where I came from
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to kamnk's topic in Meet n' Greet. Your USMB Welcome Center
Very Nice Landscapes... I Believe that -almost- Every Place on Earth has Beautiful Scenery to Offer. My Li`l Country, Honduras is Located Between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, No Snow Nor Salty Roads and Plenty of Beaches, High Mountains and... Crazy People! Besides Beautiful Landscapes and OffRoading Places. Some of you Have already seen my Online Videos, but Here a Couple of Pics of my Country: Roatán, my Home Place... by Day: Or By Night: in my Country, There are Lots of Crazy Roads, Like These: ...and Nice Mountains: ...etc... Lots of More Pics & info here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=90606 Kind Regards. -
Thank you for your Kind Words! Yes, I have Rebuilt Those Front Calipers, several Times Since years Ago, but the Problem is the excesive Wear in the e-Brake System mechanism, Just Behind the Caliper's piston chambers, where the Special Screw Goes, the metal tunnel is now Oval, not round anymore. I bet that being driving in Honduras, requires a Lot more brakings than Driving in the USA. I Changed Pistons and their Seals, but the Problem is that when I Pull the e-Brake Handle: The Small O-Ring gets Moved from where it should be, and sometimes even it gets cut, developing Dangerous Brake Fluid Leaks from Behind the Calipers, leading to Loose Pressure in the Whole System... you understand. I Just Got Tired from that Weak problematic Front e-Brake System, so I really Want to get Rid of it forever. Otherwise it will keep causing problems and will never be as strong as the average car's parking brake. Kind Regards.

Today, Something Weird Happened to Me: I Was Driving my Subie in a Highway at average Speeds While Slow Rain was Falling... After some miles of Cruisin' back to my Home, Something made the Driver in the Car that was in Front of mine, to Stop Abruptly... I Did Stoped the Subie at around ten inches of the Car that was in Front of Mine... The Weird Thing was Not the Weak Brakes... The Weird Thing is That I Didn't Noticed that the Big Car that was Running in Front of Mine Was a Subaru ... ... Untill I Saw the Pleiades' Stars Logo! It Was a Beautiful Subaru Tribeca in Champagne Colour... Nice but it Looked very Unsubaru for my Subaru Instincts. I'm still searchin' for a Solution for my Subie's Front Calipers. Kind Regards.

As I Explained before, My Parents & Familiy are still there, and That's my Hometown; but due to my Job I Have to Move all Across Honduras from coast to coast and I Don't have a Permanent City to Stay... So I List my Hometown for Easy Reference. I'll Check my PM inbox Right Now... Kind Regards.

Swap EA22 for EJ18?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Duraznov's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
¡Bienvenido! (Welcome!) Nice Touring Wagon, I Like the Atacama Desert Landscapes, I Have been there Very Long Long Time Ago... Could I Ask you if you Plan to Use a Carb + Disty Version of the EJ18 Engine, or the efi? Our Latin American Specs for Subarus include some EJ Engined Subies with Stock Carb + Disty (I Have Lots of Pics + Video of one Runnin` Here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=101887&page=2 ) Because the Carb + Disty Setup will make your Swap Job a Lot Easier... Kind Regards. -
Oh, Thank You! ... You`re So Kind! The Problem is that my Wife Didn`t Like that Wagon, Specially for the Price and the Small Problems it Have; also I Mistakenly Wrote "Power Mirrors' Switches" when the damaged ones are the Power Windows' Switches... But I Really Appreciate your Kind Offer. Kind Regards.

The EJ16 Engine was not an Option Available at the USA, but here in Honduras there are Many of Them. The Manual 1.6L is a Very economic Car to Drive, also the Manual Trans Gains more Control... it Depends also on each one`s Preferences. How is the Rest of the Car? ... Maybe Posting Pictures of it here could Help to Obtain more Opinions. Kind Regards.

The Engine Runs like a Champ! ... ... very Smooth & Quiet, without any oil Leaks. You can see a Video of it Running, here:

Seems like the Rustier Part was the Brake Booster! The only Problem with that Subie was its Price... here in Honduras, used cars are expensive... this Lego is for Sale at around $ 2,500.ºº (Lps. 50,000.ºº "Lempiras" ... Our Currency) and it have some Small Hits... but the Worst part is the Power Mirrors' Switches: They're completely Broken, at the point that the Actual Owner did Screwed directly to the Plastic buttons, some Screws for Wood ... ... to have the Option to "Hold" the Control and Make 'em Work! So, my Wife didn't Like it, only me ... ...

Yes, Those are Exactly the ones on my Subies, but they weren`t an Option exactly... Well... The model known as "Loyale" was produced since 1981 in Japan, as can be seen in the Subaru of Japan Website History line, Sold as the Third Gen of the "Subaru Leone" but also available Named as the "Isuzu Gemminnett II": Exported to the Rest of the World in 1985, (also with 1.3 and 1.6 engines plus other Options) Those Mirrors were the first Design for the "Rest of the World Style" mirrors. Let me Explain: in Japan, the Mirrors are Not Placed at the Doors but at the Front Fenders, as you can see in this Pictures: For More Historic info, see this thread: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53434&page=8 Kind Regards.

93 loyale oil pan plug stuck.
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Rust's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Some Amount of Penetratin` Oil like PB Blaster + some Hits to the Plug can loosen it and Help to Remove it out. My EA82 Warrior had similar Problems with the Drain Plug at the Oil Pan, but then the fault was a Weared Plug, it had Round Corners and the tool Failed to Grip... So I Removed Both Battery Cables and Welded Right to the Plug, a Huge Nut from a Truck`s Bolt; then was Easy to Hold the Plug with a Bigger Tool. Maybe Both Ideas can Help you... Good Luck! Kind Regards.
