  1. Do you Still Have those Electric Mirrors? I want to buy Both sides, if you want to sell or Trade. I Opened a New Thread at the "Subaru Stuff Wanted" Section, Here: http://ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=1064053 Kind Regards.
  2. Yes, that is more amazing... a V12 fits in the Subie's engine Bay. The thing that is not completely clear for me, is the V12 engine's Source... Did that came factory in any toyota Car? ... if so, Which one? Kind Regards.
  3. Holy Cow!!! ... Could you Give more info about that car??? Looks Awesome... an awesome project indeed. Kind Regards.
  4. B is for Boxer, R is for Rear-wheel drive, Z is for Zenith, as in the best... The Subaru BRZ has a New Engine, The engine is an all-new design called the FA, with a perfectly square stroke of 86x86 and a variable-valve control system that Subaru calls AVCS, for active valve control system. The FA was developed for and only used in this car, "at least for the time being." On the required premium gas, Subaru's numbers are 200 horsepower and 150 pound-feet, with reps at a loss to explain why Toyota rates the same engine – that Subaru builds – at 197 horsepower. The FA is smaller than the Impreza's FB engine, achieved with items such as a shorter and lower intake manifold. More can be Read here. Kind Regards.
  5. Well, I Dismissed the idea of the PCV Suckin' oil, when I Readed This: That's Why I asked: The answer was: The Blue Smoke isn't always "Visible" because some engines that suck oil thru the Valves' Seals, only suck it to the cam when the engine is Working, you know: in Gear and Higher RPM's. Then, the Smoke will go fast away from the Car and you'll not be able to identify properly the Situation, Specially if you Tried to "Visualize" the Smoke from the Rear view mirror while Driving. My vote is on the Valves' Seals. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  6. I'm Glad to know that your Subie is Developing so Great! Could I Kindly ask you More info about the Torque Cams? Thanks ... ...
  7. I Like That! Well... Have you Changed the Valves' Seals? It could be Burning the oil and maybe you haven't noticed the Blue Smoke... Yet.
  8. Here's part of the Original Brochure, where that pic appeared:
  9. Then, I came across this Pictures: Seems like a Custom Build, Similar to the Original Safari setup.
  10. Back in the Early 1980's, Subaru developed a High Performance, Racing Version of their Twin Carb EA81S (S = Sport, means Reversed Valves) engine; that instead of twin Hitachi carburetors on a single intake manifold, featured twin Weber carburetors, each one mounted directly over each Head, to improve performance. They Tested that EA81S with Factory Twin Webers on the Safari Rally. Let me share some photos of it with you: Here's part of the Original Brochure: Closer view of that Japanese Brochure: Closer View of the Engine in that Pic, look at the "S" letter on the Valve Covers: Seems like That engine was Tested in a Hatchback too: Some of the Subarus prepared for the Safari Rally, that featured Twin Weber Carburetors' on their EA81S engines from factory, were sold as Subaru Leone RX in Japan and also in New Zealand, where I found one for sale, online. (Then I found another one for sale, but in Japan) Here's a Video of one of those especial Subaru Leone RX with Twin Webers, Racing in the Safari Rally: At time 12:34 you can see the twin webers ... ... Kind Regards. ► Edited to add the Video.
  11. About the Special High Performance (Racing) EA Twin Carb engine... Here you got Pics to see: Here, as part of a Japanese Brochure: Close View of the Engine in that Pic: Seems like That engine was Tested in a Hatchback too: The "Urban Legend" Says that the Safari Rally RX's were Sold from Japan, one of them is actually in New Zealand: According to the Friends at Ausubaru.com. Kind Regards.
  12. That is Because very Few were made... Subaru Built a Special Twin Carbs EA Engine with High Performance and Tested it in the "Safari Rally" in the early 1980's. However, the Engine in the Pics above, seems to be Custom Made.
  13. Yes, is the Same but Older Model. That Ford Courier came here Also named as "Mazda Sundowner" Short time after that, it became the Mazda B2000... ...and Continued sales with that name untill 2006. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_B-Series#Fourth_generation_.281978.E2.80.931985.29 Here you can see the Life timespan for the Ford Courier Name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Courier The "Made in Brazil" one is Still in Production with that name: Ford Courier... That's the model we have in Latin America. Kind Regards.
  14. I'm not 100% Sure yet, but I Believe this engine belongs to another USMB Friend... I already sent a PM to him, so I'll wait for his Answer. If that is his Engine, I'll kindly ask him to post more info about it here. Kind Regards.
  15. You could fix things easy: Swap a Weber there! Also, for the amount of Blown-by Oil to the PCV system, I had the same issue in my BumbleBeast, so I Fixed it Running an Oil Catch Can. Kind Regards.
  16. Welcome! That is a Bad Relay issue... I Kindly Suggest you to Read this Thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=90403 I Hope it will be Helpful. Kind Regards.
  17. Welcome! I Like the Second Photo, of the "sold" impreza...
  18. For an EA81 engine, if you want Simple and Easy, I Kindly suggest you to Retrofit a Carburetor from a Datsun or Old Nissan, those are Hitachi as the one that came factory with the EA81; you could take off the one on there and search for a Datsun carb with matching Base and for Similar displacement. (1.8L) I've done that before a couple of Times... Simple & Easy but Doesn't outperform the Stock one nor the Weber. Kind Regards.
  19. Thank you for Posting the Comparison Photos and the GD's Great idea about the EJ Starter on the EA Engine, I'm sure it will be So Useful. I'm Glad to Know KC is Again on the Road. Kind Regards.
  20. Welcome! The Weber Carb will add a li'l amount of Extra Low-end Torque, Ideal for a Small Tractor for Sure. But it Won't "Bolt in" ... You'll Need an Adaptor Plate, either from Redline or TransDapt. Could I Ask if you could post Pictures here of your Tractor, as Work advance? Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  21. That is Why Subaru Made the Third Gen of EA82 Heads with all that Problems (including the Weakness that leaded to a Crack between Valves) Solved. For those who don't Know or Don't Remember: first EA82 Heads: has "EA82" Alone, stamped on Them second gen EA82 Heads: has "EA82" Underlined on Them. third EA82 Heads: has "[EA82]" Surrounded by a Square and Doesn't have EGR Passages The Third Gen EA82 Heads didn't came stock on Any Engine, I Obtained mines for my BumbleBeast Long Years Ago at the Dealer; Those were Improved Replacement Heads for the EA82. Kind Regards.
  22. Seems like I'm the First one investigating for a Cooler temp Thermo Switch. So, the Thread measurements for the Original Subaru Thermo Switch, are: Yes, 16 X 1.5 Pitch... interesting, since Many Many cars came with that Same Measurement for Thermo Switches, according to the Beck Arrnley Thermoswitch Listings. Beck Arnley Thermo Switches are Made in italy, of Good Quality Brass, I Found the Replacement Right for the EA82 engine:
  23. If there's No Spark at all when Crankin' ... There's your Subie's Problem. So, I Kindly suggest to Check the Distribuitor itself for anything Loose, inside and around. Good Luck!
