I Agree, Absolutely... Maybe it have something to do with the Subaru-Toyota Projects Maybe Toy wants to Develop their WRC Car Based on a Subie? They Already have the Toy AE86 (Trueno) Reborn Project, based on Subie... That Sucks!

The Basics: First of All, Disconnect Both Batery Cables, Then Get the Proper Tools and Leave the Car in Neutral but be Careful with it. I Believe This Question will fit Better in New Gen Forums... Good Luck!

Well... me Too! ... but I do Believe that your Subie will Need some Tires Upgrade to do That... -
TOD are the initials of "Tick Of Death" ... This is How we Call to the Valve`s Hydraulic Lifters Noise, when it Becomes Loud... Usually it Becomes Loud due to Lubrication Problems, for example a Bad Oil Pump that Brings low Pressure... Even if it is called like That, it Won`t Kill your Engine, I Know Many EA82`s that have had That TOD Noise for Years, when it is Loud, the Engine Losts Performance...

Stupid cost cutting Subaru crap
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Phizinza's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Agree that the Fun is in the Building, but Just the Half of the Fun, the Other Half is in "To Drive" Your Subies... They are not Statues! Well... I Know that Mercedes are German & Expensive, While Subarus are Japanese and Not as Expensive -but Not too Cheap- But There`s Something to Consider: They are like "Water and Oil" Very Different, for example: You can Not Lift an 80`s Mercedes Sedan or Wagon and Put on it Big Fat Tires and go Wheelin` at the Mountains off Roading... Do You Remember the Slogan That Subaru Used on the XT and XT6 Banners on 80`s Magazines? it Said: "The Un-Mercedes Like" I Have some Old "Car & Driver" Magazines Somewhere... -
LOUD "ping": Problem Solved
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to Greenley's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Thank You! You can Try a "Oil Catch Can" if you want to Route the Heads` 5/8" Hoses along to the PCV, to avoid Blown oil from being Sucked by the intake or Carb. My Weberized Wagon have the PCV Appart with its own 5/8" Filter, and Both Heads` Hoses are Routed to a "T", its open end goes to the Carb, Doing that, Blown oil Goes from one Head to the Other one, letting just the Fumes going to the Carb... But I am Considering to use a Catch Can in the Future. See: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=92384 Good Luck! -
Me Neither... Well ... Let me explain this: when the Crankcase is low, the dipstick shows little Oil ... the Dipstick Oil Level goes up Slowly when the Crankcase has from Emty to Full Oil... but if you go anymore from the Full Crankcase, the Oil Level at the Dipstick Goes Up a Lot! I Suggest to Drain Just the Little Overfill you subie Has, the ".2" and see if the Dipstick goes Just to the F. Another thing to Consider is that EA82`s trend to Make more "TOD" Noise with Overfill Oil and Low Oil... or at least That`s my Experience. Best Regards.

Nice Job! ... Well Done! Well, I Suggest you to Cap each Vacuum that will be no longer Needed, and Disconnect the Wires from those Switch... All those are Emmisions things... I Removed everything in my Weberized Wagon, it also makes it Look Cleaner! -
EA82 Crank Pulley removal help
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to cmiller's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I Suggest to Spray some good Penetrating oil, then give Small hits to the Nut, so it makes it Easy to Turn. Be Careful when Pulling the Pulley, a stuck Pulley must be pulled Carefully because if you use a Tool between the Pulley and the Engine Block, the Pulley can Break! Good Luck! -

What Other Cars.....
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to devildog78brat's topic in Historic Subaru Forum: 50's thru 70's
That was an Hitachi Carb? ... Why don`t you just Forget about it, and swap there a Weber? Weber Carbs Always give Better Performance a more Low End Torque. -

Great! ... I will Like to See Pictures of your Weber Setup! -
Yes, you Overfilled it! EA82`s Using the Large Oil Filter, can "Swallow" Almost one Gallon -a Li`l Bit Less- that is very around 3.7 Liters or so, and using the Small oil Filter, it can "Swallow" just 3.5 or a Li`l bit Less...
