  1. Regarding the tail gate, I have never removed one, but I bet that the Plug you are searching for, is hiding underneath the Roof cover inside, you'll need to remove a little it, to reach the plug... but I'm not completely Sure about its location. There are some plastic tabs that holds the cover in its place, which shall be removed carefully, to avoid breaking them; otherwise the roof's inner cover will be hanging there... Kind Regards.
  2. It is not only the Colour, what makes my '85 GL a "BumbleBeast" And Subaru painted some wagons in Yellow from Factory, but with a white stripe on their sides... Here's more information: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/161388-bumblebeast-there-is-another/ Kind Regards.
  3. The original EA82 carburetor intake, has a built-in coolant passage to warm the Hitachi carburetor, which needs to be Blocked off during a Weber Swap, to prevent coolant from getting into the combustion chamber in a Leakage; but I don't know how is your custom intake's setup. But there is another thread which has posts regarding how to prevent the Weber carburetor from icying, and they came with the idea of retrofitting the original air filter Box, in order to re-attach the metallic hose that comes from the cover of the "Y" pipe's catalytic converter, with the idea of let it get warm air, as it was originally designed. Maybe this idea could help you, Kind Regards.
  4. You're welcome! I'm glad to know that you fixed it. Kind Regards.
  5. This thread continues Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/161519-the-interco-weber-build-is-here/
  6. Thank you for sharing your experience. A stuck / non-working-properly Secondary on a brand new Carburetor, is beyond Awful; a good thing is that you Returned that K 730 kit to the seller, I hope that they will refund your money. Besides that E.M.P.I. has good quality products, I prefer Honesty on the products I buy. That's the reason why I wrote this: ... and also ... I hope that the carburetor on the hands of 87subbomber came with a better quality, maybe from another manufacturer... Kind Regards.
  7. You're Lucky! ... especially because you had no health issues. My subie was in similar circumstances in december 11, 2003 ... I got neck whiplash, and had to repair the tail gate's lower part, the Bumper base and even the hiding compartment inside the trunk; the worse part was and continue being the Whiplash, which doesn't make me sleep confortably... The bumper needs to be Removed for a full inspection, and I agree with Bantum, that the metal innards might got bent; but everything looks repairable, maybe you don't need to buy another bumper at all. Kind Regards.
  8. This forum was Hacked long years ago, but this was not the issue this time. Yes, Exactly. The USMB website, was Down once again ... ... it is surviving on our Donations, only. I really wish I could help you guys; but I'm still jobless; however, I'm saving a little, each month, from the repair jobs I do; with the idea of sending a small collaboration to the USMB funds, next year. However, I kindly suggested to the Forum administrators, the idea of adding certain Advertisments from selected Sponsors. I am member in other cars' Forums, and they display a side bar on their screen's right side, with Advertising of automotive products; and thus means to ease the way to obtain funds for the Website; even it could self-sustain its maintenance costs; while the sponsors are strictly related to the Automotive world. That's only a humble suggestion. Kind Regards.
  9. Great, keep us Posted, don't forget to share some Photos with us. Kind Regards.
  10. You're Welcome! it is on the Writeup, whose link I shared above; however, let me Share it here: Kind Regards.
  11. I'm glad to read that you solved the Problem, thanks for letting us Know. Kind Regards.
  12. Well, I have not dealt with this situation, because I live in the warm Caribbean. To Modify the stock air filter Box to install it on a Weber is not too Complicated, But I don't believe that it could help a lot to avoid freezing on the Carburetor... Check the info on these web links Below: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/119865-weber-air-cleaner-alternative/?do=findComment&comment=1011110 ~► http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=259629 I hope you'll find useful information there. Kind Regards.
  13. Maybe you can Obtain that $ 700.ºº Legacy, fix the A/C and... Give it to your Wife, so both of you will be Happy! Kind Regards.
  14. Two month of dealing with such an issue, is a true Headache for sure. Fuel pressure seems to be pretty High. Does this car, have an Aftermarket fuel pump? So, you Swapped ECU's but, Did you Swapped the Wiring Harnesses also? Possibly, there could be a tiny difference between the Wiring of both cars, besides the Model Year; in example a California specs Vs. a 49 state Specs models. Have you checked the Health of the Fusible Links / Fuses? Good Luck, Kind Regards.
  15. Consider an STi Specs Engine: you might find a wrecked impreza STi in a Junk Yard, and obtain it cheap as donor car, then swap everything (Engine, Wire harness, ECU, etc...) from the STi to the Legacy. In another subject, the EJ22 engine isn't anemic at all; try our older generation of Subarus with the EA82 engines... Maybe your EJ22 only needs a proper tune up, better exhaust (I believe it could have clogged Catalytic converters and / or Muffler, etc...) and a sluggish automatic transmission could add to the Mix, to make you feel it Anemic. Kind Regards.
  16. Yes Sir, I'm Lawyer. In my own humble opinion, selling something without telling the Complete Truth, is a Lie. In example, a Hyundai Galloper is a Licenced version of the Mitsubish¡t Montero, built by Hyundai in Korea, I can Not sell a Galloper, saying that it is a Genuine Montero, despite that Hyundai has the Licence to build the Product. One thing is a Licenced Product (interco), and another thing is a True Original (Weber) Product; there's a lie within the False advertising. They should sell them as interco, not as Weber. Good idea, give us feedback regarding the Carburetor you'll receive. Kind Regards.
  17. Not exactly, this is the truth: Yes, Real Webers are either made in Italy or Spain. The question I have is: How did you found that the Carburetor you received, was a counterfeit copycat? Anyhow, if you purchased a brand new WEBER as they advertised, and you received a Counterfeit product, you should place a lawsuit against the Company, because they are selling Fake products advertising them as original ones; and that is very dishonest for any company; they better should advertise them as chinese licensed versions. It kinda remembers me the Samsung Galaxy cellphones that are being sold in our local market, there are chinese counterfeits being sold at half the price than the original Korean ones, even in the same stores; but the sellers says that those are "Chinese Versions" and their screen resolution is around the half; but they do not lie about their products. Kind Regards.
  18. What I meant to say, is: What makes a GL Wagon, a "BumbleBeast" is much more than a colour. Thank you for sharing the Photo, Kind Regards.
  19. I Kindly suggest you to verify the health of every and each Pin on both connector's sides: at the wiring Plugs and instrument Cluster, because one or more might be bent. Kind Regards.
  20. Could you Please, share Photos of those DOJ cups with 32 Splines? So we could better figure out what's going on in your Subie. Kind Regards.
  21. By the way, the Yellow with white stripes Wagons that came like that from Factory, came not as Subaru, but as Isuzu Geminett II, see: Edit: This photo is from Japan; Kind Regards.
  22. They Painted few Yellow Wagons with White lateral stripes... ...on the ones that were Built to be Used for service companies in certain Markets. I've seen them in mainly in Japan, but the Photo above was taken in Russia. Kind Regards.
  23. That's nothing New... But keep in mind that, Despite that there are many Yellow Subies, similar to mine... Even Legacies There is only one Real "BumbleBeast" the only one who has served many Subaru owners to Upgrade theirs, With all the Experimentations done to it = Many Writeups and Photos to guide them. Kind Regards.
  24. Nope, but I really wish I could go visit my Washingtonian friends someday...
  25. Also, I kindly suggest you to verify the Fitting of the LED on the Socket, as these things might being happening: One is the fact that some leds have their contacts as mini metallic rods that are simply lying over the Plastic base, and those contacts might be moved during the LED placement on the Socket, and not doing proper contact with the Base. Other thing is that the mere Socket could be Rusty and not transferring the electricity as they should, from the instrument cluster, to the LED contacts. Third thing is that the LED's might be Bad from factory. So, you should verify if the LED do Lit OUTSIDE the instrument cluster, by giving Power directly to each Socket with LED. Kind Regards..
