Effective Carbon Remover
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to samneric's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Believe it or Not, I Suggest you to Try Water ... Yes, Fresh & Clean Water... and the Better of it, is that´s Free! ... Let me Explain: With Engine at Normal Operatin´ Temps, just Remove the Air Filter Box, and Accel the Engine at Around 2,500 Rpm´s Then, drop a ounce ot two of Clean Water (The one that you Could Drink) ... The Engine will Shake an Rough Revvin´ for a While... a Huge Black Cloud Shall come from the Exhaust. That´s Carbon Deposits being Removed from the Pistons / Cylinders \ Cams. Let engine Rev Back at 2,500 Rpm´s again ... and Again let it Drop two more Ounces of Clean Water... and So On. Repeat all Again, untill doesn´t come Black Clouds from the Exhaust... And That´s it. Good Luck! -

How did that Happen? -
It Must be the Thermo Switch, located in the Right-Down Corner of the Radiator. Just Change it! To be Sure that´s the Problem, Just Disconnect the Plug to it, the Fan Shall Not Comin´ On. Good Luck!

Timing Belt Covers - Yay or Nay?
Loyale 2.7 Turbo replied to mrroot's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Well... Today, an old Friend called me, to ask ´bout where to Find Cheapest Timin´ Belts for his Girlfriend´s Subie, it is a 1987 Loyale EA82 Wagon, he Told me that her Brother did took off the Timin´ Belt Covers since last Year, (They where broked) so She drived the Subie just with the Rear Part of ´em. He told me that a "Floatin´ Plastic Bag" that someone did drift on the Highway, went inside the engine´s bay and somehow did "Roll" itself in one of the Timin´ Belts and the engine started to emit some loud noises... then the Engine Stopped... :-\ due to a Damaged Timin´ Belt. He said it wasn´t Break, just did Slip some Pulley´s theet and it did cut off some of the Belt´s Theet... Well... How are the Chances to This to Happen? ... I think that it sound Around a Nightmare, but He did swear that. I Personally think that maybe a Plastic Bag Wasn´t the Cause, just a Coincidence, but due to the Own Nature of the Things that Happened, I Posted that Story here... so, that´s another "Thing" to count in order to Keep the Covers on... so, Yay! -

by CEL you´re Meanin´ "Check Engine Light", isn´t it? ... I Wonder if the "ECS" Light permanently On, on my EA82 is the same CEL... ´cos I Didn´t Saw any "Check Engine" Light on my Subies´ Dashes... or they got Burnt Bulbs? -
Well... First I Think that, but Then I think that Maybe your car has a Bad Ignition Coil too... Why? ... Well... A Week Ago, I helped someone that had the same "20 Secs Syndrome" on the engine of his car :-\ , it was in a Park, near a Nice Lagoon where People goes to rest Weekends, I saw the Man in Trobles with his Car... Helpin´ Him to check what´s Goin´ on, I Touched the Ignition Coil and it was Too Hot, it almost burn my Hand... So, I just replaced the Old Coil with a spare one that I Carry (Carried) on my EA82´s Trunk (Was my Subie´s Old Coil, since I´ve Changed that with an Accel Superstock 8140 HV) The Guy did Paid me for the Old Coil and his car did run Fine. So, I think that aside of the Wires´ Cluster, and the Possibility of a Short Circuit there, Maybe your subie got a Bad Ignition Coil too... So, I Suggest to Check it up, carefully. Good Luck!

Could you Post Pics of your Intake Manyfold and the Trouble Places? ... Maybe that´s Helpfull... When I Took out my EA82´s Intake, a Lot of Coolant went to the Cylinders... When I Tried to start it, a Bang and then a Drownin´ Engine sound came... :-\ After fiteen minutes of Tryin´ the Engine Started... (I did just a 30 Seconds Start, and a Minute of Restin´) ...And a Enormous White Cloud did came from the Exhaust as the Engine tried to die... After two minutes, the engine Warmed but Still emanating the White Cloud... I Drove it for half Hour and the White Cloud Quit Apperarin´ Now it Just Runs Great! Maybe Yours is Havin´ the Same "Drownin´ Problem" I Suggest you to be Carefull... Check Everythin´ to be Sure you left Nothin´ Loose or Bad Plugged... Then I Suggest you to Try Start it Again... Good Luck! -

Here You can Swap About Anythin´ in a Car... and just "Before" it gets to the Sreets, you need to do the Papers... Just with a Proof of Purchase of the Engine (Like a Bill of Sale) and You´re Ready!... is Easy That is an Idea I Heard from Old Mechanics... That kind of Device Really Exist? or that´s Just a EGR? ... EGR with Compressor? -
