This is How I Bolted-on the New Slim electric fan: I used two thin pieces of metal plate (1/2" wide X 1/8" thick, one on the left side and one on the right side) between the radiator and the fan's mounts to act as a washer for the Screws and spacer for the fan at the same time.

When I took out the Honduran-Made double row Radiator, I Noticed that its paint was almost gone and had some scratches, as you can see below: This is how it looked like after being in its place for more than ten years of non-stopping hard work and it still worked fine, but I Took it to the Radiator Shop for Maintenance, so they could check for Leaks and repair if needed.

My 1985 BumbleBeast came Running from California (USA) to my Country (Honduras) that year, My Familiy and I have Traveled All Across Central-America with it; Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa-Rica and Panama... Always Fully Loaded with 4 or 5 people & Baggage... Something interesting I've found on the EA82's is that the More they Run, the Better they Behave!!! Have you noticed that? Kind Regards.

The Local subaru dealer sold some of those Coupes in the 1980's era, I saw one with the Late (Fat Case) EA71. Yes, the Coupes for Latin america and asia came with 1.6L engines, the 1.8 was an option. Kind Regards. -
when putting 14's on my gl wagon
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to noob2soob22's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
First of all, You'll Need the 14" Rims ... ... Peugeot (pug) are the usual, for the 4X140 Old-School subaru setup. After that, you won't need to "Play" with the Suspension, unless you want to put Really Big Tires... Then you'll need a Lift kit for your GL. -

Lookin' for a Front Li'l Lift
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank You, I'm Glad that you Liked it ... ... Your Lifted EA81 wagon Looks Awesome! Regarding the Lengthening job to the Steering Shaft's linkage, this is exactly what I did: Because: However, then Gloyale posted this very interesting information: Taken from Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/153748-steering-extension-length-ratio-to-lift-block/ I edited this post because such information is worth to be Saved for Future References. Lookin' for a Front Li'l Lift
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Found interesting that No one said on the other Lift Threads, that when you Drop the engine Crossmember (and with that the engine sits Lower on the Engine bay); the Pulley driven fan, found on some EA82's will Hit its surrounding Frame that is mounted on the Radiator! I Know it is Logical... but it worth be written here because someone could forget about that and Damage the Fan. Kind Regards.- 88 replies

Cooler Temp Thermoswitch.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Loyale 2.7 Turbo's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Yes, the Stock one comes with a Twin wires' pigtail connector... (my BumbleBeast came from California, USA) ...the replacement I Obtained at the Subaru Dealer (Long years ago), is identical to the Stock one, but has the Twin spades connector built in because it was for the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs; the only difference is the Connector itself, the temperatures are the same: Both Kicks on at 203º F and has the same thread & Size. Kind Regards.- 22 replies

Maybe I Can Refine my Question: is there any other (Subaru or non-Subaru) Thermoswitch that is designed to Kick on at lower temperatures than the Stock one, that Fits on my Subie? ... I Need the Year / Model \ Part Number.- 22 replies
