  1. Nice Work! ... I Like the Finnish! ... it Looks Great! I Painted both my Wagons myself! it is a Nice Job to Do!
  2. Yes! ... is True!!! ... Both my Subie Wagons are just FWD! ... and I Love `em!!! Don`t Forget "Gasoline" Too, my Friend! Me Too!!! After 22 Years / over 250,000 Miles of Ownin` a EA82 Wagon, (My White Wagon is 1985 model, and dad purchased it since that year!) and Now Proudly Owning two Subaru Wagons with the Same Shape and Model, but with Different Engines (My Yellow Wagon is another Story...) and Also, after years of Repairs, Blood, tears, effort, etc... not only on my Wagons, `cos I help other people`s Subies, from Friends, and Friend of Friends... etc... I can Tell you that I Love my Subies, I`m Soo Happy with `em, and they are Really Great Cars, Really Great!!! (Also, just for info, the Shape of the Subaru "Loyale" is Know also as the "GL", "DL", "OMEGA", "Leone" and even as the "Isuzu Gemminett II" ... depending on the Market Area; for More info, visit: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53434 ) I Think it is a Good Idea to Renew your Wagon, I have the same Feelin` when I Repair / Improve \ Make Somethin` to One of my Wagons... I Can "Hear" the mute Scream of the Another one, askin` me to do that for it too... :-\ ...that must be a "Trapped Between two Loves" Feeling, but in a way, it is a Good Feeling, `cos it makes us to Maintain our Subies at it`s Best, and been Always Thinkin` in how to improve `em. Good Luck!
  3. For Sure! I`ll Check and Change it Tomorrow, early Mornin` Wish me Luck!
  4. Thanx for many Replies! ... I`ll do a voyage to my Parent`s home to check that, and then I`ll post here the Results, I`ll try the Spade Connector and everythin` Suggested. That sounds very Nice! ... but the Yellow Wagon is my Father`s Everyday Runner, so maybe he don`t like the Idea to Start the engine of the "Unique XT6 Wagon" like a Tractor... but I`ll consider that for my White Wagon, (that`s my Everyday Runner) if it Fails, `cos is a Great Idea! ... Thank you!
  5. Maybe that is Because Many Many of them, were sold used to Latin America! Here are Plenty of Old Subies, Specially 70's & 80's Kind Regards.
  6. Thank you for your Fast Answer!!! Sadly I have not any chance to Go this weekend to my Parents Home (Where the Yellow Wagon is), to Check it out... `cos I need to Revive my White Wagon (that is here with me), that has a very Weird sound in the Engine... but I`ll suggest to my dad to gave a Li`l hit to the Starter if it refuses to start; and I`ll go check it maybe next weekend. Thank you!
  7. Well... this time is for my Yellow Wagon... The ER27 doesn`t wanna Start at the first time the key is Turned... I`m not near of it, but dad Called and said that everythin` is Just Fine, the Battery is Brand New, all the Dashboard Lights are very bright and remains in that way even with the key Turned... ...the Starter just make a Li`l "Click" mute Sound... At around seven key turns, it wants to start, but very Hardly... like a Dead Battery... and then one turn more, it Starts very "Happily" :-\ ... Dad said that even the Battery wires are fine... (He Changed `em last January) ...and I`m not Sure which part can cause it. Sometimes the Subie Just Starts fine at the Firts key Turn, very "Happily" and stay that way, startin` fine all the day, or two... then the "Dead Start" Syndrome begins again... Sometimes it takes just three, or seven, or so tries to Start... Any Idea? Thanx! ... JesZeK
  8. Well... I got 'em, and if you want to download a .pdf copy of the FSM for Loyales, Look Here: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/122276-the-bumble-beast/page-5 Neither me... and my Dad and I have repaired those rear drum brakes since 1985 I Really Like the Rear drum brake setup, but that setup on the FWD version vehicles, came with a weak lock system, that I've improved very well... for More info about, see: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/70590-locking-the-rear-wheels-on-2wd-only/?do=findComment&comment=580354 Kind Regards. ► Edited to fix the broken web links.
  9. First: Thank you soo much for your Kind Replies! Then: I changed both Timin` Belts & "Just" the Ball Bearin` from the old Tensioner, (I`ve Changed Just the Ball Bearin` several Times... Maybe is time for a Brand New Tensioner) last december... and I rechecked `em when I changed the Oil Pump, in February of this Year... Everythin` was Fine then... The Idea given by 86BRATMAN gave me a "Light in the Darkness"... it Really sounds like the Timin` Belt -or Somethin`- is Hitting the plastic Cover from the inside... Sadly: I can`t check my Subie today, `cos I`m doin` some Serious -Special- Work at my Job... The Trouble started yesterday, and inmediately I asked a Friend who lives Nearby the place it happened, to let me keep my Subie in his Garage (he has spare space for one car) and I used his internet connection just to post this thread, I was in a Hurry, so I taked a Taxi... :-\ ...and Now I think that I will check my Subie `till Saturday Afternoon... Well... Again Thank You! ... Wish me Luck!
  10. Well... I was Drivin´ today my White Wagon, and then the Engine Started makin´ a Horrible Grindin´ Noise, Just lika a Diesel Engine do!!! What could it be? ... :-\ ... I Checked External Belts and they´re Fine, everythin´ seems to be Just Fine, engine starts and Revvs Pretty Nice, it woks Just fine, but the Grindin´ noise sound like a Boved sound, maybe from Plastic... ... it comes from the Driver´s Side, specifically the timin´ belt Area... I´ll Check Tomorrow, but Any Suggestion is Welcome! Thanx! Best Regards. JesZeK
  11. Well... me Too. Absolutely. Sometime ago, I Didn´t found anythin´ else but Fram for my EA82 Wagon, and 20 Minutes after the Oil Change, my dad and I heard a Loud "POP!" sound, followed by a droppin´ sound... :-\ ...it was the oil filter, being ejected by the Engine! droppin´ out... Dad said it was due the Lower Raise of the Fram filter´s Thread... it just took two turns or less at the oil pump´s Base... ...So, Thanks to God I did Shut off the Car inmediately... so Engine didn´t got any Damage, but that did wasted almost all the Gallon of brand new 20W-50 Motul Minerally oil... So, Anythin´ but Fram.
  12. Already Repaired! if you wanna see the Process, it is Here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=609743#post609743
  13. I Really Like that "Under Construction" Signal: Nice Idea!!!
  14. Is very far away the Place you wanna go? ... Maybe you can Take the XT6 and your friend the Wagon too... That thing remembered me the "Corvette Wagon", people at GM done back in the 80´s... They needed a Fast wagon to Haul Things & Haul rump roast Too... (Well, me too... That´s the Idea of my Yellow Wagon) ...so, they Used a Chevrolet Full Sized Wagon, with everythin´ from a Corvette... Engine, drivetrain, etc... it even said "Corvette" in is Back... I saw it an a 80´s Car & Driver mag... but that´s another story... Good Luck!
  15. Good Luck Jonas! And Please, review this mini Tip´s Manual I Wrote: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?p=601131#post601131 Also, this Thread might be Helpful: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=53143 Again: Good Luck! Best Regards. JesZeK
  16. Well... it all Started one Weekend, my Dad took the Yellow Wagon to do a Short trip, and he stopped at a Gas station for some gas, then at its food mart for some snacks. While he was sat on the car, correctly Parked at the Food Mart, talkin' by Cellphone, someone drunk driver did side hit the front bumper very Fast... and this is the Result: The Damage wasn't much bigger, due to the fact that the bumper was already reinforced with Fiberglass and some added metal assist points, but the car moved around a feet horizontally with the side hit. Well... dad just got a li'l Head's hit, but he's Fine, O.K. Now ... but my Yellow Wagon's front Bumper was in very sad conditions... So, I went home (I work soo far away for now) to do the Repair, and I asked a friend who is a Good Fiberglass Artisan, to help me with such material. First, we took out the Front Bumper. This is a Detailed view of the Damage, includin' some Li'l twist on it's Metallic Base. Then, we started to remove out the old finish material and we Dissasembled it, Repairin' the Li'l Twist on its Base, and Reinforced it with more metallic assist points, a pair of `em did bypass the original plastic cover, The idea is to hold very firm that plastic cover to the Metallic base. We needed to cut down the Remainin' Reinforcement points... ...This is my Friend, doin' that. Then, We used sandpaper and covered it with the Fiberglass. Fiberglass comes like a Fiber Fabric, just cut the pieces you want, and then Spread all over it a Epoxy Compound, mixed with Hardener... Many coats of that Epoxy / Fiber, like you're makin' a Lasagna! Then, we used Sandpaper on the Already Dryed Fiberglass (untill Next day's Afternoon, to be Sure that was completely Cured) And Covered it with Flex. You can Notice a Li'l bit the Heads of the Metallic Assist points, and the Licence Plate's Screws, that comin' from behind the Bumper. This is how it ended lookin` at my Friend`s Repair Shop: (he did help me with fiberglass, I Prepared and Painted it) And Finally, This is the Results: My Yellow Wagon's Smile is Back! ... ... I Love it! The Bumper was Clean, while the Rest of the car was Dirty... But it Looks Soo Good! Well... I Hope this Idea could help those who want to Repair or Improve the Lookin' of their Car's Bumpers... Next to Do: a Hood Scoop... "the InterFooler" ...Comin' Soon! Kind Regards.
  17. Here in my Country, I use to Drive both my Wagons with Low Octane and High Octane Levels without much difference at All... in my Country there are only those two kinds of Gas, both Unleaded since 1994. Since Here only are avaliable High Octane (Called "Premium" with suposed to be 90 octanes, but it hardly reaches 87 :-\ ) @ $4.ºº USD per Gallon (Around L70.ºº Lempiras, -our Currency is always around 20 per USD-) and Low Octane (Called "Regular" that supossed to be 85 octanes but it hardly reaches 83 :-\ ) @ $3.50 USD per Gallon... I frequently switch from one to another -due to avaliability issues- (Not only avaliability of Gas itself... sometimes I ran out of money ) and I have noticed This: I don´t have a EA82Turbo, but in my Weberized EA82, I have noticed that with just "Premium" Gas, the Car uses Less amount of it to do the Same work, than with "Regular" Gas. Really! ... I don´t have valve´s noise issues, nor fumes or Smokes, or anything noticeable usin´ just Premium or Regular, but if my Subie uses only Regular, it will Eat more to do the same effort / trip \ Miles than the amount that it shall eat with just Premium in exactly the same conditions of Load / enviroment \ Road. Dad said that he heard some sort of Valve´s noises in the engine of the Yellow Wagon, when he use Regular Fuel... so he only use Premium... What do you think ´bout?
  18. Maybe it is a Dumb way to Answer, but: The car is Placed in a Flat Ground while you check the Oil Level? ... I Ask you that, ´cos I knew a case of a boy who checked his Car´s oil level in his Garage, with a 10º on the Floor... :-\ Also: Let your car´s engine "rest" for a While in the Gas Station before check it, it not only lets it cool down a Li´l Bit; it also lets the amount of Oil that will remain on the Valve´s train, to find its way down to the carter again, so You´ll check it more accurate. Good Luck!
