    Since the Subaru X100 was posted... I'll post another Old Subaru Prototype! Back in the 1980's Decade, Subaru had the AWD Performance, the Luxury Electronics (Electric Powered everything), even a Six Cylinder Boxer engine (the ER27), etc... but Not a Full Sedan Body to make a Luxury Grand Tourer... So the British Company named: International Automotive Design (IAD) ... (that Company also Worked with Subaru in the SRD Concept -Shown Below- I posted Lots of Pics & info of the SRD in Previous Posts of THIS Thread) ...Decided to Stretch a Subaru XT6 Body, to Make it a 4 Door Grand Tourer Sedan. They also added More (Yes... ... Even More!) Electronics; The Result was Named: Subaru Royale The Subaru Royale, an imposing Luxury Express (Grand Tourer) Sedan with Mature Lines. The interior was Perhaps its most Striking Feature, Decked out with leather and High-Tech Equipment, including one of the World's Most Sophisticated Hi-Fi Systems Ever Seen on a Car. Intended for Businessmen and Entrepreneurs, the Subaru Royale was a Study in Passenger Comfort and Space. The interior, developed Between IAD and Phillips, was Finished off in White Leather. Centrally-Mounted Information Centre and Navigational System with Revolving Rotary Key Pads, Replaced Conventional Controls for the in-car Entertainment System, Duplicated Front and Rear. Based on a Stretched Subaru XT6 Body, the Subaru Royale also incorporated an LED Screen Display, Integrated into the Tail Lights which Displayed Information About Road Safety... I Didn't Posted anythin' about the Subaru Royale Before, 'cos I Wasn't Sure it was Really a Subaru... I Only Had this Old Magazine Scan: and old Car Magazines only Refered it as the Royale. Could it's name be the Seed of the Subaru Idea to Rename its 1980's Luxury Sedan as "Loyale" ??? Kind Regards.

    Well, your subie doesn't has A/C but that electric fan belongs to the A/C system, isn't it? ... My BumbleBeast has it too. I really dislike A/C except during the Huge Rainstorms in my Country (around 60% of the Year) so, I Really NEED the A/C to keep the windshield glass clear, for safe driving. Kind Regards.

    Awesome! Now I Understand why you only has one electric fan, it seems to be Big and powerful enough to Cool the EA82. Do your EA82 have a Working A/C? If so, This Fan will come on with it too, not only with Temperature. Does it Manage well the A/C plus Engine Temps? I'm pretty sure it does well, but I'll Like to know your experience... Maybe I'll swap a Big electric fan just like yours, instead of Two electric ones. Which brand & size is it? Kind Regards.

    Your Subie's engine bay Looks pretty much like my BumbleBeast's one: EA82 with the 32/36 Weber carb and Coverless Timin' Belts.

    Stud bolts... yes, Thanks. I wanted to know if I can Substitute them for Screws. So, your EA82 subie only has one fan, an aftermarket electric fan and you just used the Stock wiring to power it. Sounds So Simple... I Like it! But in our Hot Caribbean climates, Maybe a Single fan would not be enough... Specially with our extremly mountainous Geography. Could I Ask if the aftermarket fan that you have, has More Speed / Moving air capability than the Stock one? I'll like to see Pictures... Kind Regards.

    Oh!... I Forgot but I Remember now: the four screws hold the pulley in its place on the Waterpump's shaft, isn't it? Has been Long time since I changed the Waterpump on my EA82... Couldn't I Screw them backwards? ... from the pulley to the Waterpump's terminal, So the screws will only show their head. Kind Regards.

    That means that the Stock A/C electric fan has a permanent Positive (+) and the Switching line is the Ground (-) isn't it? So I can run a Relay with direct positive and ground to the New fan, and obtain the Switching signal for the relay, from the Stock A/C Fan's Ground; isn't it? Could you post pictures of your Dual electric fan setup, please? Also, about this: I am a little bit confused... Why don't you leave the Waterpump's Pulley without screws? those won't be needed anymore without the Clutch fan. Kind Regards.

    Solved! ... Somehow... The Rattle Noise that I thought the Culprit was the A/C Compressor, it turned to be a Worn Fan Clutch on the pulley driven fan. Here is the Thread about that: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=127948 So seems like my A/C Compressor will stay there for a while... It keeps Working but is Hard to Turn and rob too much Hp from the EA82, so maybe I'll Rebuild it soon anyway. Kind Regards.

    I Agree with This: You Don't need to remove the Engine, but you must Rent Jack Stands for Safer working. Kind Regards.

    I guess I Can Remove Both and use a Big Single electric fan, Wired with the actual electric fan Wiring, then the electric one should turn on when: The A/C is activated. The Engine's Temperature reaches certain temperature. But my BumbleBeast starts the electric fan when Temp reaches Above the Middle mark, and I Don't Like That due to the Head Gaskets' issues on these engines; I'll Like to keep the engine Cooler, especially if I remove the mechanical fan. Now with the mechanical fan constantly spinning, it Usually Runs around 1/4 temp gauge; so if I get rid from it, I Must change the Thermo Switch in order to avoid overheatings... isn't it? Are those thermoswitches Standard? ... So I could find a Lower temp thermo Switch and swap the actual one. Please let me Know how you Wired your Electric fan. Pics will be Great. Kind Regards.

    Great!, Now I'm Sold with the idea to Remove the mechanical fan and install an electric fan there. Any Little gain in Hp, Throttle Response, or Torque in these EA82's, worth the effort. Sounds Great! ... Could you Share Photos of your Fan's setup, Please?

    Dual carb engines has different Heads on them, the Valves are located on the opposite side than the Single carb counterparts; if someone just Swapped the Dual Carb intake over a Single carb engine, it won't be any performance gain, just a Double carb tune up and Synchronization Headache. I Kindly Suggest you to post pictures of the engine and the whole car to help you identify it. Kind Regards.

    Welcome! Very Nice Subie, Have you Checked the Axles? ... I Really doubt that all of them could break at the same time but maybe they were in too bad conditions when the previous owner went Wheelin' off-road. Kind Regards.

    I've Never seen an Electric Courier Pick-up, just the Rotary engined, but all those Rotaries had been Swapped to in-Line 4 Cyl. Engines, due to two reasons: The Rotary felt gutless and the Lack of Spare engine parts & Lack of Knowledge about those Rotary engines. Kind Regards.

    Yes, we have them here in my Country and the Diesel overweighted the Front Suspension, so they had many suspension and Steer problems; just like the isuzu Mark I. That is the Reason why the Diesels from that era became impopular... but the Newer ones did Great. (Reinforced Suspension with the New Facelift model) Kind Regards.

    The Mirror is Brand New, isn't it? ... Looks Great! Sorry tom for Hijack the Thread, but: Mark: I Really Like how you Scrambled the SUBARU letters to form: SUPERU! I have Long time Searchin' to buy the SUBARU Letters (from a Forester) for my BumbleBeast and no one has them, nor the Subaru Dealer... My Subies has a Blank (Yellow) rump roast... Kind Regards.

    Beautiful Pick-up! ... Looks Like New! One of my Uncles had Two of Them, one was Brown and the other one was this exact green colour. But both were 2000 (2.0L) in-Line four Cyl engines with Carburetor. I Drove 'em many times, I Liked their Manual Transmission's Shifter, it has the Shortest Movement Shifter I've driven. Also their Stereo Cassette Players sounded Great. Those aren't Ford, those are made by Mazda; so they're Japanese fords! I Never heard about an engine option with Larger displacement than 2.0L for those cars, but maybe that limit was only for our Latin American market. Kind Regards.
