  1. I Suggest to Check Carefully if the Dashboard Lights Went Dim too... in That case, it could be a Bad Relay.
  2. it is Hard to Believe that a Piece of Metal like That could find its Way Down a Carb`s Throat, Thru the intake to fall across one Valve`s Way to the Cylinder... But it is Strange World after All... The Cause Could be a Broken Valve, but if that Part Doesn`t Belong to the Engine, I believe that could be part of some tool Left -dropped- inside the intake Manyfold when someone took the Carb appart, maybe for service, before you obtained that Engine. Back in 1986, one Uncle had a VW Mini Bus with a Nice Smooth Workin` Boxer engine, untill his Mechanic Dropped the Unscrewed Top of a Spark Plug, inside the Cyl Thru the Spark plug`s Hole on the Head... Same Disaster like your Subie`s engine! ... :-\ ... it is So Sad, but I Believe that Now you can Think on Swappin` an Upgraded -Bigger- Engine there, like an EA81... Good Luck!
  3. Maybe it just have Clogged Hoses and / or PCV Valve ... I Suggest you to Take All that Stuff Out (Hoses, PCV...), Check `em and Change `em if Needed, also the PCV Valve could be Cleaned, but if you can Change it, use a Subaru Original one. Good Luck!
  4. Well... it Looks in Nice Condition, Just like the Subaguru`s Red one... Maybe you can Obtain more info about it, like Engine`s Mileage, if its 2WD or 4WD and which Engine it Have. You want to Buy it, isn`t it? ... I Guess... Kind Regards.
  5. Yes, it`s Worth Saving it! Could you Post Pics of it if you Save it?
  6. I Believe it is the 38/38 DGAS Weber Carb... Look at the Primary / Secondary Actuator Mechanism, if Both Opens at the Same Time every Time the Accelerator Cable pulls, So it is a Racing Carb that Must be More "Gasoline Eater" than the Regular Weber Carb... but can Deliver a More Powerful Sensation too! The Regular Weber Carb, which is the 32/36 has the Secondary to Open when the Primary Already Reached Around the Half Opening, Look at their Linkage. Both can Work on Subies, but the 38/38 will Suck more Gas... I Hope this can Help you. Good Luck!
  7. Holy Cow! ... ... That`s So Scary! I Thought those Crazy Drivers was only here, at Latin America ... :-\ ... Thank you for Posting Photos of your Progress with the Swap!
  8. ...or Maybe a Vacuum Leak! I Fixed a similar Problem on an Ford`s EFi Engine, it was an Unplugged Vacuum Line.
  9. I Wish you Good Luck! ... Here, people who Owns those Nice Hatchbacks, refuses to Sell them at Any Price, the same goes for Brat Owners... They`re Expensive here if you Find one for Sale.
  10. Well... I Suggest you to use Fine Sandpaper all over it, before give it the new Paint Coats, it will improve the Looks and will make the Paint to Hold on better.
  11. I Really Like your nice Brat! ... ... Thank you for Sharing your Pictures, Also their Background scenery is nice Too!
  12. This is the New Lineup, with Windows' Frames and Diesel Engines ( Diesel is available in Europe, Asia and Latin America! ) There are some People who Already converted their Subies to Electric Power. Maybe also I could do it in the Future if it Becomes Po$ible, you Know... See this Electric Impreza Racing: http://www.proev.com/ Also, The Electric Forester, See: http://www.ecoautoinc.com/
  13. I Believe that if it has Electric Fuel Pump, almost Any Aftermarket one for Carb Engines will perform good, also you can find Another fuel pump at a Junk Yard, but be sure it is for Carb Cars (Pumps for Fi ones delivers more Pressure) Good Luck!
  14. First was the Second Gen Subaru Rex, then the Subaru Justy, then the SVX ... Now the Tribeca ... after that, the New Impreza ... and Now the New Legacy and Forester also have Windows' Frames ... That is very Unsubaru.
  15. Let me Tell you that I Believe the Antenna Plug is some Sort of Worldwide Standard... I`ve Never seen Anything Different at all in Many Cars I`ve Repaired or Swaped Stereos (I did it a Lot with Friends Cars) Maybe you didn`t Find the Antenna Connector`s Plug, but something Different...
  16. Something Related: Gearboxes` Drain Screws have a Magnetic Top, so they Grab all the Metal that comes from the Gears when they Wear... So in a Gearbox is some sort of "Normal" to see Metal Residues, That`s Why I Believe it is Not "Normal" to have Metal Residues on an Engine`s Oil Pan... if it would be Normal, then I Believe that Engine`s Oil Drain Screws Would have the Same Magnetic Top Too... Unless the Reason about they Don`t have it, is Because the Engine is made of Aluminium and the Oil Filter... So, I Don`t Believe it is Completely Normal to Have Metal Residues on an Engine`s Oil Pan... but Maybe There`s more Dirt involved than Metal there. Good Luck!
  17. Thank You! ... ... I Was Thinkin` about That and Wasn`t Sure, `cos in Spanish Both are the Same, Like the Word "Motor" ... I Noticed that in English, People use "Motor" just for electric ones, and "Engine" for Fuel Powered ones, in Spanish "Motor" is the Same for Both, just like Weld is the Same for Thick Metal & Electronics. Again Thank You!
  18. I Usually Call `em "Radio Shark" `cos their Prices at Local Stores Bites! When I say "Weld" I am Talkin` about Using a Soldering Gun + Soldering Wire. The Soldering Wire is made from tin core with resin' date=' it Melts when the Soldering Gun Touches it with its Hot Tip.[/color'] Every Single Wire I have Modified / Touched \ Wired on every Car I`ve Worked, had their ends Welded. That Prevents from Loose Contacts and Power Loss. For Example See This Picture: Here you can See the Soldering Gun`s Hot Tip, Touchin` a Wires` Knot to be Welded, in the Background you`ll Notice the tin core with resin Soldering Wire Roll. Also, Welded antenna Wires Prevents from Signal Loss, due to Corrotion / Loose Contact \ Dirt on Wires... Remember that Almost all cooper based Wires, have a very fine varnish Coat, which makes a Li`l bit of Loose Contact on Unwelded Wires. Hope this Idea Can Help you... And I Hope You`ll Understand my English, `cos I Learned it only by Myself, maybe the word "Weld" is not the Right one here? ... Maybe "Soldering" is Better. Kind Regards!
  19. You Turned Up the Radio! "Anti-Tickin` Device" !!! That`s Soo Funny! Well... Beside the Fun about the "Anti-Tickin` Device" I Believe that if the Tickin` Noise is Gettin` Softer, you`re Making something Good about it, I Believe that maybe it will Start to going Softer with Time, if Engine Maintains the Good High Oil Pressure.
  20. is just the Plug the Cutted one, or also the Wire is Cutted Down so Short that can`t Reach the Stereo Unit? If it is Just the Plug, you can Weld to the Wire a New one, available at Radio Shak or Similar Stores. if it is the Wire cutted Down, but Still Reachable to your Hands, you can obtain another Antenna Wire with the Plug already (in a Junk Yard for example) and Weld the Wires Together. if you Weld `em, be Carefull to not Mix both Lines, use Electrical Tape. if it is Cutted too Down that it became very Short, you can Follow it Behind the Dash, remove the wire to the Point where you can Reach it enough to Weld another Wire to it. You must be imaginative to Fix that... Depending on How Short / reachable is the Antenna wire. Good Luck!
  21. I`m Glad that you Found it! ... ... Now you can Post Pics of it Here!
  22. I'll Love to Have "Antique" Plates too ... but here such thing Doesn't Exist. They will Look Nice on my '69 Coupé Kind Regards.
  23. Yes, I Agree... You're Right. But I'm Writing About "What's Next to Come" Will the Diesel Subaru Engines bring a Newer Generation?
