed any repair since we came to live here, but timin' belts are about to reach a decade, under some sort of long-term experiment I've been doing with it... The quality of life is much better in the small towns of the high mountains of Honduras; people are more friendly and the downtown feels like being inside a big shopping mall, since there are restaurants, banks, pharmacies, clothes' stores, barber shops, electronics´stores, toy stores, etc, one after another, surrounding the different parks, and everything is so close that it is better to go and come on foot, than to use a car; but here you have green and blue mountains as background landscapes... My family has taken the move very well, but my wife, who is also a lawyer, gets bored sometimes and is thinking of restarting her career in this small town. Now we have a new member in the family, since my daughter adopted a golden Cocker Spaniel, which is very, very special... Mr. Honey Speaking of my daughter, I wrote the previous letter on Facebook, which was rightly reproduced here by "86BRATMAN", as an explanation to my absence from the social networks, because besides the demotivation from the photobucket fiasco, and the abounding senselessness from social media, now I have very little free time left daily, which I want to spend most of it with my daughter and my wife. I have many stories to tell and share with you and many new photographs that accompany them, which I don't know how to securely share 'em here... I am trying with "imgur.com" in this post. Photobucket was responsible for spoiling my writings from many years, all I could do with my past writings, was to create "offline" versions of my main writings on the most interesting and useful modifications that I have made to my beloved Subaru; same that are available for download, here: So, what limited my interaction here was the lack of time, plus the demotivation explained above; however, I hope I'll find out how to share the new photos I have taken, securely, here with you; and thus be able to write new stories... also I want to answer all your questions in the best way I could, (so please excuse me for any delay in answering); I hope I could find enough free time to visit here more often. I wish the best for you, receive a warm hug from Honduras, Kind Regards, greetings and Blessings. JesZeK.
  19. Computer's / Electronics Cleanser in Spray, is Safe to be used there. An Example: ~► http://www.microcenter.com/product/363671/Contact_Cleaner Disassembling the parts for cleansing is the idoneus way, but it might remove the sticky gunk without disassembling. Kind Regards.
