  1. This is a "Runnin` Picture" of my Setup: The Return Spring Goes to the Metallic Pipe from the Power Steering Pump. Kind Regards!
  2. Nice Pictures! How Cute are the Babys!!! ... ... I have a Baby Daughter too, she owns my Heart ... ... LoL! ... Yes, excuse me ... ... I Have been very Busy with my Baby Daughter... Well, This is me! This Photo was Taken Some Time Ago: this is Near my Job's Office, my White Weberized Subie and I. And This: is a Recent Picture, Taken about a Week Ago, Here I am (The Fat one) with another USMB Member, my Friend Mark (SUPERU) and my Yellow Subie behind ! Kind Regards!
  3. Thank you for your Kind Replies! Those Cans seems to be a Great Idea! :banana:Could you Tell me How to Maintain those Cans Clean? ... I Mean: They have a Way to Clean up, isn`t it? ... if so, How Often? Could I Connect Both Heads` Hoses to just one Can, and obtain a Single Hose Out? ... That will be Great! Where could I Obtain those Cans? Thank you, Best Regards!
  4. What a Nice Picture! Here Never Snows -obviously- in Tropics Just Rains a Huge Amount of Water... but Sometimes it Rains Icy Drops very Hard Enough to Broke some Glass... The Weird Thing this Year, is that -Right Now- We are under Red Alert in the North Coast, Due to the Flood, Caused by Huge Rains at the Cities of La Ceiba and Tela ... How Could it Be in December? !!! Here Rainy Season Starts in May and Ends by November... So World`s Climate is Getting Weird...
  5. Thank you for your Kind Words! By this Writings & Pics, I Just want to Help People that are in Serious Need of Better -Safer- Lights, so I Suggest to Avoid those crappy cheap H.I.D. Kits that has Blueish Lights in only one Direction... those only Blinds the incoming Drivers and Blue Lights are "eaten" by Dark Roads, Specially wet Pavement. Very Unsafe. This Kit, in Low Beam Doesn`t Hurt the incoming Drivers` Eyes, so it is Safe! and White with a Li`l Bit Yellowish tint Lights is the Better Choice. Kind Regards!
  6. Well... Here Comes the Pictures!!! But First, let me Explain Something: I've Changed the Corner Lights Too, with White Led Lights, in order to Match the H.I.D. Beam Colour! ... ... I Have Used many Kinds of One-Contact Bulbs There, This is a Brief Idea of the One-Contact Bulb's Evolution: So, I Used All of Them in the corner lights, except the Big Headed one... (it Does Not Fit on the Subie`s Lamps) ...and the One Contact Halogen. Those are just for Reverse Lights Only, due to Their Workin' Temperature ... They can Melt the Plastic Lenses in Long Time of Use. The Dynamo one is for Bicicles using a Dynamo Generator, it is 12 Volts but Twice the Output of a Regular Bulb... but They Does not last too Long on a Car, due to the Higher Amperage Levels. So my Subie Have the Newer one, the Multiple Leds 5000K Bulbs! Now, here you can See How the H.I.D. Kit Came Packaged by Mail: This is How it Looks, Just Out of the Box! Then I installed the Passenger's side Ballast, just Behind the HeadLamp, on the inner side of the Fender: But to place the other Ballast on the Driver's side wasn't easy; I had to remove the Coolant Overflow tank, remove the metallic base for it that the inner fender had, then I noticed that I could place only one of the needed two screws for the Ballast; so, what I did to solve that, was to open a large hole on the side where I can't place a screw, and raise one of said hole's sides. Here's a photo, after all that was done, and the Surfaces were repainted: What I did, was to "Slide" the base for the screw, inside the raised side of the opened hole: Finally I secured the Ballast in Place, using the other side's screw: Then I placed their Control Unit, just behind the ignition coil, on the Strut Tower: Finally, I obtained a Relay & Fuse Box from an early 1990's decade Toyota Corolla, which I modified in order to let it have inside only what I needed, such like an Standard Bosch Relay, and certain Fuses; also I obtained one of the rear Aluminium Mud Flaps from a 1998 4 Runner, cut a small part from it and bent it in a 90º angle, in order to make a metallic mount for said Relay & Fuse Box, which allows me to install it, over the Driver's side Ballast, see: Here, you can see how far is it from the Ballast, and how close is it from the Battery, Perfect Placement! Here's a photo of said Box internals: This Box allows me to have a Cleaner engine bay, Safer setup for everything, and easiness for washing Now, the Pics you're Waitin' for: illumination! ... ... see the Low Beams: And this is High Beams: A Picture Worth 1,001 Words! ... I Really Believe that now I Have Safer Night Vision in my Subie; I Do Many Night time Travels, so Security is Priority, Specially when you have Babys Kind Regards!
  7. Well... I Have done Many Paint Jobs, (my recent one is my Weberized Sub into Yellow, like my Other Wagon) but I Use an Air Compressor Gun... is Amazing wht you can do with Rattle Spray cans! I Have Painted two Cars (One was my First Paint Job: a 1972 Datsun 1600 Pick Up) with Synthetic Paint (Synthetic is the Paint that comes -Ussually- on that Rattle Cans, Quarters, and Gallons) and that Paint gives Great Results, the only Problem with that, is that Synthetic Paints trend to loose -fade- the Shine... in around one Year... Well it Depends on Weather, sun, etc... Nice Cars! ... I Like the Ford, the Brats and the Flat Black Impreza, I Believe that Flat Black is a Good Choice; All Looks with Very Well Done Paint Jobs!
  8. No, they are not Standard, They are Special Two Position Electromagnetc H.I.D.s of 85 Volts and 55 Watts (Power Consumption, not Output, the Cheap Kits has 35 Watts Bulbs) That fit Right into the Halogen Lamps with socket 9004; the Owner of the site "Retro Solutions" Where I Obtained the Kit, is very Kind, he Answered right Each e-mail I Sent to Him, and he Told me that they has Plenty of Parts, but he Told me the the kit comes with a Full Lifetime Warranty, due to the Fact that Each Bulb Does Not Have any Resistor that can be Burnt, Just Gas. The Huge Sealed Ballasts Transform the 12 Volts from the Car, to 85 Volts. I Hope that I Can Post Pictures Soon... Maybe Tonight I will Shoot some Pics!
  9. Believe me: I Have Never been Safer Before!... I Really was Thinking that the H.I.D. was Bad Idea, Untill I Found this Special Kit. The Bulbs Moves Up and Down to the Same Position Always, Because it has a Permanent Magnet Down, that Holds the Bulb in Low Beam Position when you have the Stick in Low Beam, Without any electricity, but when you Switch the Stick to High Beams, an Electro Magnet receives Electricity and since it is more Powerful than the Permanent one, it Pulls the Bulb Up to the High Beams; Both Magnets Holds the Bulb very Tight and the Light Pattern is Always the Same. Believe me: The Light Spread with those H.I.D.`s are Almost Equal -the same- that the Subie Has with the Standard Halogens, But it seems to be like 500% more Powerfull and Whiter. I Will Take some Pictures of my Subie and the Light Pattern / Movement from Low to High Beams, and Post them here as Soon as I Can. If you Still Do Not Believe me, you can ask another Board Member, My Friend Mark (SUPERU) who came to Honduras last November and came with me for a Night Ride in my Subaru, with the H.I.D.`s
  10. Well... I Was Thinking that Usually in our Pictures, only Appears our Subies and other Things... But Not Us, the Ones Behind the Wheel! So Lets Share some Pics of Us! Kind Regards.
  11. Long time have been Passed... the Server Went Down and Many Things Happened since then... I have Researched too much About the H.I.D. Kits for Halogen Lamps. I have Test Drive some Friend`s Cars, with Different H.I.D. Kits on their Halogens, and I Found that Those Cheap Chinese Bad Quality Kits, just have one Beam, they have many Hot Spots, they Blind the incoming Traffic, and their Blueish Light trend to Dissapear under Wet Road Driving... Too Bad! I Told to my Friend, who has the H.I.D. that he wanted to give me, to keep it for Him... :-\ ... "No, Thanks!" So, they are a Bad Idea... Well... Not All! Let me Explain: Searching Deeply, I Found a Place Called "Retro Solutions" where they offer the only H.I.D. Kit that Has not Glare, nor Hot Spots, and is Designed to Avoid Blinding the incoming Traffic, Also it is the More Powerful kit on the Market and its Light is not any Blueish. How it Works? ... The H.I.D. Bulb got an Electro Magnetic System that Moves the Bulb, so you Keep the Low and the High Beam Function from your Car... Exactly as it came Factory! in Low Beam, it Does Not Reaches too High, so it Avoid Blinding the incoming Drivers; Also their Bulb is Well Designed to Keep the Original Halongen Lamp`s Spread Light Pattern -Spectrum- So it "Feels" like Original Equipment. in High Beam is like Driving in DayLight! So I Obtained a Great H.I.D. Kit from Them... I Already installed it on my EA82 Wagon (Recently Painted in Yellow like my Other Wagon) and I Won`t Go Back Anymore to Halogens! ... I Will Post Pictures of my subie with H.I.D.`s as Soon as I Can, I Have not had enough spare time since some Time Ago... This Pictures are from the Retro Solutions` Servers, This one Shows the Colour Temp in K degrees: This one, Shows the Kit, that Comes in an Aluminum Briefcase! This ones Gives an Idea of their Deffined ilumination Pattern with No Glare: I Hope I Can Post Pics of My Subie Soon.
  12. What is an Oil / Air Separator? ... Do you Have Pics? Thanks!
  13. Not Only a Nice Great Car! ... ... Very Beautiful Photos, Well Taken! Thank you for Sharing those Wonderful Pics!
  14. Why a Dream? ... You can Swap an EA81 There, but Also in some Countries like Mine, the EA81 Engine was still Available in some Models untill early 1990`s decade, even EA71 in Loyales, like the 1.6 DL ... also here you can find some rare 1.3 DL Four Speed Sedan Loyales ...
  15. So, Maybe it only needs a Minor Job, let me Explain. My EA82 Wagon, Back in 2005 started to Burn a Li`l bit of Oil and lost some Compression, maybe the Situation was just like Yours... I Opened it, and just Changed the Valves` Seals and Resealed them (adjusting Valves` Fit to the Heads), and Changed Head Gaskets and Sealers / Retainers... and That`s All the Engine Needed to be Running Great Again! Welcome to the Board and Good Luck!
  16. Nice!!! ... ... an SVX!!!Congratulations! Why don`t you sell the Civic instead?
  17. ... What is exactly that you are Searchin` for? ... (Alcyone or Vortex a.k.a. XT or XT6 and then SVX)
  18. Congratulations on your New Subie! I do Believe that if you Follow the Wires, you can find the Place where the Fog Lights connects to the Main Headlights, and you can Separate them from there, and Run them with an independent Switch; maybe with a New -independent- Relay and Power Source. Also, you can disconnect the Original Wires from the Car, and install there New -independent- Wires, but Keeping the Original ones insulated and Safe, so you can Switch bact to Them if its needed in the Future. Good Luck and Pics Please!!!
  19. Well... I Don`t Understand it Completely... Except the Subaru Brat`s Drift!
  20. Yes, I Agree with the Sticky Thermostat Idea... Also a Damaged Hose Could be There... Some time Ago, the 5/8" Hose that Comes from the Water Pump to the Heather, in my EA82 Wagon, had a Tiny Hole, very minimal but when Water / Coolant Reached Hig Temps, it comes out like Vapor, from that Damaged Hose... Maybe Somethin` similar is Happening there too... Also you must Search for a Damaged Ball Bearin` from Belt`s Tensioners... Just a Li`l Question: Why the Other Thread got Locked? Good Luck with Your Coupe!
  21. No, I Don`t Think So... I Was Searchin` for a ignition Switch some time Ago, Junk Yard Ones was Terribly Bad... I Found it Brand New, and Cheap at the Dealer. Did you Went to look for it at the Dealer? Good Luck!
  22. Yes! ... I Agree, and They can be in "Between" Good and Bad, Let me Explain: Rusted Terminals. Rusted Fusible Link`s Terminals can make them have Contact for Short Times, While Vibration can make them Loose to False Contact, even if they are Hard in their Place... So, I Agree with the Fusible Links Idea... Also, a Starter Switch Could be too... I Suggest to Check `em Both, Just in Case... Good Luck!
  23. Oh my God! ... Don`t Give Up! Since 1985, My EA82 Wagon Have given Not Only Lots of Troubles, Also Great Moments and Wonderful Travels... Many Times it was So Screwed Up... First my Dad Started Repairing it (I was too Child, but I Learned from Him) then I, and Now I Wonder, remembering the Hard Times we Passed Together, and How great is That Subie Running Now. That Wagon is my Everyday Warrior, (The Other one is my Dad`s) I Know that Maybe soon, something can fail and the Wagon can Leave me alone in the Middle of Nowhere, at Midnight, in a Road, etc... but I am Sure That I can Fix it Up Again and Again; with the Help of God, Working on it and with the Kind Words and Advices that All Our Friends here at the USMB Posts, giving Ideas, Sharing Experiences, Pictures, etc... and That Situations Just Makes the "Subaru - Owner" Relationship goes Stronger, like a Friendship, Because everytime I Start my Wagon and it Takes me to the Everyday`s Roads and more, I am Glad to Know that the Car Runs Because I`ve Worked in it, sometimes very Hard, fixing it Up and Maintaining it Good! It is a Sensation of Satisfaction that can be Felt only Facing that kind of Troubles and Fixing them Up... and Working to make your Subie Better, Everyday. it is Different from the "New Car" Sensation, when People Just Buy a Car and then Accesories for it, they could have a Nice Ride but no "Friendship" with that Car, only Fixing it Up and Learning from Each Step Taken, Again and Again with Time, is The Only Way to Be Better Doing Something. So I Suggest to give Time, Wait Untill you feel Better and Then Begin Again, but Don`t Give Up! I Really Wish I Could be Near of You, to Help you Fixing it Up... But I am Sure that you Can Do It, only by YourSelf! You are Strong and you have the Power to Continue, you just need to be Patience. Good Luck!!!
  24. Do you Remember it? My Very First Child Was Born in October She and my Wife needed my Attention, so I Took Vacations from Work to be with them since that date; But I Used the Free Spare Time from the Last Two Weeks, Preparing and then Painting my EA82 Wagon I Choosed Yellow too, like my Other Wagon (the 2.7) but with some Style Changes: ► I Used Brighter Yellow Paint and Deep Black Paint for Stripes! ► I "Shaved" the Subie's Body. ► a Friend was able to Help we with the Job and I Used his Air Compressor, Paint Gun, etc... for Free! ► The Motivation: Here in my Country, ALL Taxis are White, and 85% are Wagons! ... ... My white Subie was Looking like a Taxi ... ... also I Really Love How those wagons Looks in Yellow! My EA82 Wagon is Almost Finished in Light Yellow with Black Stripes ... it took Time and Hard Work Between Preparing my Subie and to be with my Girls... but this Vacations was some sort of "Now or Never" for Me... is Hard to Obtain Free Time this days, you Know... I Worked some days untill Very Late Night... I Almost Finished Yesterday ... ... I Took some Pictures That I Will Post Soon, when I can Find my Camera! This Weekend, I Hope I Could Find the Camera and Post here some Pics... I Also Fixed by the way, some Minor Problems the Subie Had and taked the Pics of that too! Today I Went to my Job Again... no more Vacation Untill Next Year, and I am Soo Tired... but it was Worth the Effort!!! Kind Regards & Blessings! _______________________________________________ ► Edit: This Thread continues Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122276-the-bumble-beast/ Because since I took parts from my Wrecked 2.7 wagon to Transform this, My former white Weberized Wagon has been Renamed as: "The BumbleBeast" Please feel free to review and Post in That Thread. Kind Regards. Thread Closed.
  25. Yes, I Agree! ... My Wagons, with Front Coil Springs from a Ford Tempo, and Rear from a Honda, is Very Firm, and in Off-Road conditions (too Usual here... ) I Have to Drive Slow... ...Very Slow...
