  1. The Shifter Links has some Bushings that Trend to Wear with Use... Just Replace 'em and it will be Tight Again. Kind Regards.
  2. I Remember that Summer of 1985... My Dad took us to the First Trip in our Freshly New '85 Subaru GL Wagon... the One that today Became my Everyday Warrior, The Weberized EA82. That time, when we First Saw the "Shift Up" Light came On, we Didn't Knew anything about That and my Dad even Pulled out from the Road once to Check the Engine... Now, after 280,000 Miles of Non Stop Use, the Shift Up Light Start to Show up at Lower RPM's than ever... I Remember it Only came On at over 4,000 RPM's but Now it Does Come On at 2,500 RPM's Same Behaviour but Lower RPM's ... Why? ... is this a Warning of Somethin' Going Wrong with the ECU? Any Advice will be Very Welcome! Kind Regards.
  3. Thank you for your Kind Reply, I'll Check for the Stereo's Details as Soon as I Finish First with the Mechanical Repairs. Seems like the Guy / Girl who was the Previous Owner, NEVER Changed the Brake Pads and the Automatic Transmission Fluid! ... ... I Removed out the Rear Drums and the Front Discs and Sent 'em to the Mechanic Shop to Polish... they had Scratches but not too Deep. The ATF Fluid came as Dark as Muddy Water and as Liquid as Water... Just like Dirty Water... I Just Poured New & Fresh Chevron Red ATF Fluid. Excuse my ignorance but I'm New to Automatics... Does the Differential has its Own Oil or it Shares the ATF with the Auto Gearbox? Any Advice will be Very Welcome! Kind Regards.
  4. ...or Just Bypassed. I Kindly Suggest you to Take your Time to Deal with Electrical issues, they could be Dangerous like a Time Bomb if has Improper Wiring and the Damage could take effect with Time (in Example with the Heat of Use) So, I Kindly Suggest you to Take Out the Whole Dash and Follow all the Lines Completely, so you can Freely See where they Comes and Go, Maybe the Main Dashboard's Voltage imput was Cut and you're now Playin' with the Part that comes Before the Dimmer Adjust Switch... Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  5. Back to Basics! ... Well I Was about to Suggest That, 'cos I had that "Flickering" Dash Lights issue when attempting to Run electrical Draining Accesories like A/C or Power Windows on a Car that has a Weak Battery... I am Glad to Know that you Already Fixed it Up! ... ... Congratulations! Pics of the SVX Please! Kind Regards.
  6. Mitsubishi! Yes, Those ignition Parts are Made by Mitsubish¡t Just Look Closer and You'll be Able to see the Three Diamonds Logo. So I Guess that is the Reason why They're So Scarse... Kind Regards.
  7. This is a Picture of the brand New EJ Engine Distribuitor's Cap and Head Rotor, Placed over my Yellow Wagon; a Photocopy of the Dealer's EJ Engine Manual is under them... So I Noticed Something "Different" in a Subaru ignition Part, Because I have Seen "Nippon Denso" (ND) and "Hitachi" Parts in Subarus, but I've Never Seen in a Subaru, parts made by...
  8. Seems like I've Just Solved the Mistery about Why is so Scarse and Hard to find those ignition Parts for the Carbed EJ Engines... (I Know that those Carbed + Disty EJ Engines weren't available in the USA ... but they Came to Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and some Countries of Asia; but even if there are Lots of those Carbed EJ Subarus Running great Here and they came Thru the Dealer; their ignition Parts seems to be Hard to Find... Way harder than EA ignition parts. A Great USMB Friend asked me to obtain those parts for him and after several talks with the dealer's salesmen and CEO; I Already obtained the parts for him, and I Hope I can send them to USA within the Next Week.) ...Let me Upload the Pics, They are Self Explain, so you'll understand Why those are so Scarse...
  9. Well... I insist on Vacuum Lines but it also could be something unbalanced like the Pulley already said, so if you are Sure about the external Pulleys... Could it be a Timin' Pulley?
  10. it is important to Know if the Engine Visibly Shakes at the Same time you feel the Vibration, if So, I Believe there's Something wrong with the Engine and it Could be one of this Posibilities: Vacuum Leak: Check for Worn, Cracked, Broken or Hard Hoses, Replace if Nesesary. Broken Spark Plug's Wire... Try with Other Wires Known good. Dirty Fuel injectors? ... Try with Concentrated Cleaner in 1/2 Tank of Fuel I Hope this Ideas can Help. Kind Regards.
  11. Thank you for your Nice Comments! That is Exactly what I am Planning to Do The First Sephias were Based on Those Scorts / Mazda 323 Work Progress So Far: Yes the Radiator was Cracked (It is Made of Plastic), So I'm Searchin' for another one in good Shape; also the Air Conditioner's Condenser was Bent and had a Minor tear, so I Took it to the A/C Shop to get Welded. Both Headlamps are Plastic, they Survived but the're not as Transparent as they must be; so I Will Try to Polish them after I Finish the Main Repairs and the Paint Job. I Guess that the Car was Runnin' at Normal Operating Temps when was Hit and the Radiator Break must decompressed the Engine... So Tomorrow I Plan to Take out the Engine's Head to Check engine internals... I Guess this car was Parked under Open Sky for More than a Year since the Hit Day untill they Sold it, 'cos the Paint is Faded and the Dashboard is Curved a Little bit in front of Driver's Side and Passenger's Side, but not the Middle; so it has a Curvy "M" Shape... Does Anybody Know Where I Could Obtain a New Faceplate for the Stereo? ... The Original one is Missing... but I have not Taked out the Stereo Yet, so I need to Know the Make / Model Before... it is a Non-Stock with CD Player. Kind Regards.
  12. I Agree with GD About This: Because that was Exactly what I Thought when I Saw First This Subie: Yes, I Know that it Look Amazing, but Seeing that it only has the Body from a Subaru and the Rest is an Entire Different Vehicle... Well... ...I was So disappointed. I Really Respect Very Much Everyone's Ideas, but I Think that Using Other Vehicle's Engine, Drivetrain, Gearbox, Transfer Case and Suspension; makes the Subie to be Just the Other Vehicle Dressed like Subaru... it Gives the Feeling of a "Death Subaru Body Over Other Car's Soul" Kind Regards.
  13. I Can not give you the Answer to that, but I Might be Able to Help you to Fix the Relay Problems, if you want to Swap there "Standard" Bosch Relays, which are more Capable and easier to Find & Replace. if So, I Suggest to Follow This Link: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=90403 Kind Regards.
  14. Could I Ask if you Tried First to Fill Up the Gasket Areas with Clear or Black Silicone? ... Those Named "Windshield Sealant" Kind Regards.
  15. The 100,000 mile Warrany? ... ... Well, it Came with 111,000! I Already Know those cars are cheap and they are Build with thin Metal Sheet on their Panels, etc... but we obtained it Very Very Cheap, even including the Maritime Shipping Costs from South Georgia (USA) to Port Cortes (Honduras) That Car was Assembled there, in Georgia, isn't it? ... I'm Not Sure. Yes, but That applies only in USA ... Here is Another Story, Used cars are Expensive here. The Local used Car's Price depends on the Mechanical Conditions and Looks of the Vehicle, also if the Car had an Engine Swap or upgrades such like New Stereo / Rims \ Paint, etc; its cost will Raise Up a Lot. Right Now the Car is under the Custom's Clearance documentation Process... I'll go to pick it up at Port Cortes ASAP. Kind Regards.
  16. Holy Cow! Well... The Car Just Came, it is on Customs Clearance. I Will Check it Very Carefully and I Hope to Make it Run Safely, for my Wife. The only Nice Thing is that There are Lots of those Kias Here and their Parts are Very Very Cheap and Easy to Find. I will Post here any Update as I Receive & Check the Car. Kind Regards.
  17. Just for info, Let me Tell you that ... ... Peugeot is the Only "Other Brand" Available in the USA that has the Same Vintage Subaru Lug Patter; but Here there are Available some Citröen Cars who has Rims with Same Lug Pattern Too. Kind Regards.
  18. He is Right! I Believe that Those Subies are Very Good & Fun Lifted & Off Road...
  19. Nice Subie! ... I Like it. It is Known as the "Leone" (2nd Gen) or just as the "GL" ... others refer to its Engine, the "EA81" (but it could came with other engines too, such like the EA71) here is called the EA81 Wagon very often. Don't you Know the Reason Why it Sat all that Long Time? ... Kind Regards.
  20. You are Welcome! Could you Post Pictures of your Subie? ... is Easy if you Upload them to a Pictures Hosting Website, such like "Photobucket" and then Paste them Here. Kind Regards.
  21. Hi and Welcome to the Board! By the info Given, I am Almost Sure that you have a Leone Wagon with the EA81 Engine, it is a Great Car for Sure! Why the Car Sat since 1992? ... Seventeen Years is Lot of Time, so it might Have Rust on Hidden Spots, including Brakes! So I Kindly Suggest to be Careful while Drive it. If you Already fixed its Problem, I Suggest you to Check the Brakes and Drain the Old Fluid out of the Whole System, the Same applies for Gearbox Oil, Diff Oil (Rear) and Engine Oil for Sure; and so on with ALL Fluids on the Car... Regrease the Wheels' Ball Bearings and the CV Joints Bearings to avoid Failures and future Problems and is Good Idea if you can Take Out and Wash Clean the Gas Tank and Change the Fuel Filters and ALL the Rubber Hoses, not Only the Radiator -main- ones but the Tiny ones Too. And at Least: Sparkplugs (NGK BPR6EY-11 are the Best on Subaru EA Engines and they're are Cheap) and Clean the Carb, change its Air Filter Element. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  22. Usually those Radiators get Clogged when the Car is Parked for Long Time without Starting, the Coolant makes some Kind of Crystals... I Kindly Suggest you to Change the Radiator as Soon as you Can, because the EA82 Engine is very Sensitive to Overheating Temps and trend to Burn the Head Gaskets Very Easy... and that is a Headache too... Finally, those EA82 came with two Different Rads: Single Row and Double Row; so if you can Choose I Suggest the Double Row one. Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  23. if Someone want to Help me with the Non-Subie car that my Wife Obtained... see this Thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=105337 Kind Regards.
  24. Well... We have those VW Models here too, but they came here "Made in Brazil" and the Newer Squared Model I Believe that was "Made in Mexico" but I'm Not Sure... Kind Regards.
