  1. To Rebuild an Hydraulic Rack & Pinion is a Real Nightmare... I Tried it years ago and Discovered that there are Three Different Measurements for the inner Seals, which subaru Marked with Different Colours: Blue (The Thinner One) Green (the Middle One) and Red (The Thickest One) One Rack only uses One Colour Seals, so the Different Colours Won't Fit each other Rack. Also after I obtained the Proper Part (The Subaru Dealer Sells the Three Different Seal Kits) The Thing never Sealed Properly... ...So I Ended Swapping a New (to Me) Rack from a Junk Yard. The New one had a Tiny ATF Oil Leak... Remember that the EA82's Hydraulic Systems for Power Steerin' are Designed to Work with ATF, not Power Steering Fluid. But I Switched from ATF to Power Steering Fluid and... Voilá! My Lazy Solution Worked... and Still is Working Absolutely Great! ... No Oil Leaks and it has literaly Years Working with Power Steering Fluid. I Used Power Steerin' Fluid with Conditioners and Sealers. The Only Disadvantage is that the Power Steering Feels a Little Bit Harder. Have you Tried to Switch from ATF to Power Steering Fluid with Conditioners? It Might Work for your Subie if the Leak is Still Small. Kind Regards.
  2. Missing Background info Here: Which Subaru, Model, Year, Engine... Turbo or Non Turbo... The Stock (Original) ThermoSwitch is Adjusted to Close the Circuit (Start the Fan) at 203º F on the EA82. Mo' info, Here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=128177&page=2 Kind Regards.
  3. Thank you for your Kind Answer! It is Funny but I really always thought that your nice Legacy, looked like a rescue vehicle, and I Like that. __________________ What I've done to my Subies? Well... My 2.7 Remains un-engined as a Garage Queen... And I've been preparing my BumbleBeast for a Heavy Duty Undercoating... Pics Soon. Kind Regards.
  4. This Really Looks Good! I Did something Similar but 4 Lugs... Just Moved 'em to a More "Standard" (Popular) Pattern, as you can see ~► Here. Kind Regards.
  5. Why don't you just Close it and Forget the EGR? Do you Need to Pass Emmissions? Because the EGR Design is not Healthy for the EA82 and Subaru Knew that... That is Why the Latest (Third Gen) of EA82 Heads came Factory without the EGR Passages. I Closed the EGR Stuff on my BumbleBeast's intake Manyfold... (To see Pics, Click on my Avatar and Scroll down to Find my Weber Carb Swap Thread) ...and the Engine performs Somehow Better without it. Kind Regards.
  6. Beautiful EA82 Brat! As Far as I Know, only the Very Late ('93 ~ '94) Brats came Factory with the EA82 engine for the Latin American "Oddball" Market ... also I Read long time Ago that People in Australia could ask to the Dealer to Buy New a Brat with an EA82 as an Special Option Back then... Is that One of Those (I ask Because you Live in Australia) or is it an Engine Swap? Kind Regards.
  7. EGR Pipe... Next to the EGR Valve on the intake Manyfold. I Don't understand the question Clear, Do you have Vacuum Leak?
  8. The Main Reason is Taxations and Legal Regulations... Later Subaru Loyales where classified as Light Trucks in USA, then Subaru Removed the Dual Range just for the USA market only... as Far as I Know. Kind Regards.
  9. Nice Video and the TrashWagon 10 Looks Nice... Somehow, the Yelow Light on Roof Top makes it Look Like it was on an Emergency. Here in my Country isn't Legal to have one of those Lights unless you are part of some Government Dept, like Fire Dept or Police, or Ambulance... but Certain School Buses has them too... Kind Regards.
  10. Also the Colour Doesn't Match between Doors... Do you have more info on it? ... a Web Link? Kind Regards.
  11. Welcome! Those Old School Subarus are Awesome Cars, but the Rim Question is a Li'l bit Difficult, due to the Lug Pattern they have: 4X140 it is a non common pattern and has few aftermarket support; 4X140 could be found on old Peugeout cars mostly (14" and 15" in Steel and Mag Rims) and Renault (13" and 14") and some other cars came with 4X140 but they are Rare. The Cheapest and most usual Solution is to Redrill the Hubs to fit a 6 Lug Rim, because two of the four lugs are already in position (Diagonal) for that. I Kindly Suggest you to use the Search Function from this Forum. We Love Pictures here... so Could you Post Pics of your Subie? Kind Regards.
  12. But he can Try Something First: Pour a Complete can of Seafoam TransTune, Drive it in First and all the Shifter Positions it does Move for some Time (at least a Day) then Remove the Auto Trans for a Complete Flush and Cleaning its internal Filters; then Pour Fresh Fluid there. Usually it Helps Many Auto Trans with Sticking / Clogged Valves; I Just did that on my Wife's Car with the 4EAT. Kind Regards.
  13. Beautiful Engine Rebuilt, Very Clean and Well Done, because you put the Magical ingredient there: Love! That EA81 will Last Forever with your Care... Kind Regards.
  14. ...or Click on my Avatar and Scroll Down to Reach my Writeups List; there You'll Find a Link for the one about the Weber Swap on Carbureted EA82 Engines. Kind Regards.
  15. Really Nice Brats... and the Blue SVX Looks Beautiful! Good Job. Kind Regards.
  16. Welcome! / ¡Bienvenido! There are some other Chilean Friends Here. / Hay algunos otros amigos Chilenos aquí. Nice Subies! / ¡Bonitos Subarus! Kind Regards. / Saludos Amables.
  17. Thank you for your Kind Answer. What are the Plans for your Subie?
  18. Li'l bit Late but Happy Easter from My Li'l Country where Subarus are becoming Orphan without a Good Subaru Dealer. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122189 I Like the Subaru Logo Painted on a Egg, Great Idea! We (My Family and I) Painted some Eggs with Colours, some Mixed colour Ones... Kind Regards.
  19. It Looks Very Nice, Congratulations! Could I Ask about the Front Cover, is Custom Made? Kind Regards.
  20. Welcome! And Nothing is impossible... in the Subaru World. We Love Pics here and a 3 Door is not Common... Do you have some pics to Post? I'm Curious about how the FWD 5MT worked in your Subie... you had to Remove all the Trans Stuff that originally went to the Rear Diff, isn't it? Kind Regards.
  21. I Really Like How the Two-Tone Paint Looks on the Subies... Red Over Grey seems to be Subaru's Favourite: 'cos Subaru Guys Kept the Idea since their First Gen III Leone (Loyale) Launch:
  22. This is how the Dealer Shows and Explains the Dual Range on the Legacy. It is in Spanish, a Screen Caption from their Website:
