  1. So, you Wrote that the Subie you Found, has Decals that Says... ... "Starfire" ... Not Only Star Edition, so that subie Could be Different... Could you Post Pics of That Subie & its Decals here Please? Thank you! ... Kind Regards.
  2. After continuing this conversation on Private Messages, Now I understand that is Not easy to match a Set of EJ Calipers to EA brackets...
  3. Thank you, You are Soo Kind!!! ... I Really Appreciate your Words. Yes... Pretty Scary, Isn`t it? I am Still Drivin` my Subie with Brake Problems... the "Sponge" Feelin` Still remain on the Pedal and e-brake Wires are Unhooked; so it is Time to Relive the Thread about to obtain new Brakes for my Subie... I am Waitin` for my Wife`s Car in order to Stop my "Everyday Warrior" Subie while I can Fix it, So I will Stop it just for the Needed Time, I Hope. Kind Regards & Blessings. JesZeK
  4. ...or Obtain a Latin American / Asia \ Aussie Specs Subaru EJ Engine, which Stock comes with Carb & Disty: Kind Regards.
  5. Thank you, You are Soo Kind! My Wife is Seekin` to buy a Newer Car (year 2001+) Very Cheap; How you could do That? well: Buying a Car that was involved in a Minor Crash in USA (Fully Repairable) Thru the Certified USA insurance Companies Websites. in example, see: http://www.copart.com/c2/home.html That is the Only Way to Obtain a Cheap Car here, Otherwise our Local Market Prices are very Expensive. The Problem is not to Bring the Car Here... we are Somehow very Near to the USA and those cars comes inside Containers on Cargo Vessels. The Problem is not the Crash, `cos here is Cheap to Repair Cars and there are Parts Available. The Only Problem is that my Wife is Lookin` for a Cheaper Newer Car and Subarus are Not Listed for Cheap ... ... But Whatever she will Drive, I`ll Continue Drivin` my Subies for Sure!
  6. Well... I Have been Offline for a While, (I Explained the Reasons ~► here) please excuse me for not Uploadin' the Pics Before, I Have not done that yet but I Will Upload Pics of that Subaru Soon. While I could do the upload, let me Post a Pic of a Similar Legacy with LADM Specs (EJ Engine with factory Disty + Carb) Which I serviced some time ago, it is pretty similar to the One that was Offered to me :
  7. Hi Dear Friends!!! Thank you Soo Much for Thinkin' about Me! I Have been away Offline for more than a Month... Reasons: Yes the Computer thing is one, maybe the First one, Since mine Crashed (as I Explained Here) I Borrowed my Neighbours' one, untill it got infected by a Virus named something like "W32.SillyFDC" he believed it was my Fault... so I Fixed it and gave back it to him again... ...and No Computer untill Today: I made one Computer to Work from various Old PC Parts, it is an Obsolete AMD Semptron 2800+ @ 1.6 Ghz with 512 Mb Ram based System, but enought to gain internet access again for a While... I Hope I will Made a Newer PC soon. Another Reason is the Huge Political Crisis we are Facing now in my Li'l Country (as I Briefly related Here) there have been Hard Times here since then for everyone... even if I am an absolutely Non-Political Person... My Cellphone has great internet access, but I Don't know the reason why I couldn't reach to this Awesome Site with it... something related to the Flash Plug in... but it let me reach to my "My Brute" Free Online game Website ( http://loyale-2.7-turbo.mybrute.com ), which is Flash Based... mine is a very Weird Cellphone (No Brand, Chinese "Do it All" that can be seen Here) There are some other minor Things but I am Glad to be Here Back again Due to that Brake Problems and the other problems that my "BumbleBeast" gave me some months ago, (which I Explained Here) my Wife is Seekin' to obtain another Car to have a Spare in case my Subie Fails... 'cos now we have a Baby Child, plus other Reasons... I was Searchin' for another Subie and Found a Great Dual Range 4WD Legacy with factory Carb & Disty (LADM Specs, which can be seen here) but it was too Expensive for that Year Model, also it had several minor Hits, power windows problems, etc... Well... Thank you for Thinkin' about me, I Really Appreciate your Kind Words. Kind Regards & Blessings.
  8. However, despite that the 162 main fuel Jet on High (Secondary) stage seems to be working good, sometimes I feel like the engine really doesn't need that much, not even under hard acceleration; so I might go back to the 140 on High (Secondary) Jet, soon... Kind Regards.
  9. Yes, we have Different Specs in Subarus for Latin America; the LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs are different than USDM; mainly because the local Subaru Dealers depends directly on Fuji Heavy industries (FHi) Japan, they has no relation with Subaru of America (SOA) USA, but also the LADM Specs are Different due to much simplier Taxations and Local Regulations for Cars. Very Basic talking, these are some of the Differences you can notice on the LADM specs Subarus: Beside Carburator & Distribuitor on early EJ Engines, We still have Dual Range Transmissions available as "Optional" in Newer Subies, All Models could be ordered with the Dual Range transmission; EXCEPT the Automatics, the ones featuring Turbo, and the Smaller cars, I've seen Imprezas, Legacies, Outbacks, and Foresters with Dual Range 5MT. The average LADM Consumer tends to preffer smaller displacement engines, So Subaru offered Standard models like the 1.5L impreza, 1.6L Legacy (EJ15 and EJ16) ... ...the 1.0L Justy, the 1.3L (EA65) and 1.6L (EA71) Loyales... Also The Subaru Brat was still available new here up to 1994, and in the Very Last Year of Sales, certain Subaru Dealers had it with the "Optional" EA82 Engine from Factory... Since This information is very interesting for my Friends in USA, I'll use this thread to Share the Photos & info I have from LADM Subarus, I'll upload more soon ... ... Kind Regards.
  10. Well... My Wife and I went to see that Legacy... it was Very Different than they Said: it was a 1990 Model, not 1994 ( ) I'll write the New Info in my Usual Blue Text, next to yours: I Took some Pictures of it, but since I am Borrowing a Friend-Neighbour Computer to Post here, I Will Post 'em as Soon as I Can. Please Let me Know what do you Think About. Kind Regards.
  11. Thank you So Much for that Great Advice! I Believe that it is a very Good Idea, maybe one of them can Build an "Ready to Fit" set of newer Subie Calipers on the EA82 Bracklets and sell those to me. I Will send the Cost for those parts, plus the shipping and handling costs. I Believe that by Loosing the Front e-Brake system, my Subie will be Safer and will have less Parts that can Fail, Because the Front e-brakes are Not a Good Idea in the Real World after some years of use, because they worns faster their mechanisms and then they doesn't help too much to hold the subie in place, Specially in my extremely Mountainous & Crazy Country. That's why I Always Park my Subie with the Tires Facing the Sidewalk, and I always carry in the car, a triangular solid stone for those places where there is No sidewalk available. Also I Believe that there should not be too much Difference Between the Diameter size of the EA82 Rotors to the early impreza or Legacy ones ... I am not Sure ... I hope that my Subie can Handle the Difference. Kind Regards.
  12. Well... it Sounds to me Like Something Related to Exhaust Pipes... but also that Pipes might be Hittin` Somewhere underbody due to Excess Shakin` from Worn Engine Supports as I Said... So I Kindly Suggest you to Check those Carefully, and the Pipes for Body Hittin` Marks. Kind Regards & Good Luck.
  13. When I Read This: I Imagine that it Could be Something Related to the Exhaust Pipe Hitting the Underbody, or a Failing Gearbox -or Engine- Support. I Suggest you to Check around those Posibilities First, but it also Might be due to a Bad Strut when the Whole Car Moves... so I Kindly Suggest you to Shake your Subie While Parked and Try to Find the Noise`s Source then... Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  14. Thanx for your Kind Answer! That Sounds Great but How Could I Swap Calipers from EJ Series using the EA Series Bracklet? Does Anybody have Experience in Such Situation? Pictures of That will be Great! Kind Regards.
  15. Right now I'm gathering all the Needed parts for a Rear e-Brake Setup. ► EDIT: I finished that project, Successfully and is Working Flawlessly Follow this Link for complete information: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/129779-the-definitive-rear-e-brake-retrofit-solution/ Kind Regards.
  16. This Weber carburetor, came from Redline-Weber, jetted for the EA82 as Follows: 140 in Low (Primary) Stage, and 140 in High (Secondary) Stage; the grand total is 280. That's pretty close to the 276 grand total, which came on the factory setup found on the Hitachi carburetor, as it came with 116 in Low (Primary) stage, and 160 in High (Secondary) Stage. What I did with this Weber, was to leave the Low (Primary) Stage main fuel jet in 140 as it came, but I increased the size from the High (Secondary) Stage Jet, to 162, that was the closer to 160 Jet I found, locally. So now, my Weber has a grand total of 302, not so far from the Factory 276 found the Hitachi carburetor. Kind Regards.
  17. Thank you for your Kind Reply! Seems like the Subie is an EJ20 Wagon from 1994, so Pre '97 like you Said... Could I Ask you Why it is Known as "The Better Subaru Engine"? The only other info I Have is That is an 4WD (maybe AWD) I will Post More info here as Soon as I can. Kind Regards.
  18. My Wife wanted another car to keep as Backup, since the Series of Unfortunate Events that we faced with our Beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" after the 7.3 degree Earthquake. I have another car, but my '69 coupé is at my parents' home, far away... I believe is a Good Idea to have a Backup Car, so if I need to Fix something on my "BumbleBeast" Subaru, there will be another car available to use, also She want to drive her own car sometimes ... ... So, we Found a LADM (Latin American Domestic Market) Specs Subaru Legacy Wagon... (1990) ...we have not seeing it yet, but by Phone we talked to the owner and he said it was owned by the Local Subaru Dealer's CEO, it is a Sporty Wagon in Dark Golden Champagne Colour with Luxury Rims, also they said that it was a Special Request for the Dealer's CEO to be "Sporty" and has some Upgrades, which they didn't explain Yet ... ... Little is Known about that Subie so Far, and we Expect to Meet the Sellers by the next Saturday, I Will Take Photos of that Subie (if they Allow me to do So) and I'll Post 'em Here. But while we meet, I Kindly Ask you for any Advice about that Model, any Idea, anything that might be a Must Check... any advice is Very Welcome! Kind Regards.
  19. Hi Everybody! As I Already Told in This Thread: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/96565-weber-brakes-problems-eathquake-damage/ I am Having front Brake Problems with my beloved Subaru "BumbleBeast" Wagon, the rear brakes are alright. I Really Need to Change the Whole Front Calipers; the Problem is that the Calipers has worn out the e-Brake (Parking Brake) System's mechanism and the guides on the Caliper's metallic structure, beyond any repair or kit could fix in a Safe way. The e-Brake is no longer Working anymore, I disconnected both Cables because somehow I had a hit in the inner side of the front driver's wheel while cruising a Pond, and the Driver's side Caliper got bent the small Arm that activates the Piston, for the e-Brake, plus it also bent the pin; so everytime I pulled the e-Brake handle lever, the Calipers leaks brake fuid from Behind, on the e-Brake mechanism area. More information about that hit during a Pond Cruising, on the web link Above. So I Want to Obtain some Front Calipers from a Newer Subie model, that (if Possible) might be a Direct Fit to my Subie's Knucles ... you know: Without Transforming Parts, Just Swap Because I Can not Stop my Subie for more time than a Weekend, it is my daily driver. What I really want is to get Rid permanently from this lousy e-Brake setup, because soon I'll do my own Rear e-Brake retrofitting instead. I am Really seeking to have the Safest Braking: Now I Transport my Baby Daughter & my Wife everyday. So, do you know if there is a Newer Subie Model's Calipers that can Fit the knuckles / rotors on my EA82 Wagon? Any imput will be really appreciated. Kind Regards.
  20. Oh Jerry!, I am Glad to Know that you Obtained that Disty... ...and Your Subie is Absolutely Awesome! Could I Ask about how Much Power (Torque / Hp) are Doing that EJ Engine with that Setup? ... Any Calculations? Kind Regards. JesZeK
  21. Could you give a Li`l bit More information about that Fail-rrari, Please? Kind Regards.
  22. Holy Cow! I Couldn`t imagine what Kind of Problems could bring that Broken Part if it Breaks while Drivin` in the Middle of Nowhere... Ha, Ha! ... So Funny!
  23. So Sad Accident, but I am Glad to Read that you`re OK! Also, I Agree with This: I have Seen Worse Damaged Cars Being Nice Repaired or Transformed as Suggested. Kind Regards.
  24. Welcome! I Found some On-line Manuals at This Site: http://www.ultraligero.net/Descargas/Manuales/Subaru/subaru.htm Could you Post Pics of your Ultra Light AirCraft? Good Luck! Kind Regards.
  25. Well... I Had that Problem Long time Ago... Found Restrictive Flow in the "Y" the Cat and Also inside the Muffler... So I Changed the Whole Exhaust Pipes with 2" and Removed the Three Filters (the Cat, the "Y" and the Muffler) instead of Muffler my Subies got an Empty Can, but Filled with Fiberglass Noise & Heat isolating (industrial Grade) Compound, so it Won`t be a Fartcan...
