For that, I´ll Sugest Go Weber! ... it Makes a Incredible Deep Loud Roar when it Opens the Secondary... (it Scares People Out!) but if Your Subie is F.I. ... I Think That you have other "Silent" Choices... To "Feel" Real Better Performance just by Done simple things, you need to do Many "Simple" Things, as Upgrade your Engine´s Coil for a Higher Voltage one, Use Better Wires, Sparkplug Wires (There isn´t much you can do with Sparkplugs, as EA82 "Loves" Just the NGK´s ... I Suggest you to Choose the BPR6EY11 NGK´s, the ones with the "Y" Cuted Electrode) and Tune Up the Engine, and if your State´s Laws Allow, remove the Cathalitic Converters, EGR, smog Stuff etc... Good Luck! -

Milage Machine. Ideas
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to tailgatewagon's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Just a Simple yet Effective Idea on the Fly: Disconnect the Secondary Stage´s Vacuum Actuator from the Hitachi Carb, and Cap it. Believe me: Without the Secondary, You´ll save Gas, but your Subie will Become Lazy... I Suggest you to Try it for a While... Good Luck! -

You´re Right! Not Only No Thermostat in my Subes, Also No Heather Core. (I Bypassed it) I Think that can make the Water Pump do Less Effort to Move the Water Thru the Engine, so I Think there´s a Li´l Amount of Power Gained by That Too. I Think That You did the Right Thing Too... That´s what I Tried to Say... -
Nice Link you Found! ... Thanx!

Well... I Think that it isn´t too Cool, ´cos I Run my EA82 Everyday without Thermostat and with a Double Line Radiator, the temp hardly reaches 1/4 (Except when I´m stuck in a Traffic Jam, when goes Near to the Half) and I Just Noticed that my Subie Feels More Powerful. Also HeadGaskets will Last Longer! As Far as I Know, the Idea of Maintain the Engine´s Temp at the Half with the Thermostat, is to make Cathalythic Converters Work, so is a Just Environmental Reason. but Maybe Thermostats will Help an Engine who Works on Very Cold Climates... Bucky: Good Job, Well Done! ... I Like your Subie! Maybe you can Consider the Idea of Left it Without the Thermostat. -

Me Too! -
¡Oh, Grácias! (it means Thank You!) Well... The Good thing about, is that you Didn´t get Hurt... and your car didn´t fell stuck in the Middle on the Train´s Tracks while it was Comin´ it Remembers me the 1992 Christmas Eve ... My White Wagon Ran Out of Gas at 10:50 pm, in the Middle of the Road Back Home! (about 7 Km from Home) :-\ I Was soo in a Hurry to get Home Prior to Midnight, (I was bringin´ some Christmas Presents) and I Didn´t saw the Li´l Amber cube light near the Gas Gauge... So, I Walked back to get Gas and I Found one Gentleman that gave me half Gallon from his Car... but he Didn´t took me back to my car, so I Walked Back, Poured the Gas on my Subie... and I Finally Went Home at about 2:00 am... Everybody was Slept and I Didn´t get my Christmas Hug... ...Also, next Mornin´ my Parents were mad with me... Yes, it was on the White Wagon... and I Didn´t took any Pics due to the Lack of Batteries for my Friend´s Camera (Digital Cameras Sucks a Lot of Batteries... well at Least that Samsung A302) My Sister Broke my Digital Camera last December... We took too many Pics that Easter Vacation (Called Here "Holy Week") and that Night the Camera was Dead. I´ll Loved to Post here Pics of that Enormous Crater... So you can Figure out the Situation. I Asked some People about How could be Possible that Crater didn´t had any Warnin´ Banner or Somethin´ Alike, and then one man, at the Tyre Repair center -Next Mornin´- said that it was a "Brand New" Crater "instantly Made" due to the Heavy Rain that happens along two days before, the Water Flow broke the Old Concrete Pipes that went under the Road and the Under Road´s Ground went with the Water Flow... ...so the Hugest Crater I Ever Seen was Made in two Days of Rain! Could you Believe it? ... Maybe due to the Old Age of our Roads... that was from 1972 and Survived the Fifí, and Mitch Hurricanes, just to Mention Few Famous... I´ll Save that Twisted Strut... is Unbelievable. I got Lucky to Find in a Junk Yard an Old Well Strut.
