  1. OK, I will Wire my Twin fans setup with a Relay and use the original wiring to do the Switching job. Better safe than sorry! Now I Need to find the right twin fans setup. Tomorrow I'll travel to Comayagüela city to search for either: two Brand new Fans (and build a frame for them) or the Used Corolla (or similar) Twin fans setup. Wish me Luck!
  2. The Original electric fan on my subie is somehow "Tired" it works but is kinda Slow. Here you can see it, with the Fixed fan.
  3. That Screw is not supposed to be tightened like that. So you must unscrew it (almost all the way out) and then Start the engine. While the engine is Running you might adjust it to find the Right Idle speed... Should be ~ 800 RPM's. Kind Regards.
  4. Also, GD said that to Run a Manual Transmission for short time with some ATF fluid, could help to Clean its internals. Then you can Drain the Mixed stuff and pour Fresh new oil. I Believe that is a Great idea. Kind Regards.
  5. For me its hard to believe that the Transmission Oil has something to do with that problem, since you wrote that it doesn't show on first or third gear. This could be more a Second gear trouble, Specific to its Synchro or gear. But if you want to pour a Great oil in there, I Kindly suggest the Motul with Molybdene additive, that oil is Shiny Black and Really improves the internals Lubrication with that additive. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  6. Congratulations for your new Car! ... ... So you obtained that Legacy? if so, this thread should be on the "Newer gen of Subarus" Forums. More car details needed, but since you used the word: "Drumming" and you wrote that it was "Bassy Like" it could be done by Loose exhaust pipe / Cat. Kind Regards.
  7. Your Subaru "Ice Queen" Looks Wonderful! ... I Really Like it! I Kindly suggest you to upload some videos of it performing in the Snow. Kind Regards.
  8. The first thing I did when I finished to install the Lift kit, was to Take the BumbleBeast to a professional Tire Shop and let them adjust the Alignment, Then I Went to the "Agua Blanca" (white water) Mountain trial. My BumbleBeast Now Runs on 205/60 R 15" tires... (maybe I'll put Bigger tires soon) ... ... Do you want to know how the Overall vehicle's performance changed with those bigger Tires? My Little country, Honduras, has an extremely mountainous geography ... now I need to Shift down to Second gear on long uphills on-road, when in the past my subie did climb in third gear, But something interesting is that the second gear downshift on high RPM's driving with the Bigger tires, makes me feel my BumbleBeast even Faster than it was on the 13" wheels on same RPM's! However, the speedometer reads around 15% lower than the actual car's speed, the overall Vehicle handling stays the Same, even with the Lift kit. Kind Regards. ► Edited to update the Links.
  9. Thank you! I use Pinnacle Studio HD. also, I have another videos on my Youtube's Channel: ~► www.youtube.com/loyale27turbo But sadly, Youtube removed a couple of my videos, (because they had the music from "Iron Maiden" and "Within Temptation" -among others- in the Background), due something related to the copyrights... That makes me to be really "Creative" with the background music I use... Kind Regards.
  10. Snow could be a Problem, I've seen pics of engine bays completely Drown in Snow, during fast winter winds; then snow becomes solid as Rock... The small guard you saw, could be helpful to avoid small twigs and branches to reach the Belts. Thank you! ... I'm Glad that you like it!
  11. Yes, that is because the engine already ran and Stopped randomly the White Spot.
  12. I Went Wheelin' in my BumbleBeast and I Made a Short Video while Driving, but also it has many angles of the "Naked" Timing belts in Motion. Here you can see it: Please, Let me Know what do you Think about it. Kind Regards.
  13. Here you can see how the (dirty) engine Looks without the Covers on my BumbleBeast:
  14. If you don't wanna keep it, you can post it in the "Subaru Vehicles for Sale" Section and someone here could buy it. But your "Brat'nStein" sounds like a Nice project to start with... if the Overall body is in Good conditions. (unrusted or very little rust) Also if you sell it, you can buy a Simplier project like This: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/2717759960.html Seems like that XT basically only needs timing belts. Kind Regards.
  15. Reading about the Fuel pump issue makes me think that it might not be Receiving a Permanent 12V source and it might be stop running When the Power source Fails. Have you checked the Wiring / Relays?
  16. Welcome! Do you have photos of that Hacked Brat? ... sounds interesting. Also Photos could help to identify the Parts you might need and the donor car. Kind Regards.
  17. I Wonder if the Stock wiring could be enough to power this twin electric fans at the same time: or maybe a pair of these: or those will overload the wires?
  18. ...and you obtained your electric fan from? OK, so the original subaru wiring powers your Subie's electric fans. Both, isn't it?
  19. About That, My BumbleBeast is Similar to Ned (92_rugby_Subie's car) 1985 Wagon EA82 with Weber 32/36 and no timing belts covers. My BumbleBeast is Lifted (SJR 2") and runs on 25" (205/60 R 15") tires... (I'll put Bigger tires soon) ...now I need to Shift down to Second gear on long uphills on-road (my Little country, Honduras, has an extremely mountainous geography) when in the past my subie did it in third... but something interesting is that the second gear downshift and high RPM's makes me feel my BumbleBeast even Faster and Stronger than it was on the 13" wheels. However, the speedometer reads around 10% lower than the actual car's speed. Absolutely True!, I Hated all that "Spaghetti" vacuum hoses wrapping the engine, Lots of sensors, etc... I Really agree with that. While what others said about to find EJ stuff is easier and EA's becomes harder to get is true, the Looks and caracter of a well conserved and good lookin' old EA wagon (both EA81 and EA82 styles) is more "Special" somehow, maybe because those EA's came from the Era when Subaru was the Heavy-Metal kid, now recent models are more Pop-Star like... in my own humble opinion. Kind Regards.
  20. ...and that measurements are with 205/60 R15 Tires. The measurements should increase with taller tires.
  21. Nice Subie that is a Great Project, and nice website project! Kind Regards.
  22. I Measured the Vehicle's Tallness from a Flat Floor to the Fenders' top middle (The Wheel well's top) on the four corners, riding on 25" tires: - The Rear has 28 inches, Carrying some load, such as a Full sized spare tire, three tool boxes, a medium sized fire extinguisher, an amplified SubWoofer, etc... (due to my own suspension lift, Details, photos & Part numbers ~►Here.) - The Front has 27.5 inches. (With the 2" SJR Suspension Lift + Ford tempo Coil Springs, see the above link for details.)
