  1. No, my Dear Friend... That is Not an Australian Subaru Forester, Just Look to the Side where the Steering Wheel is: It is a Latin American one. Kind Regards.
  2. Well, here in my Country we got 'em in Turbo (1984) and Non Turbo (1982 & 1983) as Far as I Know. Those are Pretty Popular here. Kind Regards.
  3. Not very Dificult, but you must be Creative to use a Hard metallic Wire attached to the Primary Stage Mechanism, and you must be Patient enough to do the Proper adjustment to make it Hook and Hold the Secondary in order to open it when the Primary has reached the Half opening. Also you must adjust it to let it Fully Open the Secondary when the Primary is Fully Open, not Before. And you Must Remove the old Vacuum Actuator Hardware for the Secondary. If you cannot do that or does not have enough experience with Carburetors, I Kindly suggest you to take it to a Profesional Shop and let 'em do the Mechanical Conversion for You. You'll avoid Headaches. Kind Regards.
  4. This... ...is a Good Way to Clean the Oil Passages that must have been Dirty, however, there are other Ways, such like to use a Motor Flush Detergent, etc... Have you seen how Tiny is the Filling Hole for the Oil to get onto the Hydraulic Lifters? So I Believe that Both, the Oil Pump Reseal Plus the Cleansing Procedure Was Needed to fix completely a T.O.D. And both should be Needed in the Original Poster's Subaru. To Reseal the Oil Pump includes the (in)Famous "Mickey Mouse" Shaped Seal Ring, who usually is the Culprit to the T.O.D. Because when its dry, it trends to be somehow "Sucked" and it lets Air to go to the Oil... Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  5. I Used to Run my EA82 BumbleBeast with its original Hitachi Carburetor, Mechanical Converted, you can Look how it Works on the Followin' Video: But even Like That, it Doesn't compare with the Performance + Simplicity Gain with the Weber Carb. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/member.php?tab=visitor_messaging&u=17344&page=3#visitor_messaging Kind Regards.
  6. More Latin American Old School Subies: This 1.6L EA71 GLF is in Bogotá, Colombia, The Car is Nice, the Cellphone Pics are Poor Quality.
  7. Yes, but it will Lower the Car around 2" Due to the Fact that the 2WD Shock Absorbers has the Base for the Spring coil Welded Two inches Lower in their Body, than the 4WD ones. But the rest is Identical. Kind Regards.
  8. Welcome! Let's Start with the Basics: Have you already tried to Clean the MAF and all the Sensors, plus double Checkin' for cracked vacuum Hoses and loose conectors? Pics of your Subie will be Great. Also you can try to obtain a Used but known good ECU from another Subie with same Specs and Try with it. It could have a Loose ground. Kind Regards.
  9. Yes, I Agree but Let me Explain Why I Wrote that it will not work Properly: I meant it due to emmissions Stuff and the EGR still Hooked; also if that is a Feedback carb... issues related to Smog stuff. But I Agree that a Mechanical converted Hitachi Carb works Way Better, because it opens when you Press the Pedal, (when you Need it) not depending on Vacuum and RPM's. Kind Regards.
  10. Yes, it Looks Nice. I Found this Lowered Loyale Sedan in a "For Sale" Post in Argentina, South America: This is a Cellphone photo taken at Night Street ... the only photo posted of the whole vehicle. Kind Regards.
  11. The New Ford Falcon... ...a Brand name that Never Died... in Australia!
  12. That is a Very Nice Vehicle and a Very interesting Project for sure. I've seen some (very Few) of those here, in my Country... I Wonder why someone will Need such traction here where Never Snows... For Muddy race Competitions? Well... Some years ago I was on a Traffic Jam on one of the Capital Citie's Boulevards; then suddenly I Saw one of those eight Wheelers 8X8 in the Bed of a Medium Hyundai Truck, so I was able to grab my Chinese Cellphone and shoot a Photo of it while Driving (well, still Stuck on the Traffic Jam) my Subie. Here's the Photo: Let me Know what do you Think about that. Kind Regards.
  13. Somehow I Found Amazing that no one has suggested yet, that the only REAL way to Simplify a Hitachi Carbureted EA82 Engine is to Remove that Hitachi Crap and install there a 32/36 Weber Carb. So, the only vacuum Hoses that Should Remain will be Three: The Vacuum Advance to the Distribuitor. The Vacuum accumulator bottle (For A/C Buttons and Push-Button 4WD). The Brake Booster Vacuum. Look my Weber Writeup, ~► Here. But if you Still want to keep the Craptachi carb, you must Turn the Secondary Stage of that carb to Mechanic (See about that) and cap almost every port... and Still it will not work very properly... Good Luck! Kind Regards.► Edit: Updated to update the Web Link on the Word: "Here"
  14. It is So Sad to know that Ben was in an Accident... Some time ago my subie was is such situation too: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=108922&page=2 But I'm Glad to know that your Girl Friend is allright.
  15. 4X140 is a Very European Pattern. We have Old-School Renault cars with 4X140 Rims here, in my Country. I Used to own a pair that came off a Renault; they were "Cheviot" Brand, Made in France. Also, I've seen Rims like This ones... ...4X140 on Renaults here, in my Country. Also, the Ford Anglia, which is a British Ford with 4X140 Rims... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Anglia ...have you Seen Harry Potter 2? Also, Audi had 4X140 on certain Models... Kind Regards.
  16. 4X140 is a Very European Pattern. I Guess that you think that Peugeot is the Only Brand due to availability, because Renault has Nice 4X140 Rims... I Used to own a Couple of 4X140 "Cheviot" (made in France) Rims that came off a Renault. There were No Old-School Renaults with 4X140 Rims in USA? Also, Audi had 4X140 on certain Models... Kind Regards.
  17. As you can Read, ~► Here "...my BumbleBeast has 140 on Low Stage (Primary) and 162 on High Stage (Secondary) On the 32/36 Weber..." For more info, read that Thread on the Link above. Kind Regards.
